Chapter 763 Don't Touch Me!

"Jane, let her go! The security is coming," one of the socialites shouted.

"You'd better shut up! Otherwise, you'll end up like her." Jane didn't budge. She turned slightly to look at the woman who shouted at her. Her gaze made the woman instantly shut her mouth, feeling a chill running down her spine.

"I..." the pinned socialite’s face began to flush from desperation. Her tears were ruining her eye makeup. She felt pain and humiliation.

"Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Clark, please, save me!" the pinned socialite suddenly struggled as if she saw a lifeline. But Jane tightly bound her hands behind her back, and she winced in pain after struggling twice, too afraid to move again.

Soon, Ann came. She walked over with several wealthy ladies behind her. When she saw the scene, her face changed. She never liked Jane from the start, and that woman dared to cause a scene at her son's engagement banquet.

"Kelly!" Ann shouted.

"Mrs. Clark, please throw Jane out. I know she sneaked in here without an invitation. She still loves your son and must have sneaked in to cause trouble. Please, kick her out!"

Jane remembered the pinned woman was Kelly Baker, a distant relative of the Clark family from her side. She wasn’t relatively close with Ann, but their relationship was still close. The Baker family didn't have many blood ties with The Clark family. But since they had business dealings, they became close and respected each other. Hence, Kelly still regarded Ann as her aunt.

As for Jane, she had met Kelly at a high school competition. Kelly wanted to win first place and tried to bribe Jane with a $100,000 check. However, Jane smacked the check to Kelly's face, teaching her that money could never buy class.

Ever since the high school competition, Kelly held a grudge against Jane. If it weren't for Jane's good memory, she would’ve forgotten Kelly long ago. Jane still couldn't understand why some people blamed their incapacity on others' excellence. She thought this was an unsolvable problem.

As Jane returned to her senses, she calmly looked at Ann. She was the one who invited her to the engagement party. She didn’t sneak in like what Kelly said.

"Yes, Ms. Watkins, I remember not giving you an invitation. How did you get here?" Ann asked, puzzled.

Jane was silent for two seconds, staring at Ann without blinking. ‘What did she say? How did I get here?’

"What are you all waiting for? Quickly throw this uninvited guest out!" Kelly yelled to the security guards who had arrived.

Hearing Kelly’s order and Ann’s question, Jane chuckled. This scene amused her. She met Ann's gaze and knew she was plotting something nasty in her mind.

Kelly's words echoed in Ann’s mind. Jane didn't have an invitation, and all the guests knew that The Clark family would never send an invitation to Jane. They would guess that what Kelly said was true. But the truth was, Ann called Jane to come. She wanted her to see how romantic and luxurious Anthony and Aurora's engagement banquet was. If Ann could see a hint of desperation in Jane’s face, her purpose had been achieved.

With the mess Jane had just made, people would surely speculate that Jane still loved Anthony and wanted to take him away. After all, she had pursued Anthony before. People would surely believe that Jane was stubborn enough to destroy this engagement banquet to take him away. Moreover, people always preferred to believe what they wanted to believe. The former debutante turned vicious and resorted to despicable tactics for a man, which aroused everyone’s interest.

"Mrs. Clark, you may be old, but still cunning as ever!" Jane let go of Kelly before the security guards reached her. She moved aside to avoid the guard's hand and warned him, "Don't touch me, or I’ll destroy you."

Jane wasn't bluffing with how strong she was. Those security guards were indeed no match for her. Three out of the four security guards were overweight. They usually only did slightly more advanced tasks than just guarding, such as patrolling, and had no combat capabilities. While Anthony could defeat Jane within three moves, Jane could subdue those bodyguards with the same amount of moves.

"Jane, you’re so full of yourself!" Ann ordered someone to help Kelly stand and scolded Jane angrily, "This is my property, not yours! Since you’ve shown having no basic human decency, I ask you to leave immediately!"

"Mrs. Clark, by scolding me like this in public, you’ve also shown a lack of manners. I may be arrogant, but at least I know and embrace it. Unlike you who are a complete hypocrite!"

"Shut up! You are not welcome here. Please leave immediately." Ann was furious that she almost cursed. While speaking, she looked at the security guards, instructing them to drag the annoying Jane out. She had made sufficient preparations but didn’t expect Jane to fight in her house. Her behavior wasn’t something a member of a decent family would do.

"Mrs. Clark, if you can’t welcome her, you don’t welcome me either." A cold and indifferent male voice broke the deadlock. His tone was flat, even relaxed, but inexplicably made people uneasy.

"Mr. Foster?" Ann was surprised to see Richard Foster. The other guests were equally shocked. They speculated if Jane was Richard's companion. If so, how did the two know each other?

Richard had only appeared in the public eye in recent years. In the previous years, he had always been behind the scenes of The Foster family as an invisible force. Hence, his public appearance could draw everyone’s attention.

Everyone knew there was a man named Richard Foster in Southwest. He often dressed in all white. People described him as outwardly friendly but inwardly ruthless. He gave off an air of elegance and aloofness. But once he made a move, others had to prepare for the worst.

The Watkins family used to rule Paykston, while The Foster family ruled Southwest. Richard only appeared in public after the decline of The Watkins family. So, everyone thought there shouldn't be any connection between him and Jane.

Everyone was dumbfounded. Jane, too, was dumbfounded. She didn’t know when she became Richard's companion. She was convinced that Ann was the one who called her to come. Jane quickly looked around but didn't see any woman who looked like Richard's companion.

"Aren't you coming?" Richard smiled helplessly as if speaking to a stubborn princess. He extended his hand to Jane, inviting her over.

After a while, Ann asked anxiously, "Mr. Foster, is Jane truly your companion?"

Richard asked back, "Why wouldn't she be?"

The Foster family influenced the Southwest, while The Watkins family dominated the Midwest and Southeast regions. It would be best if they could be friends with The Foster family. Even if they didn't establish a relationship with the Foster family, opposing them was unnecessary. Otherwise, other parties would start taking advantage of their conflict.

Ann couldn't let Richard be embarrassed. Moreover, she invited Richard to come, hoping to establish a connection with his family. But she didn't expect Richard to know Jane.
