Chapter 1015 It was Anthony Clark

Jane had been to Fae City once before, during her freshman year when she accompanied a college professor on a field trip.

At that time, she had a film assignment and didn't have the time to explore the city lesiurely. Therefore, this visit could barely be considered her first real tour of the city.

Although Richard arrived in Fae City with Jane, he didn't accompany her all the time. Instead, he provided Jane with enough bodyguards to give her plenty of space to move around on her own.

Jane had once narcissistically wondered if Richard still had feelings for her. After all, there was the example of Debra, and Richard hadn't had any women around him over the years. He hadn't even had any scandals. But now, Jane suspected that Richard was only looking out for her out of respect for Jovan, treating her like a sister.

If Richard did have some affection for her, she had to admire his ability to manage social interactions, as well as his strong self-discipline and management skills.

Today, Jane visited two beautiful gardens, took many photos she was satisfied with, and then went to eat at a century-old local restaurant.

Halfway through her meal, Jane received a call from Natalie.

"Jane, congratulations, you're a godmother again!" Natalie's voice was gentle, filled with intense joy.

Jane was overjoyed. "You gave birth! Is it a boy or a girl?"

"A boy." Natalie looked at Oliver helplessly, who was standing by the hospital bed with a cold expression. She felt both amused and worried about her son's future.

'What if his father doesn't like him?' she thought.

"That's wonderful!"

Natalie could imagine Jane's teasing and excitement over the phone.

Natalie was both amused and helpless. 'Why does so many people want to see Oliver's long face?'

"So, when are you planning to come back to Paykston to see your godson?" Natalie took the opportunity to ask. She was worried about Jane.

Natalie knew Jane was hiding something from her, but both of them understood without saying it out loud.

This time, Jane didn't delay. "Tomorrow! I'll come back tomorrow to see my son and his mom!"

Natalie smiled with satisfaction, then noticed Oliver's gaze suddenly shift from their son to her.

The hospital room was very quiet, and the volume of the phone was neither too loud nor too soft. Oliver, with his keen hearing, had heard Jane's words clearly.

Oliver sarcastically asked Natalie, "Is Jane not fully awake? How could she say it's her son, but her son hasn't even been conceived yet!"

Jane was in a great mood when she returned to the hotel.

Richard happened to be reading in the library of the suite. Seeing Jane, he couldn't help but ask, "Why are you so happy?"

"Yes!" Jane beamed, "By the way, Mr. Foster, I want to go back to Paykston tomorrow. Is that convenient for you?"

Richard was a bit surprised but didn't refuse. He just asked, "Why the rush?"

"Natalie had a baby, and I'm going back to see my godson!" Jane instinctively tilted her head, showing a rare girlish demeanor. "Natalie and Oliver's son must be super handsome!"

Richard suppressed a smile, thinking that Jane probably hadn't seen a newborn before.

Newborns were never good-looking. They were all red and wrinkled from being in amniotic fluid for so long.

Newborns would become prettier when they were at least a month old.

"This hotel recently hired a new pastry chef from Michelin. Would you like to try some desserts before you leave, Ms. Watkins?" Richard suggested.

Jane, in a good mood and always interested in desserts, nodded in agreement.

Not far away, Richard's assistant silently thought, 'You've been waiting here all afternoon to create an coincidence. That Michelin chef was hired at a high price just yesterday specifically for Ms. Watkins.'

As someone close to Richard, although he acknowledged Jane's beauty and excellence, he still found it hard to understand why Richard would humble himself so much for a woman.

Richard silently watched over her for years, then silently took care of Jane, not even willing to cause her the slightest psychological pressure.

The pastry chef's signature dish was cheesecake.

"Not bad!" Jane was very satisfied with the dessert, perhaps because of her good mood.

"By the way, Mr. Foster, do you know who is trying to kidnap or kill me?"

Richard obviously knew but first asked, "What do you think?"

"My brother is now working for the Richardson family. Are those people enemies of the Richardson family?"

Jane was well aware of Jovan's abilities. Jovan who joined the Richardson family, undoubtedly made the Richardson family even stronger.

The current business market had limited space. If Jovan helped the Richardson family capture the market, it would inevitably affect others' interests.

Offending people naturally leaded to being targeted.

"Not entirely." Richard was very calm, as if discussing an academic issue. "There are two groups of people. One side is the rivals who want you, and the other is within the Richardson family, who want you dead."

Jane was shocked. "Within the Richardson family? How could that be? Is my brother safe?"

Richard found it amusing. "Ms. Watkins, when it comes to Jovan, you should be worried about those people's safety."

Jovan, being so smart and strategic, would never leave any loopholes.

Jovan's only weakness was the pampered Jane in front of him.

"The head of the Richardson family is Ainslee now. However, Ainslee is young and not interested in the family business, so some people want to take his place. Jovan is now helping Ainslee run the Richardson family, leaving those people no room for mischief. They know of your existence and are out to get you."

However, their move was really foolish.

If they harmed Jane, Jovan would lose patience and wouldn't play games with them anymore.

Although everyone would die sooner or later, one more day of life was one more day of happiness.

Unfortunately, those people were determined to die, and no one could stop them.

Family infighting was something Jane hadn't experienced much but she had heard a lot about.

"To avoid dragging my brother down, I will definitely protect myself well."

Richard found Jane's serious promise adorable, his happiness reaching his eyes, warm and affectionate.

Jane was about to say something to Richard when she suddenly caught a glimpse of a man out of the corner of her eye.

Anthony, wearing a trench coat, stood at the end of the tea room, tall and upright, with cold and stern features, his eyes icy as if covered with frost.

Anthony was staring at Jane without any concealment, like a wolf eyeing its prey trying to escape.

It was indeed Anthony.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
