Chapter 979 Anthony
The next day, Jane went downstairs and found Anthony sitting in the living room, waiting to take her to the hospital.
"Anthony, if you take me to the same hospital as your fiancée, aren't you afraid that she'll get so angry that something might happen to her? Aurora Dewar is already making a fuss about having an abortion. So please, go comfort your fiancée and leave me out of this, okay?"
Anthony glanced at his watch, saying, "Jane, when are you going to change that morning crankiness?"
Jane's first hour after waking up was always filled with morning grumpiness that made her irritable and sharp-tongued.
"Never," Jane said expressionlessly.
Anthony was both amused and helpless, having no choice but to indulge her.
He set his documents aside, and Clint immediately tidied them up.
"Let's go." Anthony took Jane's hand and started to lead her outside.
"Where to? The hospital? I'm not going." Jane tried to resist, but since she has just woken up and not eaten, she had no strength.
Jane's dislike for hospitals was no lie, especially after what happened to Jovan.
"Be good and get the check-up, and I'll tell you something about Jovan. Is that okay?"
Jane was both surprised and delighted, stopping in her tracks and gripping Anthony's hand in excitement. "Do you have news about my Jovan?"
Anthony found the joy in Jane's eyes particularly annoying and raised his hand to block them.
"Jane, can you not be so happy when you mention Jovan?" Jane used to look at Anthony with that same starry eyes, but now she looked at him differently.
"And," Anthony added, "why do you always call him my Jovan?"
The words "my Jovan" made Anthony itch with the hope that Jovan would never return, which was from the jealousy.
Jane had only called him "my Anthony" once, on the night of her eighteenth birthday.
"What news about my Jovan?" Jane ignored Anthony's nonsense and pressed him urgently.
"Get in the car."
The car was parked just outside the villa, and Anthony opened the door.
The message was clear that she needed to get in the car and they could talk
This time, Jane didn't hesitate and quickly got into the passenger seat, eagerly waiting for Anthony to join her.
"Buckle up. If you behave and complete the check-up, I'll tell you," Anthony said as he started the car.
"You're not lying to me, are you?" Jane asked suspiciously, clutching her seatbelt.
"Jane, if you don't cooperate, I can just as easily tie you up and take you to the hospital," Anthony said, his face dark and stern.
'What did she mean by lying? Is that really how she sees me?' he thought.
"Then let's go, hurry up," Jane urged. She wanted to get the check-up over with and find out about Jovan.
Anthony had already made arrangements at the hospital. As soon as Jane arrived, she could undergo various examinations.
The preliminary results came out quickly. Jane was generally healthy but showed signs of mild anemia, related to her recent irregular and poor eating habits.
Jane had always been a picky eater who needed both the right food and a good mood to eat well. Lately, not only had the food often been unappetizing, but her mood had also been consistently bad.
Anthony gritted his teeth, planning to send someone to Billy's place to bring food for Jane.
"Anthony, what about Jovan's news? You can't lie to me," Jane said, not caring about her check-up results.
Jane tilted her head up, her usually cold and elegant face looking particularly docile at this moment, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"He is in Mexica. He's alive."
