Chapter 1135 Give Me a Daughter

Under the lanterns, the evening traffic turned the city into a gridlock, barely moving an inch for a long time.

Jane looked at the bustling traffic outside the window, her irritation gradually rising.

She dialed Natalie’s number, and it was quickly answered.

"Natalie, can you come out for a drink now?" Jane asked.

Natalie paused for a moment, quickly gauging Jane's mood from her brief words, and made a decision. "Of course."

Soon, Natalie received an address from Jane, a high-end bar where Oliver had a stake.

"Where are you going?" Oliver looked up, closed the tablet on his lap, and set it aside.

Oliver's demeanor was calm, but Natalie couldn't shake the feeling that he was suspicious of her cheating.

Feeling a bit uneasy, Natalie pointed outside, "Jane seems to be in a bad mood; I'm going out to keep her company."

Oliver had come home early today to have dinner with Natalie, only to find someone else had beaten him to it.

Oliver looked at Natalie with displeasure.

Natalie gave a guilty smile, leaned in, sat beside Oliver, and wrapped her slender arms around his neck, speaking to him gently, "Oliver, Jane really doesn't sound right. She wouldn't ask me out for a drink for no reason."

Oliver raised an eyebrow. "A drink?"

Oliver pinched her cheek and clicked his tongue. "Natalie, you've got some nerve, thinking about drinking."

Natalie thought to herself, 'I already drink, and I'm not bad at it.'

But she knew better than to say that out loud for Oliver to hear.

"Just this once, Oliver." She pleaded.

"Sit properly. Talk properly. Acting cute won't work." Oliver said coldly, "What have you been learning from Lilian all day?"

Acting cute was Lilian's forte, and she had specifically taught Natalie before.

At first, Natalie was a bit shy, but after a few tries, she became more adept.

"Doesn't it make you happy?" Natalie knew that Oliver actually enjoyed her acting cute.

Oliver thought, 'Of course it does. It makes me happy. All men like this, don't they?

"Don't worry, I'll be back in a few hours. I won't drink much, and that bar is your place." Natalie assured Oliver.

Oliver, worn down by Natalie, was very unhappy and unwilling to let her go, but he also knew how important Jane was to Natalie.

Even if he didn't let her go today, Natalie would still be worried about Jane.

"Nathan, your mom's leaving you to go out drinking." Oliver was trying to bring Nathan to his side.

Nathan, who was playing with toys on the carpet, looked up at Oliver, then turned his gaze to Natalie after a couple of seconds, thinking for a moment.

Nathan stretched out his little arms, wanting Natalie to hold him.

Oliver looked at Nathan and continued, "You better keep an eye on your mom today."

Nathan's face showed no expression, but he quickly responded to Oliver's words.

The chubby little body flipped over on the carpet, and arms and legs moved simultaneously. It crawled towards Natalie like a nimble little meatball.

Natalie bent down to pick Nathan up and sat him on her lap.

Nathan immediately hugged Natalie's neck tightly, not wanting her to leave.

Oliver's plan succeeded. He sat cross-legged to the side, with a slight smile on his face. He was very satisfied with Nathan at this moment, feeling that raising him had some use after all.

Natalie glared at Oliver and then explained to Nathan, "Nathan, I have to go out for a bit. I'll be back after I'm done. Can you wait for Mommy at home? If you're bored, you can ask Daddy to play with you."

When Natalie mentioned Oliver, Nathan glanced at him, then shook his head.

'No! I don't want to play with Oliver!' He thought.

Oliver clicked his tongue, and said to Nathan, "Even if you beg me, I won't play with you."

One-year-old Nathan couldn't speak clearly, but he understood what the adults were saying, and he definitely understood that Oliver was disdaining him.

Nathan's face almost showed the same disdainful expression as Oliver's at that moment.

Natalie was used to the way Oliver and Nathan interacted, finding it nothing unusual.

"Nathan, can mommy go out? Mommy will come back later to be with you." Natalie continued to patiently reassure Nathan.

Nathan tilted his head, seemingly thinking about what Natalie had just said.

After about half a minute, Nathan nodded and slowly said, "Mommy, sleep!"

When Nathan said this, he hugged Natalie tightly.

It meant that Nathan wanted to sleep with Mommy tonight!

Both Natalie and Oliver understood what Nathan meant.

"Alright," Natalie said.

"Nathan, you're already one year old and still sleeping with your mom. Aren't you ashamed?" Oliver teased.

Nathan didn't care what Oliver said; he wasn't sleeping with Oliver anyway, and he immediately smiled satisfiedly at Natalie.

He then turned to Oliver, stretching out his chubby little arms, waiting for Oliver to pick him up because Natalie said she was going out!

"Want me to hold you?" Oliver looked at Nathan with displeasure, as if looking at a little traitor. "In your dreams."

Nathan waited for a while, his arms getting tired from holding them up, and very sensibly slid down from Natalie's lap, returning to the carpet to continue playing with his toys, as is to say, "Fine; if you don't hold me, then don't!"

Natalie tried to hold back her laughter but couldn't, laughing out loud at the scene. This pair was really like enemies!

Oliver was very angry, but there was nothing he could do about Nathan. Where did he get this bad temper from? Scolding him had no effect, and he was too young to be hit.

"Natalie, you must give me a daughter this year," Oliver said through gritted teeth.

Nathan was too infuriating, so different from Arthur's daughter!

"Do you think I can just have a baby whenever I want?" Natalie retorted.

She meant that she couldn't control the gender, but her words came out differently.

Sure enough, Oliver felt challenged and grabbed Natalie's waist, his voice low and his lips almost touching hers.

Oliver said, "We'll see if we can, won't we?"

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
