Chapter 351 Nickname

"Huh?"

Charles blinked a few times, ensuring he was not mistaken. He looked at Oliver pointing at the copy of Bazaar featuring Natalie on the cover.

‘So he wants everyone to receive a copy of the magazine?’

Half an hour later.

The top executives, who were accustomed to financial magazines and real-time newspapers, appeared confused when Charles distributed fashion magazines to all of them.

One of them asked, filled with uncertainty, "Mr. Windsor, are we planning to collaborate with this magazine?"

Oliver glanced at him and calmly replied, “No. The magazine cover features my wife. Everyone should have a look.”

‘Are you trying to flaunt your love?’

‘Have you forgotten about who was embroiled in rumors about divorce and infidelity just a few days ago?’

‘Do you think you’re the only one with a wife?’

Oliver’s actions swiftly spread throughout RK headquarters like a virus, leading all department heads to purchase magazines to share with their subordinates, encouraging everyone to admire the chairman’s wife’s beauty.

With the boost in sales, Natalie became incredibly popular. This particular issue of Bazaar broke sales records on the same day.

Those initially jealous mocked Natalie, a notable figure in the fashion industry, accusing her of using dirty means to boost sales. However, not long after that, several brands and top magazines reached out to Natalie, inviting her for photoshoots and silencing the haters.

Natalie's photoshoot was genuinely exceptional. She garnered praise from professionals both domestically and internationally. Her portrayal as a fallen angel set a new trend in the fashion industry, becoming an iconic shoot and officially opening doors for Natalie's international career. However, these stories were for another time.

The production team of Fun Challenge had invited Susan because they anticipated a fierce rivalry between Susan and Natalie. Contrary to their expectations, Susan and Natalie interacted amicably, much to their disappointment.

‘Do they have no issue at all?’

‘Should we just continue filming Natalie and Jane scolding Jacob? Although it’s funny, it’s no longer fresh…’

Soon after, the production team found something interesting.

This episode featured various prop-based activities and several outdoor competitions, designed to captivate the audience with their intensity and excitement.

The first competition was archery, which utilized modified bows and arrows, making the event even more thrilling than video games.

It was challenging to film the scene.

Sharon's team dispatched their photographer, but their performance was underwhelming, with only three out of five arrows hitting the target.

Barrett, known for his time spent at shooting ranges engaging with guns and arrows, expected impressive results. He achieved three bullseyes and two close shots, which were decent results.

Barrett had anticipated Jacob's participation but was taken aback when Jane stepped up instead. His disdainful expression was captured on camera during the live broadcast.

Upon seeing this, someone commented: [Based on previous experiences, those who doubt Natalie and Jane would soon be proven wrong!]

Jane only glanced at Barrett and smirked before she took her position casually. Without any unnecessary posturing, she released five arrows in quick succession, each striking with swift and decisive precision.

The room fell silent until the staff announced that Jane had scored fifty points with all bullseyes.

Natalie, seizing the moment, said, “Barrett, you don’t know this, but Jane found shooting guns boring and switched to archery in high school.”

“She found it boring?” Barrett was shocked.

The atmosphere in the live broadcast room was filled with laughter:

[Hahaha, the look on Barrett's face! It’s as if he’s questioning his life! Feels oddly relatable.]

[Look at Jacob! Look at how calm he is! It’s as though he’s looking at his past self!]

[This program has completely changed my view of socialites! Jane is so freaking amazing!]

[This program should introduce a segment titled ‘Proving People Wrong’! Hahaha!]

The team that achieved the highest score earned the privilege of selecting props first.

Jane was the first, and she chose men’s clothing.

Meanwhile, Barrett was still in shock from the sudden turn of events.

Natalie and Jane exchanged a look and laughed.

Feeling a sense of embarrassment from being outperformed, Barrett experienced a slight sting to his pride. He approached Jacob and asked, "Why didn’t you join earlier? I heard you like archery.”

The team with the highest score had the first pick for props.

In Jacob's opinion, the decision to participate had nothing to do with ‘like’. He could not compare to Jane and Natalie after all. With that, he thought it was okay to play the role of a silent and passive handsome man.

"Didn’t you watch the show prior to coming here?”

"Why would I? Do you think I have nothing better to do?” Barrett retorted. His participation in the show was purely on his agent's advice, suggesting it would elevate his popularity and prove to be enjoyable.

However, instead of finding it enjoyable, he only found himself to be the subject of ridicule!

Jacob felt no pity for Barrett. He said, “It’s not about that. It’s about passion and commitment.”

