Chapter 291 Alcohol Causes Trouble!
Clint held the door open for Anthony, and out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a Rolls-Royce parked not too far away. He paused and said in a low voice, “Anthony, it seems like Oliver Windsor is here as well.”
Anthony had already noticed the car but had chosen to ignore it. He presumed Oliver was here because of Natalie.
Upon entering the car, Anthony felt the warmth from the heater, only then realizing his body was nearly frozen.
After the car disappeared into the dark night, Jamie asked the man in the back seat, “Sir, why didn’t you greet Anthony Clark?”
Oliver, who was in a foul mood, only looked at Jamie frostily.
Jamie continued, “Natalie and Jane are very close, and Anthony has a deep connection with Jane. It wouldn’t hurt for you to interact more with him.”
Oliver looked at Jamie and said, “The relationship between Anthony and Jane is irreparable. Is there a need for me to interact with him?”
In his opinion, it was better for him to interact more with Natalie than with Anthony and Jane.
As Oliver lit another cigarette, the smoke in the car grew denser. Eventually, the ashtray beside him brimmed with cigarette butts.
Tired, Jamie forced himself to suppress a yawn before he said, “Please smoke less. It’s harmful to your health to smoke so much.”
Before Jamie could say more, he was silenced by a look from Oliver.
Jamie contemplated suggesting Oliver to directly approach Natalie and talk to her. If talking did not solve the problem, then Oliver should just kiss Natalie until she conceded. However, he very quickly dismissed the idea, thinking it was ridiculous.
…
The night was long. When morning came and the eastern sky brightened, early-rising students started their morning exercises. It was also at this time that the Rolls-Royce left Sense University.
Natalie, roused by her alarm clock, had a pounding headache and stuffy nose. She sat up, cradling her head, as the memories of the previous day slowly came back to her.
‘Did I speak to Oliver on the phone? That’s right. We quarrelled, and I even hung up on him!’
Natalie would not have dared to do such a thing if she was sober, nor would she wish to do such a thing. At her core, she was someone who deeply valued etiquette.
‘Sure enough, nothing good comes out of drinking…’
Natalie sneezed repeatedly.
In a confused state the previous night, she had turned off the heater and kicked off her blanket, resulting in her catching a cold. Although she was sneezing a lot, she fortunately did not suffer from a runny nose.
Upon seeing this, the production team expressed concern for well-being.
As her teammate, Jacob went out of his way to purchase a variety of cold medications for Natalie. Initially, he had looked down on Natalie, but after spending time together, he grew to sympathize with her situation.
It was not Natalie’s, or Lucas’, fault that they were born out of wedlock. Moreover, it was not easy for her to be with someone like Oliver. As soon as something happened, she would immediately become the subject of gossip. If she were to marry someone less conspicuous, she would have undoubtedly led a happier life.
Jane noticed something different this morning. Jacob’s gaze toward Natalie was filled with regret, which she could understand, but why did Natalie look at Jacob with an apologetic expression on her face?
Natalie sighed as she confided in Jane about Oliver's misunderstanding regarding her relationship with Jacob. She said, “I feel a little sorry for Jacob. What if Oliver holds a grudge against him?”
Jane comforted Natalie, patting her shoulder. "Don’t worry. Once Oliver watches Jacob’s performance on the show, he’ll realize that you have no interest in someone like him. He won’t feel threatened by someone like Jacob.”
Jacob, who was standing nearby, overheard Jane's comment, and he said indignantly, "Hey, what do you mean by ‘someone like him’? I have hundreds of thousands of fans! I’m handsome, and my acting skills are good. Not only that, but I’m wealthy as well! Tell me, why wouldn’t Oliver feel threatened by me?”
Jane scolded him, saying, “Do you really think you can compare to Oliver?”
Jacob remained silent, thinking to himself, ‘Forget it. Who would be stupid enough to compare themselves to Oliver?’
…
The day's agenda proved to be even more unconventional than the previous day. To everyone's surprise, the day involved attending classes!
The production team had prearranged the classes, and each of the nine guests had to attend classes like regular students. If they could answer a question, they would be awarded a prop. However, there was a catch: only one prop was available per class. If two guests attended the same class, one would end up without a prop. Moreover, the nature of the prop remained a mystery until it was awarded by the professor.
Natalie gathered Jane and Jacob to discuss the course list provided by the production team.
"The classes are three consecutive sessions, which is a waste of time, and the content is related to our major. The other teams will definitely make their selection before us,” Natalie said as she drafted a simple map, “Hence, we should choose these two-session classes. These are the locations.”
Jacob was skeptical about this strategy.
"Cultural Astronomy, Tax Law, Food and Nutrition, Probability Theory, International Trade, Foreign Exchange... Do you think we’ll be able to tackle these classes? Our objective here is to excel, not merely to scrape by."
Natalie responded pointedly, "What about Luxury Goods Appreciation? You might not grasp the 'appreciation' aspect, but you're familiar with luxury goods, right? And since Foreign Exchange is listed as an elective, it's likely to cover basic content. Do you foresee any issues with these three courses?"
"What about the other subjects?" Jacob retorted, "Are you saying you and Jane are knowledgeable about Tax Law and Advanced Mathematics? One of you is a model, and the other a photographer. These courses seem irrelevant to your fields."
"Choosing not to learn is your approach, not ours," Jane mocked Jacob mercilessly.
Natalie and Jane shared a look and swiftly divided the tasks among themselves while Jacob looked on in disdain.
…
Meanwhile, the live broadcast's comment section was buzzing.
[Can't wait to see Natalie and Jane prove Jacob wrong. They shouldn't underestimate themselves!]
[That’s right! Don’t listen to Jacob!]
[Given the notorious difficulty and high failure rates, I don’t think Natalie and Jane can handle Probability Theory.]
Many people who failed Probability Theory left comments.
Due to the live broadcast and the filming, the classes designated for the show had limited students in attendance; there were no more than thirty to forty students. These students had been informed in advance to ensure they would not be nervous when they saw the camera.
