Chapter 251 He Will Be Furious

Under usual circumstances, Lilian would have criticized the dish, saying it would spoil her appetite. However, at this moment, she desired nothing more than to sit down and eat to her heart's content.

The shrimp was both aromatic and tender. The tangy and sweet broth infused her mouth, delighting her taste buds and offering her the greatest culinary pleasure.

Her appetite increased, and she found herself unable to stop eating.

"Did you make this? It's amazing!" Lilian exclaimed after just three bites.

"What do you think? Did you think I conjured it out of thin air?” Lucas asked before he tapped the table and urged, “Hurry up and eat. Otherwise, it’ll get cold and won’t be as tasty anymore.”

Lillian was young and energetic in her actions but maintained proper etiquette when eating. She nodded and replied, “Okay.”

After some time, she asked, "Where did you learn to make this? It's so delicious! I want to learn."

Lucas smirked. "My sister taught me. It's a secret recipe. You’re not qualified to learn it yet."

"You!"

"Come on, eat up!"

Lilian forcefully set her spoon down on the table, expressing her frustration. She was torn between savoring the meal and standing her ground, but ultimately, the desire to satisfy her hunger won.

Lucas finished his meal swiftly. He sat across from Lilian and watched her attentively. Truthfully, if it were not for her animosity toward his sister, he would find her quite agreeable. Despite being somewhat spoiled and awkward, she was genuine and kind-hearted.

Meanwhile, Isaac and Wyatt were rather relaxed at work. However, acquiring shares of the Windsor Group. It was a complex task that required meticulous planning and negotiation.

RK Group had assembled an acquisition team, closely monitoring the stock market while communicating with several major shareholders of the Windsor Group. It was not easy to obtain even a mere ten percent of scattered shares.

Neither Isaac nor Wyatt kept their personal phones with them during work hours.

At the end of the day, they were surprised by the number of missed calls from Natalie on their phones, which they had just retrieved from their secretary.

"This person called several times today, but I didn’t feel it was appropriate to answer the calls without permission..." the secretary explained.

Isaac and Wyatt were concerned.

"Natalie? What could be Oliver's intention? Does she truly believe Oliver has been misled by the Windsor family?" Isaac mused out loud with a troubled expression on his face.

Wyatt sighed. "Aside from the acquisition, we’re in the dark about Oliver's detailed plans. Even Jamie and Charles are unreachable, likely busy with tasks assigned by Oliver. That's his style. Do you think he’d share his plans with Natalie?"

"You have a point. However, seeing how worried Natalie is, I feel she’s a little pitiful!"

Wyatt made a call to someone to check on Natalie's condition. After gathering the information, his face showed a mix of emotions.

"She went to see him this afternoon. Roger helped her."

"If Oliver finds out, he’ll be furious!"

Meanwhile, a man with a cold and dangerous aura entered the Paykston police station. His associate spoke with someone at the station, and soon, someone escorted the man to the holding cells.

Oliver, sitting lazily on a bench, had anticipated a visitor from the Windsor family coming to negotiate with him. However, upon seeing the visitor, he narrowed his eyes and said in a low voice, "Roger."

Roger signaled to his subordinate outside, who quietly spoke to the guard.

“We need some privacy."

Following that, without a word, Roger strode forward and threw a punch at Oliver.

Oliver quickly dodged, moving away and avoiding a chair that was kicked in his direction.

Roger followed up with another kick, smashing the chair against the wall.

"Mr. Windsor, enjoying your time here? You’re engaged in schemes, trying to get rid of people, but why leave Natalie in the dark?” Roger said mockingly as he stared at Oliver, “Do you know that Natalie begged me for help? She wouldn’t have done so if she hadn’t been desperate. If you don’t cherish her, then return her to me!”

Both men were formidable in their own right, and Roger was well aware of Oliver's capabilities. How could Oliver be easily trapped? He surmised that Oliver’s choice to quietly stay here was a strategic move, biding his time for a decisive counterstrike.

"So it was you who arranged for her to come here?” Oliver's anger was palpable.

"Yes. You’re doing well here while you delegate tasks to your subordinates. Did you really think Natalie would just patiently wait, unaffected and indifferent?"

Oliver stood frozen. Not only was he jealous of Roger, but he was also angry at himself for neglecting Natalie’s feelings. He had not considered the impact his situation might have on Natalie. He had heard crying last night. His frustration grew, realizing his regret was now overshadowing his jealousy.

After their meal, Lucas headed to the kitchen to do the dishes. Before that, he reminded Lilian, “You should wipe the table.”

"Okay."

Having spent the afternoon doing housework, it dawned on Lilian only after she had meticulously cleaned the table that she had started to comply with Lucas's instructions. When had she become someone who obeyed his commands? This realization was vexing!

As the cherished daughter of the Norton family, she was treated almost like a princess. However, she found herself taking orders from him. He had made her do household chores all afternoon, and now he suddenly decided to do the dishes. She wondered if he suddenly had a guilty conscience.

Lilian, feeling skeptical, walked into the kitchen.

It had only been a few minutes, but Lucas had already washed two bowls and was now washing a pot skillfully.

"Do you often do the dishes?" Lilian asked curiously, "Doesn't Natalie do them?"

"Dishwashing isn't kind to her hands. I’ll never let my sister do the dishes if I’m around," Lucas said as he glanced at Lillian indifferently, filling the sink with water, “It seems like your cousin doesn’t cherish you as much.”
