Chapter 767 Jovan in Critical Condition

“Jane!” Ann angrily cut Jane's words. She could tell that Jane cursed Anthony and mocked him.

"What's the matter, Mrs. Clark? It's quite embarrassing for you to shout my name into the microphone. After all, today isn't my engagement banquet, and I don't want to become your daughter-in-law. Don't cause misunderstandings," Jane said sarcastically. She claimed to be embarrassed, but her attitude and behavior said otherwise.

Jane’s statement instantly exposed Ann's lies, indicating that Jane had no intention of causing trouble, and even if Anthony wanted to marry her, she would refuse. But in all honesty, Jane felt guilty toward Aurora. After all, she didn’t do anything to offend her, yet Jane had disrupted her engagement banquet. But Jane shouldn’t carry all the blame. It was mostly because of Ann’s despicable plot.

Hearing the quarrel, Natalie, standing in the crowd, couldn't help but give Jane a thumbs-up, praising her. Meanwhile, the guests were startled by Natalie’s action. They thought Natalie was reckless, openly supporting Jane and embarrassing Ann. The thumbs-up was what they worried most. Sure enough, Ann's face turned red from anger.

As for Richard, he looked at Jane beside him and smiled. Ann probably regretted her decision to bring Jane to the engagement. She was foolish to think Jane was helpless and easy to deal with.

Aurora bit her lip, and her fingers started trembling. She couldn't understand why Jane sabotaged her engagement. ‘You’ve won Anthony's heart. But that doesn’t give you the right to embarrass me publicly. Are you always this arrogant just because you used to be a socialite? This is my engagement party!’

With how ridiculous things had happened at the engagement and the groom’s absence, the entire upper-class guests quickly knew the engagement had ended. But even if it was a disaster, Anthony and Aurora’s parents still approved their marriage. As for why Anthony didn’t come, people speculated privately, but no one knew the true reason.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise. A vase shattered on the floor, accompanied by Ann's angry curses as she walked away. No one understood what she was cursing about.

Sadie sighed and advised, "Mrs. Clark, Ms. Dewar will be here soon. It's better not to let her see you like this, to avoid being seen as a wicked mother-in-law."

Ann took a deep breath, controlled her anger, and asked, "Have they found Anthony?"

"Not yet, Ma’am." Sadie was a maid of The Clark family. She had been with Ann for years, almost like her personal assistant.

After a while, someone finally delivered the news. "Mrs. Clark, your son is currently heading to Moalia."

"Moalia? This family doesn't have any business in Moalia. What is he doing there?" Ann pondered, "He abandoned his wife on purpose and went abroad? This is ridiculous!" the more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Jane angered her, and Anthony always caused her trouble.

"Mrs. Clark, Ms. Dewar is only Mr. Clark's fiancée. They aren’t married yet. If you directly refer to her as his wife, I’m afraid he won't be pleased," Sadie reminded.

"Well, this disaster doesn’t please me either!" Although Ann said that, her expression was somewhat odd. She seemed to agree with Sadie's words.

"Mrs. Clark!" Aurora changed out of her formal dress into a Gucci skirt.

When Ann saw Aurora, her expression softened slightly. "Aurora, you're here! I'm sorry I caused you trouble today. I just found out that Anthony went to Moalia. He must have something urgent to attend to with work. He doesn’t intend to leave you alone."

Aurora gave a miserable smile. She knew Anthony did it on purpose. She remembered him giving her two options, and he went with the first one. But, if Anthony didn't go to Moalia, would he still abandon her and let her embarrassingly complete the engagement alone? This question became a glimmer of hope that he wouldn't abandon her.

"Mrs. Clark, I heard Ms. Watkins' brother is undergoing treatment in Moalia. I have a friend who happens to be a medical expert there and was told about his critical condition a few days ago. Perhaps your son is going to Moalia to visit Ms. Watkins' brother."

"Jovan is dying? That's great! It would be unfair if only Jane's father died. Jovan has to die too." Ann felt her anger instantly disappear by half. She held Aurora's hand and continued, "Aurora, rest assured, Anthony couldn't possibly go to visit Jovan. They hate each other!"

The plane to Moalia landed. Clint checked the video sent from the manor first. It contained all of Jane’s footage. He gave it all to Anthony to see. On their way to where Jovan was treated, Anthony watched all the videos. Some were shot from a distance, only Jane’s vague silhouette could be seen, but Anthony still attentively watched it. Others might think Anthony had become a creep, but Clint was used to his behavior. He didn’t seem concerned at all.
In the first two years after Anthony and Jane parted, he couldn't bear to hear anything about Jane. Even hearing her name would turn Anthony’s face livid. Perhaps he realized that parting ways was the worst decision he made. Anthony began to spy on her after discovering he couldn't move on from the woman he loved deeply.
"What is she saying?" Anthony passed a video to Clint. From his cold tone, Clint knew it wasn't something pleasant. Sure enough, upon watching it, he found it was indeed an unpleasant video. Jane was talking to Richard.
"What is Jane saying?" Anthony repeated his question.
Clint could read lips. He watched the video again, cleared his throat, and answered, "Mr. Clark, don’t you read lips too? Why don't you-"
"Answer me!"
"Ms. Watkins said..."
"Did you bump your head? Or do you need help rearranging your thought process?" Anthony's patience had run out. He couldn’t believe what he saw.
"Ms. Watkins said she fell in love with you because she was naive and didn’t know any better." Clint cautiously finished the sentence, feeling he was done for. He felt Jane always brought him bad things.

Since knowing Jane, Clint learned to fight, clean up someone’s mess, and act hastily. Even he had to get caught in her quarrel with Anthony. All of that and Jane didn't pay him a dime. Anthony's face looked frustrated.
