Chapter 445

His surprise did not fully conceal his curiosity.

Oliver shot him a glare so fierce that it could silence anyone.

Barrett quickly closed his mouth thereafter.

Wyatt covered his face with his hand. The tension between Oliver and Natalie was palpable. How could these two oblivious individuals fail to notice?

Natalie greeted the trio with a polite nod, her manner cool and noticeably reserved.

Shortly after, a few more friends arrived.

Natalie saw a familiar face, but she was not certain. After a moment's hesitation, she ventured, "Cadence?"

"What? Have I become so ugly that you couldn't recognize me?" Cadence raised her eyebrows, her usual confidence intact.

Cadence looked the same, but with her hair now cut short, she had transformed dramatically. She looked sharp and neat, which greatly contrasted her previous delicate and gentle appearance.

"Looking good, Cadence. I'm so jealous that Natalie spoke to you!” Isaac said jokingly.

Cadence scoffed and dramatically rolled her eyes.

The others joined in with their playful comments, significantly easing the previously tense atmosphere.

Oliver had assumed the meal would only involve him, Isaac, and Wyatt; the addition of several others was unexpected. His expression became even colder; it only softened when he looked at Natalie.

Everyone did not speak much and focused on eating, occasionally texting each other.

Wyatt, having made the arrangements, ensured the food was served as soon as they were all seated.

In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere, Isaac enthusiastically said, "Natalie, the fish here is as famous as their dessert. Give it a try!"

He brought a serving over to her, hoping to entice her to eat.

The table fell silent, all eyes on Natalie, who had yet to touch her spoon.

Oliver watched her patiently, awaiting her reaction.

"No…" Natalie said.

However, Isaac interjected, "Come on, give it a try! For my sake!"

Then, Isaac lowered his voice before he continued, "I know you're mad at Oliver, but we've always been friends, right?"

After he finished speaking, he cast a quick glance at Oliver, and noticing Oliver's lack of reaction, he cheered inwardly. No reaction from Oliver was a good reaction.

Isaac had indeed been a huge help when Natalie left the Watson family. Although she did not have the appetite, she found it hard to refuse him. In the end, she simply came up with an excuse, mumbling, "I'm too lazy to pick out the fish bones."

Oliver, without a word, selected a piece of fish, carefully removed the bones, and placed it in Natalie's bowl.

"Eat," he coldly said.

This action prompted everyone to exchange a look surreptitiously. At the same time, they picked up their phones discreetly.

In the next moment, messages began to flood the chat room created by Barrett.

Barrett: [What's Oliver doing?]

Cadence: [Are you blind?]

Isaac: [He doesn't get it. He's clueless!]

Wyatt: [Just keep calm and watch.]

Barrett gulped. He had seen Oliver spoiling Natalie before, but this was on a completely different level. As it turned out, there was no limit to spoiling someone. The fact that he had once offended Natalie and managed to survive was a miracle.

'Oliver? Mr. Windsor? Weren't you always aloof? When did you become someone's caretaker?'
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
