Chapter 885 Beg You to Spare Me (More Flowers)

Jane and Flora had a general idea of the issue. Although they did not know the specifics, they refrained from asking further questions. Regardless, they offered their unequivocal support to their friend.

"Let the bodyguards know if you need anything."

After saying this, Oliver exchanged a few words with the bodyguards stationed outside the door before departing with Natalie.

"Natalie, what's bothering Oliver?" Tina asked. She could sense that something was amiss.

"They have some matters to handle. Tina, would you like to play with Nathan later?" Flora inquired.

"Yes!"

When Flora turned away, her expression darkened.

Years earlier, Flora had nearly lost her life due to Susan's actions, which had also endangered Tina. After ruining Susan's career, Flora resolved to stop seeking revenge. She was painfully aware that the ordeal had hardened her, but for Tina's sake, she wanted to be a kind person. Unexpectedly, Susan actually tried to harm Natalie and Nathan!

Following her examination, it was determined that Susan had sustained a mild concussion, a broken right arm, a scraped knee, and no additional injuries.

The other drivers and passengers involved in the incident were escorted to a different public hospital by Samuel. All vehicles were documented, and compensation was eventually secured.

"Oliver, Natalie, the patient has yet to regain consciousness. I've arranged a room where you can rest. Please take a moment to relax."

As the founder and a major shareholder of the hospital, Oliver received personal attention from the director, who escorted him and Natalie to a designated rest area.

Approximately half an hour later, the director returned to notify Oliver and Natalie that Susan had awakened.

The director, although curious, did not ask why Oliver sent Susan to the hospital despite their bad relationship or why Susan was released early from prison. After all, someone in his position had to have a combination of competence and emotional intelligence.

Susan, with her arm now in a cast, reclined on the hospital bed, appearing pale and frail, exhibiting symptoms of post-concussion syndrome. She had been driven to desperation by Samuel's actions; her jealousy drove her to madness. In hindsight, she had indeed been reckless. She should have hired someone to do it instead of personally taking action. Due to her recklessness, she was now in a difficult situation.

Upon awakening, Susan's initial desire was to contact people from the Hastings family. Her last clear memory was of her car colliding with a large tree, surrounded by luxury vehicles. Oliver, Natalie, and their child were completely unharmed by her actions!

Although unable to see anyone at the moment, Susan knew she was likely under the surveillance of Oliver's personnel. Nevertheless, she was not intimidated; she still possessed a crucial leverage—Lucas's life depended on her!

The bodyguard opened the door, and Natalie and Oliver walked in.

Susan smiled immediately. As expected, she had guessed correctly.

"Where is Nathan? Was he injured?" Susan's voice dripped with venom as she said maliciously, "He isn't dead, is he? Because if he were, you wouldn't be standing here…"

Her taunt was abruptly silenced by Natalie, who strode forward and delivered a sharp slap across Susan's face.

The sound of the slap resonated within the ward.

Susan's head snapped to the side. She chuckled and turned to face Natalie, only to receive another slap.

Blood trickled from the left corner of Susan's mouth as a vivid red imprint of Natalie’s hand appeared on her cheek, now swollen and raw.

The repeated humiliation ignited Susan's wrath further, her dignity feeling increasingly trampled upon. At the same time, a creeping sense of fear began to rise in her heart.

"Natalie, is this all you have?" Susan taunted, wiping the blood away with her uninjured hand. Her eyes involuntarily sought Oliver, who was standing quietly behind Natalie. Although she no longer liked him, the fond memories of their youth and her former obsession made it difficult for her to divert her attention from him.

Whenever Susan’s gaze met Oliver’s, her heart twinged with pain. At the same time, she felt as though her dignity had been trampled on. Every time she looked at him, his gaze was on Natalie. All his tenderness and affection were lavished upon Natalie while there was only coldness and disgust for her.

It was a stark contrast to the past when Oliver had once crossed several countries overnight, ensuring that the top doctors were at her side when she fell ill. But those grand gestures seemed hollow now.

Susan mused bitterly that although Oliver ensured the best possible care for her in the past, he never personally cared for her. He only provided her with the best material things, never his genuine care and love.

Oliver completely disregarded the eager and almost hopeful look in Susan’s eyes. Her presence only elicited feelings of disgust and revulsion in him.

Nonetheless, he knew he should not intervene directly in Susan's affairs. Firstly, there was a connection between Susan and Natalie through the Hastings family. Secondly, Susan and Lucas were siblings, and Natalie treated Lucas as her younger brother. This situation was Natalie’s to handle. His role was to provide unwavering support and protection.

"Natalie, what are you going to do?!"

Susan's body jerked as Natalie abruptly pulled her up, causing her to panic. As Natalie gripped Susan’s injured arm, a sharp pain shot through Susan, exacerbated by her post-concussion symptoms which made her head swim with dizziness and nausea with every slight movement.

"I want you to see how terrifying I can be," Natalie said with a smirk, her tone chilling, "After all, you hurt Nathan, and you tried to seduce Oliver."

Natalie’s smile, usually confident and reassuring, now seemed twisted, making Susan suspect that Natalie had gone mad. A profound, icy terror enveloped her immediately. Before she could shake off this eerie fear, a scream of agony escaped her lips.

"Natalie, let go! It hurts!"

"Natalie, you will die miserably!"

"Natalie, please let go of me! Please!"

Natalie, using a move she had learned from Jane, twisted Susan’s broken arm with precision. Each movement was calculated to maximize pain without much effort.

The temporary cast on Susan’s arm was thin and inadequate, ill-equipped to protect the fresh injury from Natalie’s harsh manipulation.

Susan felt an almost dislocating sensation in her arm, each movement sending excruciating pain that seemed to pierce her heart.