"In any case, welcome to my world!” Jacob said before he left, leaving Barrett puzzled.

Both the production team on set and the audience watching the live stream struggled to contain their laughter.

For the remainder of the day, Barrett finally understood the meaning behind Jacob's words. In the subsequent segments of the show, Natalie's team managed to claim all the male wardrobe props once again.

Faced with the choice of donning a floral dress or a pair of red shorts the next day, Barrett was rendered speechless.

"Jane, are you targeting me?" Barrett exclaimed, tugging at his hair in frustration.

"Ah! Barrett, you actually noticed!" Jane feigned astonishment and asked, "Do you know why though?"

Barrett was genuinely clueless. He pondered over what could have possibly drawn Jane's attention toward him, given they had no prior interactions or connections.

Jacob observed Barrett, deep in thought. ‘Did Barrett look down on Jane and Natalie like I did when I first joined the team? In any case, women can be terrifying when they want to be!’

"Barrett, have you somehow offended Jane or Natalie? Do you share any history with them?" Jacob asked, trying to be kind to someone who was experiencing what he had once experienced.

After considering for a moment, Barrett asked Jane, "Are you doing this for Natalie?"

Wealthy heirs like Barrett were indifferent to public opinion, and he spoke his mind freely. Jane, accustomed to disdain and mockery, was even less concerned.

Jane saw Natalie nodding at her. Then, with an expression that said, ‘You’re not as dumb as I thought’, she said, “Yes.”

Barrett was taken aback. He pointed at Natalie and accused Jane, "You're helping her vent? She won five or six million from me during poker and even tossed a check in my face! I’m still furious about that! Why are you helping her vent? She’s the one who insulted me!”

"Natalie, you know how to play poker?” Jane looked at Natalie in surprise.

Natalie responded, "Oliver taught me. He had me play on his behalf last time."

Jane tsked and shook her head in disbelief. "Barrett, if I were in your shoes, I would keep this to myself. Natalie won a significant amount from you despite being a novice, and she even returned the money to you. It’s really quite embarrassing for you.”

Barrett no longer wanted to talk to Jane and Natalie. If it were another person, he would have confidently stood his ground. However, confronted by Natalie, who had Oliver behind her, he found himself feeling utterly powerless.

Meanwhile, the live stream chat was buzzing with activity.

[Five to six million? Natalie, I want to be insulted as well!]

[Who else wants to be insulted in exchange for money?]

[It’s so cute that Oliver taught his wife to play poker!]

[I guess this means Oliver has introduced Natalie to people in his circle?]

The production team was at a loss for words, wondering how a fashion variety show turned into a comedy with this particular group of guests.

Barrett was depressed.

When the day's filming concluded, Barrett revisited clips from the previous two episodes. He felt compelled to have a heart-to-heart conversation with Jacob, who had faced similar hardships.

"How did you manage to cope with these two women before I came?" Barrett asked gloomily.

Jacob patted Barrett's shoulder and said with a reassuring smile, "I don’t know. I only know life will be easier for me now that you’ve come.”

Barrett's expression immediately turned frosty. He thought to himself in despair, ‘I’ll have to wear women’s clothing tomorrow. It’s going to be embarrassing!’

Shortly after filming wrapped up, Oliver's call came through.

"Hello."

Natalie was not at home, so Oliver was not in a rush to return to Rosewood Estate. He remained in his office, listening to Natalie's voice over the phone, which was soft and gentle like the breeze.

"Are you outside?" Oliver asked.

"Yes, we've just wrapped up filming," Natalie responded as she stood at the beach to watch the sunset.

The production team was busy packing equipment and moving about hurriedly. The director was deep in discussion. This moment afforded the guests a bit of leisure.

Susan, pretending to sip her water, kept her eyes on Natalie. She could not tell who Natalie was speaking to, but her intuition told her it was Oliver! Her grip on her glass tightened. She dialed Oliver's private number, only to be greeted by an automated message stating the line was busy. Undeterred, Susan tried again after a pause, only to be met with the same message. With a heavy heart, she ended the call.

Oliver, his gaze fixed on the darkening sky, sent a message using another phone as he asked, “Mrs. Windsor, have you decided on how to address your husband?”

Natalie glanced down at a small stone by her feet, giving it a gentle kick as though it was Oliver.

Previously, under his coercion, she had called him ‘Darling’. She thought about it for a moment before she asked playfully, “What about Oli or Little Baby? Both have a nice ring to them. Which do you prefer?”

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
