Chapter 811 Baby, I Just Want to Keep You by My Side
Lilian immediately said, "That's right, Natalie, you can't get out of bed now. Casey is in the room next door, and she hasn't woken up yet. It won't help even if you rush to her now."
If Oliver had been the only one there, Natalie might have been stubborn again, but she did not want Lilian to witness any conflict between her and Oliver. She asked, "How is Casey's condition?"
"She has a broken hand bone and was stabbed in the waist, but fortunately, nothing critical was injured. It's no big problem. She just needs more rest," Lilian replied with a sigh, "Casey is amazing; she didn't even scream once from the cleaning up to going into the operating room. It was painful just watching her."
After a moment, Lilian looked at Natalie's abdomen excitedly and asked, "Natalie, is there a little boy or a little girl in your belly?"
Oliver quietly observed Natalie's reaction.
Natalie’s body stiffened for a moment, and she coldly shook her head and said, "I don't know."
"Oh!" Lilian sighed in disappointment, then quickly brightened up again, saying, "Natalie, you're so beautiful, and Oliver is so handsome. Your baby will definitely be super cute! It'll be the cutest baby I have ever seen!"
"It's late now. You should go rest," Natalie said with a weak voice due to morning sickness, not wanting to indulge Lilian's fantasies about the future child. She also worried that if Lilian stayed longer, Lilian would notice the strained relationship between her and Oliver.
They were now in Forinland, and involving Lilian’s parents would require more effort from everyone.
"Alright," Lilian reluctantly said, bidding goodbye to Natalie and Oliver and promising to return the next morning.
The hospital room became quiet.
"You should leave too," Natalie told Oliver, dismissing him.
"I'm your husband and the father of your child. Where should I go?" Oliver responded, feeling at ease only when he could keep an eye on Natalie.
"Go wherever you want." Natalie pulled the blanket over herself, closed her eyes, and ignored Oliver as if he were nonexistent. She thought that there was only one bed here and that if he wanted to stay, he could sit through the night.
After a while, Natalie faintly felt movement behind her.
Oliver washed up briefly, then carefully lifted the blanket and lay down next to Natalie.
Natalie had not reacted yet, but her body was already enveloped in a warm embrace.
Before she could tell him to let go of her, she heard him whispering tenderly from behind, "Natalie."
Natalie felt a tremor in her heart, and the words she was about to speak retreated.
'Forget it, what can I say? He's domineering and arrogant. He won't actually let me go just because I told him to… just like how he concealed things from me when I told him not to…'
Oliver gently placed his hand on Natalie's stomach, which was flat and empty due to her lack of appetite. He asked, "Are you hungry? The head chef is here."
Natalie's body stiffened a bit when he approached, and it was normal for him to notice that she was not asleep.
Outside, it began to rain.
The raindrops, large as beans, pitter-pattered against the French window.
"Oliver," Natalie said, "Aren't you going to give me an explanation?"
"What explanation?"
"Why did you hide this from me?" Pain tore through Natalie’s heart.
Being pregnant and having a child should be a joyous occasion, but she felt deceived.
Oliver kissed her hair as he held her in his arms.
He fell into silence.
Natalie took a deep breath and asked softly, "Oliver, can I still trust you?"
"Yes." Oliver hugged her tightly.
"But you... You make me feel so insecure. You lied to me over and over again! How can I trust you again? The last time I asked you if I could trust you, you said yes, but you lied to me! You conspired with so many people to deceive me! Why didn't you tell me? Why did you deceive me? Oliver, how can you expect me to trust you again?!"
He paused for a moment before he replied, "I'll make you trust me again."
"What actions can you take to regain my trust?" Natalie sneered and said, "You really are beyond redemption!"
The rain grew heavier, accompanied by lightning and thunder.
Natalie was likely exhausted as her breathing gradually became steady and she fell asleep.
Oliver sighed and propped himself up to stare at Natalie's sleeping face in the dim light.
"Baby, I just wanted to keep you with me. You can hate me, but please don't leave me, okay? I won't give you a chance to leave me."
Because he was worried about Natalie, Oliver had a restless night.
In the middle of the night, Oliver suddenly felt the person in his arms trembling. He looked down and saw tears streaming down Natalie's face, wetting her pillow, hair, and even her body, which had become warm and covered in a thin layer of sweat.
"Natalie! Natalie, wake up!"
Natalie opened her eyes in fear and stared blankly at the man who was looking at her with concern. It took her a while to react.
Oliver gently kissed away her tears and asked, "Why are you crying?"
"Aren't you afraid of me saying something hurtful to you?"
When she was asleep, she was gentle and harmless, but now she had turned into a prickly hedgehog, full of thorns after being deceived.
"Natalie, even if you want to stab me now, I'll accept it. Why would I be afraid of you hurting me with your words?"
Natalie's heart trembled, realizing for the first time how paranoid Oliver could be.
"I had a nightmare," Natalie closed her eyes and said seemingly to herself, "I dreamed that Casey didn't save me in time, and I fell from the stage. The broken platform pierced my abdomen, and I lost the baby, and I was lying in the operating room..."
"Enough!" Oliver said, raising his voice to put a stop to her words.
Natalie appeared calm, while Oliver seemed tense as if he was about to explode. He was clearly suppressing something.
"Natalie, I won't let that model get away with it," Oliver said, kissing Natalie's forehead, promising not to let her suffer.
"It's not her," Natalie corrected him, saying, "It's Nora. She's the one who pushed me."
Oliver nodded without hesitation. "Alright."
This meant that he would make Nora pay.
The information Oliver had found earlier was that a model named Rose had pushed Natalie on stage. But since Natalie mentioned Nora, he would make sure that Nora faced the consequences as well.
"Aren't you worried that I'm falsely accusing Nora?" Natalie turned her head to look at him and said, "What if I'm just slandering her?"
Many people could see that Natalie and Nora did not get along.
"You can slander her as much as you want."
Oliver did not care about the truth. All he cared about was whether his beloved was happy or not.
Natalie did not sleep well during the first half of the night but eventually slept through until morning.
At some point, Oliver received a call from Isaiah and went out to answer it.
Isaiah and Wisdom Jade knew about Natalie falling off the runway and wanted to know the details. They also asked if it was convenient for them to come and visit.
"It’s not convenient."
Oliver could tell that Natalie did not want to receive visitors, and her physical condition was not suitable for it either.
