Chapter 1151 Jane, Your Ex-Boyfriend

"But I remember the Clark family's business was mainly concentrated in the Southeast and Australia," Jane voiced.

Anthony's expression remained unchanged. "That was before."

It always felt like when Anthony said this, there was a hint of "I'm richer now, and my business is broader."

"Alright then, goodbye, and good luck with your work," Jane said. "Thanks for today, I'll see you out."

Jane had just taken a step when Anthony stopped her. He said, "No need to see me out."

He looked Jane up and down and said with a slight frown, "Don't run around in a bathrobe."

She had just walked to the door of the room; how was that running around?

And besides, wearing a bathrobe wasn't the same as not wearing clothes. Walking outside the room in a bathrobe was quite normal.

Moreover, there were fewer rooms on the suite floor and even fewer guests. Even if Jane stood outside for ten minutes, she might not see a single person.

'Anthony is just old-fashioned!' Jane thought.

Before leaving, Anthony adjusted the central air conditioning in the room, raising the temperature by two degrees.

Jane leaned against the dining table, pondering for a while. Although Anthony's appearance today seemed a bit strange, his behavior was nothing odd.

Anthony seemed like a normal ex-boyfriend who had completely said goodbye to his ex-girlfriend.

And a gentlemanly ex-boyfriend who was willing to lend a helping hand to his ex-girlfriend.

Although Jane knew very well that Anthony had nothing to do with being a gentleman.

Jane picked up the phone to call room service, but suddenly paused and looked at the phone in her hand.

'This isn't my phone! It is Anthony's.' Then Jane immediately walked to the door.

"Hey! Your phone..." Jane opened the door, but there was no one outside.

A tall man with long legs, did he walk that fast?

Jane grabbed the phone and chased after him. Seeing Anthony at the elevator, she shouted, "Anthony, you left your phone with me!"

"28th floor, arriving!" A mechanical female voice announced from the elevator.

Two men and a woman walked out; seeing Anthony and Jane, they were all stunned.

One of the men was a male model, and the other two were well-known photographers in the industry and the chief planners of this documentary.

They recognized Jane and were about to speak when a shadow flashed before their eyes.

In a flash, Jane was wrapped in a man's long trench coat.

Anthony had her completely shielded. Only a bit of her hair was visible.

"This..." The chief planner was stunned.

The protective stance was too obvious.

Anthony didn't give them a chance to speak, just nodded at them and moved Jane aside.

His gaze was cold, as if they had seen something they shouldn't have, and even one more look might get their eyes gouged out.

The message was clear: You three can leave now.

The three of them exchanged glances, all smart enough to smile knowingly and leave as if they had seen nothing.

A few steps away, the male model asked, "Was that Jane just now? I didn't see wrong, did I?"

Since he was in the same industry as Natalie, people in the modeling world more or less recognized Jane's face.

"Yes," the photographer nodded. "But just now, she and that man..."

Everyone understood what wasn't said.

The chief planner said, "Shh! That man seems to be Anthony."

"Really? I thought they broke up?"

"Did Anthony's stance just now look like they broke up? Or like he was willing to break up?"

"Anthony, what are you doing? Let go of me!" Jane shouted.

She struggled free. Anthony had wrapped her up without any explanation. Now, those three had already left.

"You're coming out dressed like this?" Anthony frowned.

"I was in a hurry to return your phone!" Besides, she was decently dressed, only showing her calves under the bathrobe. What was wrong with that?

"And you think that's reasonable?" Anthony's face showed anger.

"I am reasonable!" Jane said confidently, shoving the phone back to Anthony. "Here!"

Then she stormed back to her room.

From the moment she saw her colleagues, Jane had only one thought, 'It's over. My reputation was ruined.'

She had a chance to explain. She was openly returning Anthony's phone, there was nothing shady about it.

But now, thanks to Anthony's actions, she had no chance to explain.

Those three only saw her in a bathrobe, wearing slippers, holding another man's phone.

The male model and the chief planner might not know her well, but the photographer was a gossip-loving middle-aged man.

There was a high probability that Jane would be the subject of his gossip for the next week.

The memory of that evening was so vivid that Jane even dreamed of her colleagues teasing her about Anthony.

In the dream, Anthony looked at her coldly, questioning, "Is this what you call a clean break? Jane, if you want to get back together, ask."

Jane woke up in fright.

The next morning, everyone saw Jane with dark circles, listlessly drinking coffee at the table.

"Jane, you don't look well," Lester said, bringing her a sandwich. "Were you up to no good last night?"

"I had a nightmare," Jane said weakly.

The rest of the studio suddenly all looked at Jane.

"What?" Jane asked.

"Jane, your ex-boyfriend," someone whispered to her.

Anthony and Clint walked into the restaurant one after the other. Anthony quickly grabbed a cup of black coffee and a matching breakfast, then sat at a nearby table.

The whole process was so unremarkable. Anthony really had no demands when it came to food.

"Let him come, I'm not afraid..." Jane hadn't finished her sentence when Anthony suddenly turned and locked eyes with her.

Lester and the others exchanged glances, feeling that the atmosphere between Jane and Anthony was very strange.

"Jane!"

A middle-aged man, Miles Grayson, walked over with a cup, his face full of wrinkles from smiling.

"Good morning, Mr. Grayson." Jane stood up to greet him.

Miles was the photographer who had accidentally seen Jane returning Anthony's phone yesterday.

Miles sat down next to Jane and said, "Don't be nervous; I'm just here to chat."

Jane thought, 'It's over.'

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
