Chapter 232 You're Not Worthy of Being My Sister-in-Law.
"How old is your cousin?" Natalie asked.
Oliver flipped over, pressing Natalie beneath him, his strong legs holding her legs tightly, preventing her from moving. He raised an eyebrow. The impatience from earlier had vanished, but powerful and inexpressible emotions surged within.
It was passion.
"We can do something else," he said, his voice trailing off as he lowered his head and nibbled on Natalie's lips.
Natalie shook her head vehemently. "No, we can't. Tomorrow, I'll meet your cousin. It won't be good if she finds out!"
Oliver sealed her lips with a kiss, letting his actions speak louder than words.
Despite not engaging in vigorous activity the night before, visible imprints remained on Natalie's body.
The following morning, Natalie yawned as she carefully picked out her attire. Thankfully, autumn's cool weather permitted layering garments, providing ample coverage.
"She understands, so why bother covering up?" Oliver rested one leg on the door frame of the wardrobe. His eyes were slightly droopy, but not from sleepiness. It was rather a typical appearance when his mood was good after waking up.
It was evident that Oliver wasn't too concerned about welcoming his cousin. He was still wearing a silk robe, with the belt loosely tied around his waist.
Natalie ultimately opted for a green high-necked short dress, paired with a long coat and sheer leggings underneath.
She planned to close the door and change, but Oliver blocked the sliding door.
"I need to change," Natalie said, trying to push him out.
He wouldn’t budge from his spot. Instead, he nonchalantly remarked, "Go ahead, I'll watch."
Natalie widened her eyes.
Does this man have no shame?
Well, obviously he doesn't.
Luckily, the wardrobe's threshold was spacious. Natalie walked to the end, turned her back, and started changing her clothes.
Oliver’s gaze drifted to Natalie's exposed back, bearing evidence of his recent affection, and suddenly spoke, "Natalie,"
"Hmm?" Natalie continued dressing quickly, not turning around or pausing.
Oliver pouted and thought, ‘Is she getting smarter?’ In the past, she would always turn around to look at him when he said something.
Natalie finished changing into her outfit and glanced at herself in the full-length mirror. She looked dignified, elegant, and slightly more mature compared to her usual style of white shirts and jeans. She was quite satisfied with herself.
She turned around and walked toward Oliver's wardrobe. Soon after, she brought him clothes and asked him to change.
Oliver wasn't going to the office today, so Natalie picked out a set of cotton and linen casual wear for him. He was less particular than her; he changed his clothes right then and there.
As Natalie glanced over, she noticed he was wearing the underwear she bought for him.
Square-cut, snug, dark-colored. It was both modest and sexy.
She discreetly averted her gaze.
"Darling, you purchased these yourself. Don't you like them?" Oliver said as he took a step forward with his long legs, pressing Natalie between the towering wardrobe and his body.
He had just taken off his robe. He lowered his head and playfully looked at her.
Natalie bit her lip. "You, you should hurry up and get dressed!"
Oliver casually kissed her cheek.
"Hurry up, your cousin will be here soon, and there won't be anyone to welcome her.", exclaimed Natalie, flustered.
Mr. Liam had meticulously prepared for Winnie's arrival. Special fruit shipments arrived. The snacks were ready, and the head chef had started preparing lunch in the main building.
Today's menu featured French cuisine with a variety of delicate dishes. However, considering that only three guests that would be dining, the portion sizes were limited, denying Natalie any opportunity to prepare a feast for Winnie.
Natalie went to the kitchen to prepare a separate meal for Oliver. She focused wholeheartedly on cooking. She heard a tender and familiar female voice when she stepped out.
" Cousin, I detest your spouse. Why did you wed her? Cousin, I learned she is the illegitimate daughter of the Watson family. How can an illegitimate child be worthy of your stature? Even the Watson family itself is undesirable, but it was acceptable due to the previous arrangement.”
" Yet, the one betrothed to you was the eldest daughter of the Watson family, not this illegitimate replacement. You should divorce her!”, she demanded.
"Not to mention our family’s influence; for your own sake, the RK Group, you can marry a woman with both noble lineage and capabilities. Above everything else, your current wife doesn't compare to the Miss of the Hastings family! Cousin, why are you ignoring me?"
Natalie held a pineapple pie in her hands, specially made for Oliver's cousin, but she heard their conversation without even seeing the person. She waited for Oliver's response for a while, but when he didn't say anything, she eventually walked away.
"Cousin, let me tell you, that illegitimate daughter of the Watson family is treacherous. You men can't see through it!"
Now Natalie was completely sure that the person was her assistant, Lilian. No wonder she had always felt something odd before—that subtle coincidence was revealed in their conversations.
Hearing footsteps coming from the kitchen, Lilian hatched a plan to make this woman give up on Oliver. After all, marriages and divorces are commonplace!
But as Natalie came into view, Lilian was too stunned to utter a word. She was dumbfounded!
"Natalie, why are you here?"
Lilian looked at her cousin with confusion. Oliver sat on a single sofa, expressionless, already annoyed by Lilian's nagging and now too lazy to acknowledge her. The servant next to him cautiously said, "Miss, this is Lady Natalie."
Natalie smiled faintly and said, "That's right, I'm the sister-in-law you dislike so much."
"How could it...?" Lilian's eyebrows quivered in disbelief, torn between confusion and astonishment.
How did her idol become her extremely disliked sister-in-law? "Simon, tell me this isn't true!" Lilian was on the verge of tears. She simply couldn't accept it!
A whirlwind of conflicting emotions churned within her. Despite having encountered numerous rumors about Natalie, she had long perceived the entertainment industry and the American fashion circle as complicated.
The online world was even more divisive, with truths and lies intertwined, making it hard to discern what's real and what's not.
She had never verified those rumors. Moreover, during her time in France, she remained largely unaffected by gossip, concentrating instead on acquiring information about Natalie as a model. Consequently, she held an unwavering admiration for her.
Even if her idol was an illegitimate child, she could still accept it as long as they displayed a good character.
However, she had long known what kind of woman her cousin had married – a love child, tainted by birth! She had hastily married her cousin right after parting ways with her ex-boyfriend!
