Chapter 965: Anthony Clark, Stop Right There

Anthony's urgent shout drew the attention of the servants.

"Mr. Clark?" A servant knocked on the door a few times but didn't dare to enter easily.

In the dead of night, Anthony’s appearing in Jane's room was enough to make anyone guess that something had happened. They feared that entering carelessly might reveal something inappropriate, and then had to take a side between Anthony and Aurora.

"Call an ambulance!" Anthony turned on the room's light and saw that Jane's arms and shoulders were covered in red rashes. The parts covered by clothes were likely the same.

Jane, lying in his arms, was breathing rapidly, as if she couldn't catch her breath.

The servant outside didn't hear clearly. "What?"

Anthony wrapped Jane in his clothes and carried her out.

The servant only saw the guest room door suddenly open from the inside, revealing Anthony's terrifying face, filled with gloom and anger.

"Call an ambulance! Don't you understand?" Anthony roared.

"Yes!" The servant replied.

Other servants nearby stood by were lost in thought, ‘Mr. Clark, this is... Why is Anthony with Jane? Should we inform Ms. Dewar?’

"Call the family doctor," Anthony ordered while carrying Jane downstairs.

"Okay!" The servant answered.

There was no need for the servants to worry about informing Aurora because Aurora and Ann were soon awakened by the commotion and came out wrapped in their clothes.

"Anthony, what are you doing in the middle of the night?" Ann initially thought something had happened to Anthony and ran out nervously. But seeing Jane wrapped in Anthony's arms, she darkened her face. "What's going on? What's she up to now?"

Aurora, supported by a servant, came down without asking anything, just looking at Jane and Anthony.

Aurora watched Jane lying in Anthony’s arms.

"What happened today?" Anthony ignored Ann, his sharp gaze directed at Aurora.

"What happened?" Aurora looked confused.

"The doctor is here!" The servant's voice suddenly rang out, followed by hurried footsteps.

The medical team living with the Clark family specialized in gynecology. The doctor initially thought something had happened to Aurora, but then saw Jane in Anthony's arms.

The doctor checked quickly and his face changed. He said to the nurse, "Quick! Oxygen tank!"

Anthony became even more tense.

Aurora saw Anthony’s fingers tightening, knuckles turning pale as if he was trying hard to control his emotion. His eyes were fixed on Jane as if nothing else could enter his world.

"Doctor, what's wrong with her?" Anthony asked after the doctor placed the oxygen mask over Jane's nose and mouth. His voice was trembling.

"We need to call an ambulance immediately," the doctor said.

"It's already called," Anthony replied.

"Acute allergic reaction causing temporary shock," the doctor remained tense. "If we had found her any later... Mr. Clark, when is the ambulance expected to arrive? Ms. Watkins' condition is critical, and she needs specialized allergy medication," the doctor asked.

"It should be within ten minutes." The Clark family's villa was in the wealthy area of Allentown, with a good private hospital nearby.

"That's good." The doctor breathed a sigh of relief.

Anthony held Jane tightly, not daring to loosen his grip even a bit, as if any slack would mean losing her.

Jane was allergic to mung bean powder, a rare allergen. As long as she avoided the contact with mung beans, she's fine. Very few people knew about her peculiar condition.

"It's just an allergy, no need to be so delicate." Ann sneered upon hearing that Jane's life wasn't in danger.

Anthony closed his eyes, holding back his temper out of respect for his mother.

"Anthony, don't worry too much. Ms. Watkins should be fine," Aurora tried to comfort him.

Anthony looked up and met Aurora's gaze.

Aurora appeared very concerned for Jane. Anthony, who had studied micro-expression psychology, noticed that her eyes were calm, and the corners of her eyes drooped slightly. It was indicated that Aurora felt no real concern and was even a bit disappointed.

"You'd better shut up right now," Anthony warned her.

"Anthony, how can you talk like that!" Ann's anger flared up immediately. She stepped forward to shield Aurora. "Anthony, get it straight! Aurora is your fiancée. The one you should care for and love is her, not Jane! Have you forgotten that Jane’s father is the one who killed your father and caused your sister's death?"

Anthony turned icy in his eyes. "Shut up!"

Ann stumbled, shocked by Anthony's cold and unfamiliar demeanor.

"Ann!" Aurora exclaimed, "Anthony, you..."

"You shut up too!" Anthony interrupted.

Holding Jane with one arm, Anthony used his other hand to call Clint, "Get over here and seal off Jane’s room."

Anthony was like a wolf whose den had been disturbed, filled with hostility towards anyone trying to approach Jane.

Clint lived near Anthony's house and quickly arrived with a few bodyguards. Seeing Jane with an oxygen mask in Anthony's arms, he was shocked. Ignoring Ann's protests and scolding, he led these bodyguards upstairs to surround Jane's room.

"Anthony, well done! You let your subordinates into my house for this woman and even defied me! How can you face your deceased father and sister?" Ann trembled her finger as she pointed at Anthony, furious.

‘How do I raise such a son!’ Ann pondered.

The ambulance arrived quickly.

The Clark family gates were open. Doctors and nurses rushed in with a stretcher. Anthony carefully placed Jane in the ambulance.

"Clint, check Jane’s room," Anthony ordered before leaving.

"Yes!" Clint answered.

Anthony knew what Jane was allergic to but couldn't reveal it here. The more people knew, the more dangerous it would be for Jane.

"Anthony, stop right there!" Ann panicked, seeing that Anthony intended to go to the hospital with Jane. "Jane has doctors to take care of her and we'll cover her medical expenses. You stay here with Aurora and don't go anywhere!"

"And if I don't?" Anthony asked Ann expressionlessly after he changed his shoes.

"Anthony, if you step out of this door tonight, you are no longer my son!" Ann resorted to threats to keep Anthony.

Anthony seemed to let out a cold laugh, jumped into the ambulance, and followed without hesitation.

Ann was devastated, stumbling back onto the sofa.

"Mrs. Clark!" Sadie shouted.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
