Chapter 231 Capable Mrs. Windsor

The Rosewood Estate

Natalie informed Oliver about arranging assistants and bodyguards, as this was something he had "forced" Emily to do.

"Is it a man or a woman?" Oliver asked right away.

"A girl!" Natalie wanted to roll her eyes.

Oliver reluctantly nodded, "Someone will come to the house in a few days, but you don't need to worry about it."

‘You've specifically mentioned it, how can I not worry?’ Natalie thought.

She asked, "Who is coming?"

"My cousin," Oliver said.

Natalie sat up straight nervously. "Do I need to do anything? Does she have any favorite foods that I can prepare in advance?"

As a capable Mrs. Windsor, it was her duty to entertain his relatives.

Oliver didn't even bat an eyelash. "You don't have to bother with her."

Although Oliver said it casually, Natalie was still somewhat nervous.

Anyone allowed to enter the main building by Oliver was not an ordinary guest.

Lilian and Sophia officially started working, the two immediately hit it off for a simple reason: they were both fans of Natalie.

However, Sophia was a fake fan. Had she known of the fanatic co-worker Lilian, she would have chosen the identity of an orphan over a fan. After all, she was a lonely girl cultivated by her master.

To avoid exposing her fake identity, Sophia seized every opportunity to learn about Natalie's past and examine her Instagram to appear as a qualified fan.

Natalie's schedule for today included a grand audition, competing against many top American models.

At this moment, Lilian's role became evident as she quickly applied light makeup on Natalie, delicate and natural, showcasing her skills which were comparable to many professional makeup artists.

Only models were allowed at the audition venue, but Emily had connections and resources. She gathered some information and everyone said Natalie performed well, no worse than those top models.

"So, you're really married, huh?" Lilian couldn't help but ask.

Sophia was not big on talking, while Lilian, on the other hand, was quite chatty. Initially, Lilian had a foreign accent when speaking, but after a few days, she became very fluent.

"Yeah, I am." Natalie nodded and smiled. "Why do you ask?"

Although Lilian was young and looked tender, her work and learning abilities were quite impressive. Natalie started considering her as a little sister.

Lilian mused aloud, “Who among men could rival you?' She answered her own query emphatically, “Such a man does not exist!”

Sophia thought, ‘I don't think I can continue pretending to be a fake fan, what should I do?’

"Natalie, you're so beautiful. Is your husband handsome too? With your excellence, does he dote on you?" Lilian excitedly asked.

"Well," Natalie thought for a moment and said, "he is quite good-looking, but has quite the temper."

Sophia glanced at Natalie calmly, thinking to herself, ‘Of course, Mr. Windsor has a bad temper. Miss Watson, why don't you consider my master, instead?’

Lilian clicked her tongue twice, feeling that such a man was not worthy of her goddess.

But what could she do when Natalie was already married?

"Natalie, let me tell you, my older brother also has a bad temper. He used to bully me when I was a child, but once I realized he wouldn't actually hit me, I stopped being afraid. As long as you have thick skin, nothing is a problem! You don't have to fear your husband," Lilian said with a big laugh.

"Natalie, my brother is also married, but I don't like his wife. I'm going to meet her tomorrow!" Lilian added.

Natalie never expected that the subject would be herself.

Emily looked meaningfully at Lilian and asked, "Your biological brother?"

"No, he's, my cousin. I don't have a biological brother. My cousin is like a real brother!" Lilian waved her hand.

Emily continued, "Why do you not like your sister-in-law?"

"She's fake, malicious, and unworthy of my brother!" Lilian spoke indignantly about her sister-in-law. "She's just using my brother because of his status!"

"Those who have a boyfriend and still snatch my brother away for power and status, aren't they despicable? My brother didn't even see his wife before marriage. A marriage without love is immoral! Besides, my brother has a childhood sweetheart.”

Natalie furrowed her brows. She felt something was off, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Emily raised an eyebrow and cast a meaningful glance at Lilian and Natalie. Discreetly, took out her phone to contact the two substitute assistants from that day, prepared to replace Lilian at any moment.

Since the contract signing, Emily had suspected Lilian's true identity. She commissioned an investigation to discover why the other two interview candidates had suddenly left.

It transpired that Lilian had slipped checks totaling $50,000 to each candidate during moments when Natalie and Emily were preoccupied, persuading them not to vie for the assistant role. With little faith in securing the position, the candidates accepted the funds and departed.

Behind every check lies a trail, and Lilian doesn't try to hide her identity, so it doesn't take long to find out that she is Pa princess of the French royal nobility, Oliver's cousin.

That's why Emily purposely asked those questions just now.

Emily was curious about how Lilian would react upon finding out that her sister-in-law was Natalie.

"When will Winnie come?" Natalie asked Oliver before going to sleep.

"Tomorrow," Oliver casually replied.

"What?!" Natalie instantly bounced up from the bed, shocked, and turned on the bedside lamp.

The light from the lamp irritated Oliver's eyes, causing him to frown.

"But why didn't you mention this sooner?" Natalie protested, gazing at him with animosity. She lacked preparation. Fortunately, she possessed no prior engagements and no scheduled classes.

"I told you, you don't need to worry about her." Oliver extended his arm, turned off the bedside lamp, and pulled Natalie into his embrace.

Natalie felt uneasy, recalling the assistant's odd behavior towards her sister-in-law. She couldn't shake off the strange sense of discomfort that lingered within her.
