Chapter 1127 His Princess Had Grown Up

"What's her name?" Mr. White asked.

"Jane Watkins, from the bankrupt Watkins family," Melissa emphasized the bankruptcy.

Jane had lost interest and started playing on her phone.

Melissa, despite having no background, always tried to act superior.

The news of Jovan's strong comeback wasn't a secret, but only those who needed to know were aware. People like Melissa, who climbed up through connections, naturally knew nothing.

"What?" Melissa said.

The words from the person on the other end of the phone made Melissa's face turn pale, and she looked at Jane in shock.

Hanging up the phone, Melissa stammered, "You... I..."

"Organize your words before speaking to me," Jane said.

"Jovan, he's still alive? He's back?" Mentioning Jovan was like saying a demon to Melissa.

It wasn't entirely Melissa's fault; after all, she had offended Jane. And Jovan's reputation for doting on his sister was well-known throughout Paykston. Many people still saw him as the ideal big brother, even using him as a model in various media creations.

Jane couldn't be bothered to talk to her anymore and asked, "Are we still shooting?"

"No, we're not!" A female voice came from outside the studio.

Carol, dressed in a white suit and high heels, walked in briskly, followed by two assistants.

She was decisive in her actions, pointing at Melissa and saying to the project leader, "Get rid of her. Whoever chose her, come to my office this afternoon."

The project leader trembled, replying, "Yes, Ms. Cunningham!"

Melissa was completely stunned.

"Ms. Butler, this way, please." the project leader indicated for Melissa to leave.

Melissa got furious. "What do you mean? I'm the endorser. I signed the contract!" Only a fool would leave; this endorsement was hard-won."

"We'll discuss the breach of contract with your agent. For now, please leave," Carol said as she approached Jane.

She said, "Ms. Watkins, I apologize for this unpleasant incident. I intended to strengthen our relationship through this collaboration, but it backfired."

"No big deal, it's not your fault if your subordinates are incompetent," Jane said, packing her camera into her bag. "We probably won't be shooting today, right? How about we grab a meal together?"

"Sure, my treat." Carol smiled. Working with straightforward people was always pleasant.

Anyone could see that Carol and Jane had a close relationship. From the current situation, it seemed Carol felt somewhat apologetic towards Jane.

This apology stemmed from Melissa's stupidity.

High up in the studio building, the current CEO of the studio was leading Anthony around, explaining the studio's current status, "Mr. Clark, that's the general situation of our studio as I just introduced. Is there anything else you'd like to know?"

Although he was the current CEO, he was just an external professional manager. In front of Anthony, the real owner of the studio, he was merely a "senior employee."

Anthony nodded. "Is anyone using the studio today?"

"Yes, a company rented the studio today. They should be shooting now." The CEO pondered Anthony's intentions and tentatively asked, "Would you like to take a look, Mr. Clark?"

Anthony responded with a simple "Hmm" and gestured for the manager to lead the way.

The CEO was shocked, thinking, 'You bought this studio on a whim, and now you want to tour it personally?'

"Mr. Clark, it's just ahead," he said

"Stop." Anthony suddenly commanded, and everyone halted naturally.

The door to the studio in use was open, and from a distance of over ten meters, Anthony saw Jane inside.

She was wearing a smoky blue long dress and chunky heels, holding a camera with a long lens. She looked both elegant and professional.

Anthony rarely saw Jane in her serious work mode. This focused image of her fascinated him, yet also made him uneasy. He wished Jane could always be his princess, free from worldly troubles, always able to rely on him.

But reality repeatedly reminded Anthony that because of what he did to the Watkins family and Jane, his little princess had to grow up quickly.

Growing up isn't always a happy thing.

Because growing up means you've suffered and endured hardships.

"Mr. Clark," the CEO tried to say.

"Shh." At Anthony's "Shh," everyone fell silent. Even their breathing seemed lighter.

The group was anxious, thinking they had done something wrong to anger Anthony. But Anthony simply stood there, hands in his pockets, silently watching the studio.

On his usually cold and ruthless face, there seemed to be a hint of tenderness and infatuation at this moment.

It must be their imagination!

Anthony had bought this studio on a whim, knowing it was the best-equipped in Paykston. High-end commercial photographers rarely avoided this studio.

So, after purchasing it, he placed people there to report if Jane ever came.

Anthony didn't expect his luck to be so good, encountering Jane so soon.

But Jane didn't seem to be in a good mood, her lips slightly pursed, and her eyes listless as if looking at something idiotic.

The public often said Jane was perpetually cold and expressionless, but Anthony thought the opposite. To him, Jane had a rich array of expressions; you just had to observe closely to notice her subtle changes.

Those subtle expressions were both interesting and expressive. Like now, she seemed indifferent but was actually full of exasperation and impatience.

Sure enough, after a while, Jane put down the camera and started saying something.

Anthony was too far to hear her, but he could guess she was scolding someone.

The public said Jane had a bad temper and was overbearing, but she usually didn't provoke others first. Her overbearing nature was a response to being provoked.

They deserved her scolding.

"Mr. Clark, Ms. Johnson from the Johnson Group just arrived. She just left the parking lot." a subordinate reported.

"Delilah?" Anthony remembered anyone who had interacted with Jane.

The subordinate nodded. "Yes."

Anthony took one last deep look at Jane in the studio and then walked away.

"Mr. Clark, aren't you going in?" the CEO asked, puzzled.

Just looking from such a distance at the door? What could he see?

"Don't tell anyone I was here," Anthony ordered coldly.

"Yes!" the CEO replied.

'But why can't anyone know?' He didn't understand.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
