Chapter 279 Did You Think I Wanted To Kiss You?
"Mrs. Windsor, is that all?" Oliver asked, his emotions unreadable.
"What do you mean?” Natalie asked, clearly baffled.
Faced with Natalie's puzzled look, Oliver instinctively drew her into his embrace and kissed her.
Natalie, without thinking, glanced toward the entrance of the company and as expected, saw several pairs of curious eyes fixed on them. She quickly led Oliver toward the car, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
Meanwhile, Oliver remained motionless as Natalie pulled him, resembling a petulant child.
Looking up at the sky in disbelief, Natalie pondered over Oliver's actions, a sudden idea crossed her mind. She tiptoed and swiftly kissed Oliver on the lips, murmuring softly, "Darling, shall we go home?"
Her voice, unbeknownst to herself, was infused with a gentle warmth, sounding almost flirtatious.
Oliver, who had initially planned to resist her and remain there a bit longer, was swayed by Natalie's words and decided to follow her.
As she took his hand, it introduced a playful element to their interaction.
It was not until their luxury car vanished from view that the employees at HHY returned to their senses, their eyes wide with shock.
What had they just witnessed?
"A luxury car! Weren’t there rumors that Natalie's husband owned such a vehicle? So that exceptionally attractive man, who could overshadow celebrities and supermodels, is Oliver?"
“So handsome! Did anyone manage to take a photo?"
"I forgot! We were all too shocked!"
"Who would dare to take a photo? Didn't you see the man in the black Armani suit observing us? If anyone had secretly taken a photo, they would likely be called into the office within an hour."
"I can’t believe I saw Oliver in person! I must share this with my colleagues in the department!"
Although no photographs of Oliver circulated, the news of Oliver's extraordinary appearance and Oliver and Natalie's public displays of affection spread rapidly within HHY Company. It did not take long for these rumors to spread to the fashion industry.
Those who had speculated that Natalie had plotted her way into marrying Oliver, or that Oliver did not truly love Natalie, were proven wrong.
Natalie discussed her upcoming schedule with Oliver, sharing the exciting news of securing a spot in a coveted audition.
"Are you happy?" Oliver asked, looking at Natalie's joyful expression.
Her smile, with her eyes and brows arched, was infectious and even lifted his spirits.
"Yes," Natalie answered, her smile enduring.
Securing an audition for Givenchy's major show was a significant achievement for her at this stage. She remained a B or C-list model and had only participated in proper runway shows twice. However, each time she appeared, she captivated the audience with her unique charm, signaling her immense potential to the public.
"When does the filming for the variety show start?" Oliver asked.
This season of Fun Challenge was a competitive variety show, requiring coordination with the broadcast schedule for filming.
Natalie said, "Next week. I’ll be staying at the dorm."
Prior to that, she was scheduled to shoot the cover for a prestigious magazine.
Oliver gazed into Natalie's eyes and said unhappily, "Natalie, you’re busier than I, and I have to manage an entire company. You’re hardly at home."
She detected a hint of grievance in Oliver's voice.
‘Was it my imagination? Did I hear wrongly?’ she thought.
Natalie explained nervously, "It’s much more convenient. The dorm is equipped with a small kitchen, so I can continue to cook for you. In any case, everyone knows I have a husband”
Not only did people know she had a husband, but they also knew he was formidable and not someone to be trifled with.
She would need only an hour to prepare meals, and surely the production team would accommodate this.
Oliver was pleased by the word ‘husband’. After observing Natalie for a few moments, his expression softened. Extending his hand towards Natalie, he said, "Come here."
When Natalie heard those two words from Oliver, she instinctively became alert. It seemed to her that whenever he uttered them, there was never anything serious.
"If there’s something you wish to discuss, we can go back to our room," Natalie suggested, staying cautious and propping herself up without moving closer.
Oliver responded with a sneer, "Did you think I was going to kiss you?"
His gaze carried a hint of challenge, as though asking, "What’s with the look in your eyes?"
Natalie felt a surge of annoyance. Clearly, she had misinterpreted his words. She failed to catch the fleeting look of amusement on Oliver’s face.
"Forget it," Natalie said.
The moment she took a step forward, Oliver swiftly pulled her toward him and skillfully captured her lips in a kiss. A hint of a smile could be seen in his eyes as he deepened the kiss.
Caught off guard by the intensity of the kiss, Natalie felt her strength wane, her resolve melting away as she glared at him weakly from within his arms. Her gaze, although intended to be fierce, only looked seductive.
Oliver's smile widened slightly as he said brazenly, “You’re really smart. I really did plan to kiss you.”
Liam, upon entering the living room and witnessing the intimate scene, chose to quietly withdraw, his spirits lifted by the sight.
The upcoming cover shoot for the prestigious magazine was not scheduled in Paykston but in a coastal city.
Natalie awoke early to prepare breakfast for Oliver, her energy undiminished by the early hour, partly because Oliver had agreed not to accompany her following her earnest request.
In the preceding nights, Oliver had been particularly attentive, ensuring they made the most of their time together, which resulted in Natalie’s exhaustion each night.
For the journey, HHY Company had arranged first-class tickets for Natalie and Emily and economy tickets for Sophia and Lilian. However, now that her credit card had been unfrozen, Lilian did not hesitate to upgrade both her and Sophia's tickets to first class.
