Chapter 942 The Homewrecker

That evening, Aurora was concerned about Anthony and Jane being alone together. With both Aurora and Ann in the hospital, only Anthony and Jane remained at home. The opportunity for Jane to potentially seduce Anthony seemed ripe.

"So, you called me here just to scold me?" Jane was astonished at her own composure as she calmly questioned Ann once again. "Since you were the one who upset Aurora and caused her to be hospitalized, it is your responsibility to care for her," Ann remarked, instructing a servant to pass Aurora's bowl to Jane.

Jane looked puzzled at Aurora, who had an IV in her left hand but was perfectly capable of eating with her right hand. Over the years, Jane had only seen one condition that matched this behavior: feigning illness.

"Auntie, this doesn't seem right," Aurora awkwardly voiced her concern.

"What's wrong with it?"

Ann gently reassured Aurora, patting her hand. "Aurora, you must remember that you are in the hospital and suffering because of Jane. She was supposed to take care of you!

Jane really wanted to roll her eyes.

Jane admitted that Aurora's hospitalization might be her fault, but everything she said and did yesterday was the truth.

However, even if what Jane said was true, it was also a fact that Aurora was so upset by her that she almost had a miscarriage.

Jane couldn't get over that.

"It's alright, Ms. Watkins. I can handle it myself," Aurora said apologetically, noticing Jane sitting by the bedside with her bowl.

In the past, Jane might have snapped, "If you really didn't need help, you should have said so earlier. What do you mean by saying it now after I've sat down?"

But times had changed.

Forget it, no point in snapping.

"Open your mouth," Jane instructed, disregarding Aurora's words as she brought a spoonful of porridge to her lips.

Aurora hesitated for a few seconds before reluctantly opening her mouth.

"It's too hot!"

"Aurora! Jane , what are you doing!"

Chaos ensued.

The bowl of oatmeal shattered on the floor, pieces flying everywhere. Ann quickly pushed Jane aside and anxiously asked Aurora, "Aurora, are you okay? Shall I call the doctor?“

"Auntie, don't call the doctor!" Aurora grabbed Ann's hand. "Auntie, I'm fine. The oatmeal was just a bit hot."

After speaking, Aurora apologized to Jane, "Ms. Watkins, I'm sorry. Did it burn you?"

Jane's clothes and pants were covered in oatmeal, making her look quite a mess.

"No," Jane said coldly.

Warm oatmeal couldn't burn anyone.

If it were really that hot, the servant wouldn't have brought it to Aurora.

Jane had always believed Aurora was somewhat manipulative, but now she realized she had underestimated her.

Jane's gaze was so penetrating that Aurora felt her little schemes were instantly exposed, all her dark thoughts laid bare. She quickly averted her eyes, feeling guilty.

The oatmeal wasn't very hot. Aurora hadn't meant to create challenges for Jane. Having the former leading socialite serve her food made Aurora feel somewhat uneasy. But then Aurora considered how she had loved Anthony for countless years. Even though he was now her fiancé and the father of her child, he still held Jane in his heart!

Aurora was furious. The seed of malice in her heart sprouted instantly, leading to this "hot" incident.

"Aurora, are you burned? Don't worry about others; you're pregnant, and you're the most important," Ann asked again, still concerned.

Aurora said she wasn't burned.

Ann gave Jane a disdainful look. "You can't do anything right! You can’t even feed people.”

Jane stood there silently.

Of course, Jane couldn't.

Jane had never taken care of anyone.

Jane had always been the one taken care of.

Upon hearing the commotion, a nurse entered the room to clean up the mess and the broken bowl. "Don't move," Ann signaled to Jane. "Whoever broke it should clean it up!" Jane had anticipated Ann's reaction. She had already noticed the broom in the corner of the room and swiftly grabbed it to sweep the floor, not allowing Ann the opportunity to say, "Pick it up with your hands.

Seeing Ann's frustrated expression, Jane's gloomy mood lifted a bit.

Jane had been feeling stifled for too long and always wanted to see something pleasing.

"Aurora!"

"Aurora, my dear daughter!"

Urgent footsteps echoed from outside.

A middle-aged couple rushed in, their faces full of anxiety.

"Mother, Father, why are you here?" Aurora was slightly taken aback and was about to sit up when the Dewar couple quickly stopped her.

"Aurora, you haven’t recovered yet. Don't move around," Linda said as she settled Aurora back down. Only then did she notice Jane standing nearby, and her expression immediately turned sour.

"What are you doing here?" Linda glared at Jane with cold disdain, her contempt almost palpable. "Jane, which did learn those trick from? Aurora is not just Anthony's fiancee but also the future mother of the Clark family's eldest grandson! Understand your role!"

Linda had successfully maintained her role as the matriarch of the Dewar family for numerous years, allowing her to possess a few tricks of her own. Swiftly, she devised a plan and sneered, "Jane, I've heard rumors that the daughter of the Hastings family in Tycoon City believes she is Mr. Windsor's childhood sweetheart and first love. It's said she's openly and covertly pressuring Natalie to step aside. How does your conduct differ from hers? Natalie is known to be your close friend. I wonder how she would react if she saw your true intentions!

Linda was just short of stamping the words "homewrecker" on Jane's face.

Jane glanced at Ann, feeling reluctant about being there as it was Ann who had insisted on their visit. However, Ann remained silent, appearing to be relishing the situation and eagerly anticipating how Jane would navigate it.

Although Ann had called her, it was true that Jane and Anthony had a complicated relationship.

"Look, Jane, if anything happens to my daughter or grandson, I'll make you pay with your life!"

“Enough!" Otis softly reprimanded Linda. He glanced at Jane with displeasure, noticing her disheveled appearance and realizing that this member of the Watkins family had faced challenges even before their arrival.

Linda was narrow-minded, solely focused on Aurora and taking actions to remove any woman, like Jane, who could potentially jeopardize Aurora's marriage and happiness.

As a man, Otis understood that if a man desired a woman, no other woman could prevent him from pursuing her.

"Ms. Watkins, if you have no business here, please leave. You're not welcome here," Otis said.

Not feeling welcome, Jane decided to leave. Anticipating that Ann wouldn't respond to Otis's remarks, she departed without turning back. Covered in oatmeal, she felt utterly repulsed.

Jane urgently needed to find a place to shower and change clothes. Linda wished to say more to Jane, but time was running out.

Frowning disapprovingly at Otis, Linda felt he had missed a prime chance to educate Jane. Jane swiftly exited Aurora's hospital room, as if escaping from a monster.

In her rush, she glanced down at her phone to find a hotel and accidentally bumped into Anthony, who caught her firmly.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to..."

"Jane."

Jane's words were cut short. She looked up, her eyes filled with cold indifference.

Linda's words echoed in her mind. "How are you different from the daughter of the Hastings family ?"
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
