Chapter 978 I'm not going!

Anthony returned to the Clark family villa in the dead of night.

After making all the necessary arrangements at the hospital, he still had to handle company business and coordinate with the people in Everville to search for Anthony.

Anthony thought Jane had already gone to bed. When he opened the door and entered, he found Jane sitting on the bed looking at the full moon outside the window.

"How did you get in?" Jane was startled when she heard the sound and snapped back to reality.

Jane had locked the door before going to bed and had even locked the windows tonight.

Anthony shook the keys in his hand.

In Anthony's house, he naturally had access to all the spare keys for every room.

Jane let out a cold laugh.

Not only was she living under someone else's roof, but she also had no privacy at all.

"Can't sleep?" Anthony, completely unaware of his invasion of privacy, sat down on the edge of Jane's bed and gazed at her in the soft, warm light of the bedside lamp.

"I am afraid of burglars breaking in at night," Jane said, her words dripping with sarcasm.

Anthony's first reaction was that Jane had found out about the incident at the Paykston apartment, but he quickly realized that the "burglar" Jane was referring to was him.

Anthony chuckled lightly, unfazed by Jane's sarcasm.

‘Jane had even called him a rogue before.

"Jane, are you afraid of having children?"

Jane was baffled by Anthony's question and a bit irritated. She said, "Are you out of your mind?"

Jane quickly made a guess. "Is Aurora Dewar afraid of having children, so she suddenly decided to have an abortion?"

Anthony didn't respond, just looking at Jane.

Anthony couldn't care less whether Aurora was afraid of having children or not.

It was just that Aurora's words today had made Anthony think of Jane.

In Anthony's eyes, Jane was quite delicate. She would run away from getting an IV drip and make excuses to avoid applying medicine. Whenit came to having a baby, Jane would probably be very scared.

"What are you laughing at? Are you mocking me?" Jane looked at the sudden smile on Anthony's face with a strange expression, full of vigilance.

"I'm laughing at you, not mocking you," Anthony corrected. He said, "Laughing at how delicate you are."

As he said this, Anthony instinctively reached out to tweak Jane's nose, but she dodged.

Such an intimate gesture was too much for Jane. She refused to have such interactions with Anthony now.

Anthony didn't mind Jane's disdain and resistance. Instead, he asked, "Are the rashes on your body better?"

"They're gone." Allergies come and go quickly. After applying the medicine for a couple of days, they were gone.

In retrospect, Jane felt she must have been out of her mind to believe Anthony's words that not using the medicine would leave scars.

Anthony nodded and stood up, intending to leave. "Get some sleep. I'll take you to the hospital for a follow-up tomorrow."

"For what?"

"The allergy, and the previous injury."

The bruise on Jane's back had mostly healed, but Anthony wasn't entirely reassured. Moreover, Jane had lost a lot of weight recently, so he wanted to take her to the hospital to see if she needed any supplements.

Anthony couldn't be fooled by Jane's current appearance of being in good health and able to fight. She had been a sickly girl, and Jovan had even assembled a medical team just for her, taking great pains to nurse her back to health.

"I'm not going," Jane frowned and refused. "I don't like hospitals."

Anthony glanced at Jane. "Did I ask for your opinion?"

"You have no right to control me," Jane retorted. 'Whether Anthony is asking or not, he is not my boyfriend anymore, so why should he control me?' she thought.

Jane immediately curled up under the covers, turning her back on Anthony and refusing to communicate with him any further.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
