Chapter 309 Mrs. Windsor, I'm sorry

Natalie waited for Oliver to speak. Once he apologized to her, she would apologize as well. She wanted to apologize for hanging up on him and for forcing him to apologize.

However, it seemed like she expected too much from him.

Instead of an apology, she was greeted with Oliver’s long-suppressed desire and warm body.

During their time apart, Oliver found his thoughts drifting to Natalie repeatedly, especially during the quiet nights in the master bedroom.

The woman before him was captivating, with a fragrance and softness that seemed to draw him in. Her eyes sparkled with a mix of charm and mischief, seemingly goading him into apologizing. He had already apologized earlier, but she still insisted he do it again. It was the first time he felt toyed with by a woman in his life.

Clearly, she was no longer upset, but she was still acting, seducing him with her appearance.

Oliver found himself enveloped by a whirlwind of emotions including longing, irritation, and desire. Caught in the midst of these feelings, he carried her up and gently placed her on the large couch in his study.

The advanced home system of Rosewood Estate responded to a simple command, closing the curtains and creating a private space.

Natalie had not anticipated this turn of events.

When the moments of passion finally ended, Oliver, who was hugging from behind, suddenly whispered, “I’m sorry, Mrs. Windsor.”

It took Natalie some time to comprehend his words amidst the haze.

Meanwhile, Oliver carefully wrapped Natalie in a blanket and carried her back to their bedroom. As he bathed her, she barely stirred, uttering only faint sounds in her half-asleep state. She was utterly spent.

When he laid her down on the bed, she momentarily opened her eyes, perhaps disturbed by his movements. She murmured softly, “Oliver…”

"Oliver..." she murmured softly.

"Hmm?" He paused, leaning closer.

"I'm sorry," she whispered.

This apology caught Oliver off guard, causing emotions to ripple through him.

After apologizing, Natalie comfortably settled into the pillow and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

It was important for her to apologize. She believed that she owed him an apology. And now that he had apologized, she had to apologize as well.

Observing her peaceful slumber, Oliver could not help but chuckle softly. He suddenly felt childish about his reluctance to apologize. However, he knew even if he could do it again, he would find it difficult to apologize so directly. He did not expect her to hear his earlier apology.

Oliver settled under the covers, pressing a button on the remote to open the curtains.

The serene moonlight streamed through the large windows, casting a glow over the room.

In the silence that followed, he questioned himself.

‘Roger said I don’t love you, and you also doubt my feelings for you. Did I fail in expressing my feelings? Did my absence and my lack of attention make you feel unloved?’

Oliver's fingertips brushed against Natalie's forehead gently.

Unfortunately, the intended recipient of his introspective questions was deep in slumber, unaware of the contemplations taking place beside her.

The following morning, Natalie awoke feeling as if something was pressing down on her. It took her a moment to realize that she was enveloped in Oliver's arms.

Oliver, who typically rose half an hour before Natalie, had forgone his morning exercise routine.

As she opened her eyes, he greeted her with a kiss.

"I'll take you out tonight."

"Hmm?"

Still groggy, Natalie blinked in confusion. Eventually, she recalled the upcoming audition for the Givenchy show she had gotten from Lily and realized she had no prior commitments for the day.

"Where are we going?" Natalie asked.

"To enjoy ourselves," Oliver replied. He wanted her to meet the people in his circle to dispel rumors about their separation.

Natalie, out of habit, reached for her phone to check for any important messages, discovering one from Lucas.

Lucas: [Hey, is Jane seeing someone new? I saw her at MU Hotel a few times now.]

MU Hotel was the only five-star hotel close to the university.

‘Seeing someone new? That’s impossible…’

After a moment, Natalie asked Oliver, “Do you know where Anthony is staying now?”

Oliver’s expression soured as soon as Natalie mentioned another man. "Why are you asking about him?"

Natalie could tell that Oliver knew something, so she pressed on. “Is it MU Hotel?”

Oliver grunted in agreement before he said coldly, “Don’t talk about other men in front of me again.”

Oliver's response came as a terse grunt, followed by a cold admonishment, "Natalie, try mentioning other men in my presence again."

‘Why is he angry again? He really has a terrible temper!’

Natalie pouted.

Seeing the aggrieved expression on her face, his expression softened as he explained, “I didn’t mean to get angry.”

Natalie was surprised that he took the time to explain it to her. Her heart skipped a beat as she said teasingly, “If you weren’t angry, then why did you speak to me like that?”

Oliver massaged his temples before pulling Natalie closer to soothe her, saying, “I wasn’t angry.”

"If you say you’re not, then there’s nothing else I can say,” Natalie said, struggling to hide her amusement.

"I really wasn’t," Oliver affirmed, gently kissing Natalie, his tone noticeably softer, "I’ll do better next time."

Natalie was right; Jane was indeed with Anthony. However, the truth was that Jane was tricked by Clint.

The night before, Clint had called her urgently, saying that he needed help.

Given their history, she did not refuse him. However, when she arrived, she found herself in the presidential suit of MU Hotel, looking at a dazed and feverish Anthony.

Seeing that Jane was about to leave, Clint hastily said, “Jane, Anthony is sick. Please, you have to help him. He’s been feverish for nearly a day now.”

Jane's heart tightened, but her expression did not change as she said, “Take him to the hospital if he has a fever. What can I do? I’m not a doctor.”

Clint pleaded, "Jane, Anthony is adamant about not going to the hospital. I had no choice but to turn to you to persuade him."

“It’s useless to persuade someone who has already made up their minds,” Jane said, casting a disdainful glance at the fever-stricken Anthony on the bed, "Moreover, if his condition worsens, it will serve as revenge for my brother.”

With that, Jane strode past Clint. He could not stop her and could only watch her leave helplessly.

Just as Jane reached the doorway, a weak voice called out, “Jane…”

Anthony’s eyes fluttered open weakly before they focused on Jane immediately.
