Chapter 956: Care

"Sadie, what are you doing here? Did I wake you?" Aurora asked apologetically.

Sadie shook her head and helped Aurora back to her room.

"Ms. Dewar, do you need me to call a doctor? You don't look well." Although Sadie didn't think much of Aurora's frequent health issues and her restless behavior, Anthony had made it clear that Aurora needed to safely deliver the baby. So, Sadie couldn't let anything happen to Aurora.

"No, thank you, Sadie. I know my body." Aurora said as Sadie helped her onto the bed. "Calling a doctor at this time would disturb Ann."

She was now presenting an image of a considerate wife-to-be of Anthony.

Sadie nodded and didn't say more, telling Aurora to call her if she needed anything.

Aurora sat on the bed, feeling the movements in her abdomen. Her stomach felt a bit uncomfortable, but it wasn't a big issue, probably just a result of her earlier agitation.

Pregnant women were fragile, but not as fragile as people often think.

Aurora hadn't expected that despite all her precautions, she still couldn't prevent Jane and Anthony from meeting alone.

Aurora knew that Anthony probably didn't like her much right now and he still had feelings for Jane. But in this high-society circle, how many couples liked each other when they got married? Many couples who started without a foundation of love ended up getting along well for decades, and many developed feelings after marriage.

Love was something that grew over time.

‘Anthony likes Jane because of the many years he has spent by her side,’ Aurora thought.

"Baby, you have to be strong. You have to make me proud and be born safely, okay?" Aurora spoke to the baby in her belly, but her mind was filled with the image of Jane opening the door an hour earlier.

Jane had dressed like that to be alone with Anthony!

Aurora didn't notice that her originally gentle eyes had turned cold and sharp.

The next day.

Jane got up and happened to see a doctor and two nurses coming downstairs after a follow-up visit with Aurora. Their relaxed expressions indicated that Aurora's health hadn't been affected by last night's unexpected confrontation.

Jane breathed a sigh of relief.

Ann, worried about Aurora and her future grandchild, was still in Aurora's room, keeping her company during breakfast. The only person in the dining room was Anthony.

"Awake?" Anthony glanced at the time. It was not yet eight o'clock.

Anthony was still not used to Jane getting up early, especially after the drama of the previous night.

Jane ignored Anthony. Sadie, standing nearby, said, "Ms. Watkins, breakfast is still heated. You should eat it in time."

Not wanting to offend Sadie, Jane walked over and sat down at the table.

The Clark family's breakfast was traditional with fried eggs, pancakes, waffles, bread, jam, milk, sandwiches...

Having learned the most comprehensive etiquette, Jane could immediately tell if the dishes and their combinations were appropriate.

For example, the breakfast in front of her had a glaring issue that it lacked oatmeal.

Typically, a breakfast like this should at least include oatmeal.

Jane remembered Anthony's earlier promise that the oatmeal, which made her nauseous, would no longer appear in front of her.

Jane felt a fleeting sense of being cared for.
