Chapter 754 Natalie, do you think I'm a tool?

Oliver and Natalie were both speechless.

"It's strange that I easily get tired lately," Natalie said, looking puzzled, "But when I went for a physical examination, Rosy told me there was no major problem with my body."

Oliver's gaze subtly shifted toward Natalie's abdomen. He wanted to touch it, but his rationality restrained him. He said curtly, "Then get some sleep."

Natalie looked unhappy. Her mind was filled with curses directed at the Clark family. Despite her physical fatigue, her mind was sharp.

The Clark family had deep roots in the South. Before Anthony's father had an accident, they possessed immense power and wealth. After the accident, the Clark family began to decline.

Henry and Hillary; Oliver's mother, married. With the assistance of the Norton family, the Windsor family rapidly developed, becoming one of the top ten noble families in the country.

During this period, the Foster family in the Southwest also transformed themselves, engaging in commerce and charity. They emerged as a significant force among the influential families in the country and became an undeniable force. Ten years ago, fierce internal strife plagued the Foster family, but Richard ultimately emerged victorious, leading the Foster family to new heights.

Meanwhile, the Clark Group surged five years ago when Anthony, who was once called Jane's 'little bodyguard', became the heir of the Clark family. Under Anthony's leadership over these five years, the Clark family had risen to become one of the top families in the South.

As soon as Natalie arrived at the airport, she saw the news advertisement announcing the engagement of the head of the Clark family.

"Tsk, does he think he’s in a movie?" Natalie muttered, rolling her eyes, "They even have advertisements; what’s wrong with them!"

Oliver had interacted with Anthony before and knew a bit about the latter. "This should be Mrs. Clark's doing."

They were publicizing Anthony's upcoming engagement and marriage everywhere, while Jane, without her family's support or her brother's protection, could do nothing but watch her former lover marry Aurora.

What Mrs. Clark did was a devastating blow to the heart.

"Where's Jane now?" Natalie asked after she turned to Oliver, eager to be by Jane's side. She wanted Jane to know that she was not alone and show those gloating over her misfortune that she had support.

"Natalie, do you treat me like a tool?" Oliver asked expressionlessly.
Natalie looked at him sheepishly. She glanced around to ensure no one was watching before she stood on her tiptoes and quickly kissed him. Then, she asked impatiently, "Can you tell me now?"

Oliver reluctantly responded with two words, "CY Manor."

CY Manor was owned by the Clark family.

On this day, CY Manor was adorned with pink roses, creating a romantic ambiance.

Guests had their invitations verified at the front gate and were escorted by the doorman to the estate's expansive lawn. The engagement ceremony was set on a floral platform in the center of the lawn.

It was both beautiful and romantic.

This was Natalie's first impression upon entering. She did not have an engagement ceremony; she only had a wedding. Yet her wedding could not be considered complete; the entire event was filled with compromise and perfunctoriness.

Here, however, every detail was meticulously arranged, and even the air seemed charged with romance.

This was the venue for Anthony's engagement to another woman.

Natalie could not imagine how Jane felt at this moment. Wearing a champagne-colored dress and holding Oliver's arm, she began scanning the crowd for Jane.

Jane was nowhere to be found, but Natalie kept hearing her name mentioned in hushed tones.

"Almost everyone in the circle knew that Jane loved Anthony and defied her brother for him."

"Jane was obsessed with Anthony. How tragic! I don’t think she'll dare to show her face today. This drama is truly too fascinating!"

"I wonder if Jane will come today to disrupt the ceremony or to seek sympathy. Either way, it’s quite shameless. Hahaha…"

"By the way, do you know who Jovan chose as Jane's fiancé?"

"I have no idea, but I heard he's from the southwest."

"Oh, the southwest. Apart from those two famous families, anyone else would be considered poor. Leonard and Susan got engaged, leaving only the Foster family. It couldn't possibly be Richard, right?"

"That's definitely not possible," another person laughed and said, "How could Richard tolerate his fiancee having deep feelings for another man? Sorry, I meant unrequited feelings! Hahaha!"

As the group laughed, someone finally noticed the atmosphere had shifted.

"Shut up!"

Following this admonition, the group's attention turned to the woman in the champagne-colored dress standing not far away.

Natalie wore an icy expression on her beautiful face. She was not visibly angry, but her demeanor instilled a sense of dread.

"Natalie and Jane are close. She must have heard us," someone whispered.

Although whispered, the surroundings quieted, amplifying the comment.

"She may have heard, but we have the freedom to speak as we wish. She can't do anything to us," a young lady said dismissively.

"Look who's beside her. Isn't that Oliver?"

A friend quickly nudged the young lady.

Oliver approached with a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice. He had been a few meters away from Natalie, facing away from her. As he approached, his presence was noted by all.

As the words were spoken, Oliver handed the juice to Natalie and cast a cold glance around.

The group felt a chill running down their spines and dared not speak again.

"Oliver, you're here too," someone said.

Natalie did not have time to deal with these people right now. She needed to find Jane urgently, so she asked, "Where's Jane?"

"She, she..."

The response came from a young socialite in her twenties. Her voice trembled, and she stuttered for a moment, unable to form a coherent sentence. Who knew if it was due to the shock of seeing Oliver or if she was frightened by his imposing presence.

"Speak up, or I'll deal with you now!" Natalie demanded.

"She was called away by Mrs. Clark!"

At the same time, the young socialite’s friend said, "You're bluffing. I don't believe you dare to do anything to us."

"But what if I have his support?" Natalie gripped Oliver's hand and fixed a cold stare on them.

Now she understood why Richard had asked Oliver to accompany her—not just out of consideration, but to have him as support.

The expression of the young socialite’s friend seemed to convey doubt that Oliver would support Natalie in such confrontations. Natalie was merely causing unnecessary trouble—or so she thought.

"You have my support," Oliver said with a reassuring smile. Then, he looked at the group of people frostily before he said, “Natalie can do whatever she wants, I can afford the consequences."

These people were just bullies who were afraid of the strong.
