Chapter 451

Natalie noticed several friend requests, among them two from Barrett and Cadence. The other requests were easily identifiable. They were from individuals she had met that day.

She had been reluctant to share her social media details when they asked, particularly since she intended to end her relationship with Oliver. It seemed unnecessary to get involved with Oliver's acquaintances. In the end, she decided to ignore the requests.

Shortly after, Cadence sent another request. This time, it included a message.

Cadence: [Natalie, are you ignoring my friend request?]

Natalie felt helpless for a moment. After a brief pause, she accepted Cadence's friend request.

Cadence: [Did you ignore me because you look down on me?]

Natalie was at a loss for words agagin.

Natalie: [Didn't I just accept your request?]

Cadence: [I know you look down on me! You always have, and now that my family is bankrupt, you surely look down on me even more!]

Natalie was puzzled by Cadence's accusation. There was also another thing she was surprised by.

Natalie: [Bankrupt?]

Cadence: [Isn't it because I offended you?]

Cadence's frustration was palpable from her message.

The continuation of the story was not difficult to infer.

Following a disagreement with Natalie, Oliver had exerted pressure on the Aura family. Given their reliance on Oliver, it was easy for him to act against them. Yet, Oliver restrained himself to a degree; otherwise, the Aura family would not have been able to afford Cadence's pilot training.

As their conversation progressed, Natalie discovered that Cadence was pretty decent; she was certainly much better than her former domineering self a year ago. This change hinted at maturity and significant personal growth.

No wonder Barrett and the others continued to hang out with Cadence after the financial downfall of the Aura family.

Cadence led the way, prompting several others, including Barrett, to contact Natalie on social media, all leaving messages like, 'Don't ignore us! We're with Cadence!'

Now, Natalie felt compelled to accept their requests. Ignoring them would be rude now.

After Oliver finished his cigarette, he returned, discarding his coat to shake off the residual cold before making his way into the living room.

Natalie was comfortably settled in a beanbag chair, engrossed in her phone, while her right leg, encased in a cast, was propped up on a footstool.

Oliver had not planned to pry into Natalie's activities, but with her phone facing up, he saw a name that caught his attention.

The name belonged to a young man they had met during lunch, an heir of the real estate empire.

She seemed engrossed in a lively exchange with someone else, completely ignoring him. With this, his long-buried frustration surged to the surface.

Noticing a shadow looming beside her, Natalie looked up, only to see Oliver tossing her phone aside.

Caught off guard, she froze, unable to react before Oliver leaned in and kissed her passionately, pouring his pent-up emotions into the act and leaving her breathless.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
