Chapter 831 A Wager! Son or Daughter?

'Natalie is pregnant!'

Helen quickly noticed it despite Natalie's loose-fitting dress concealing her bump. Her mind raced with thoughts of Natalie's elevated status as the wife of a wealthy man. But what about Susan, her daughter?

Overwhelmed by the discovery, Helen flew back to Tycoon City without speaking to Natalie.

It had been months since Helen last saw Susan, and the sight of her left Helen speechless. Without her usual skincare and spa treatments, Susan looked tired and haggard. Soon enough, her attention was drawn to an unpleasant odor emanating from Susan.

"What's that smell?" Helen inquired, attempting not to cause offense.

Susan, however, couldn't help but display a bitter smile. She had endured mistreatment in prison, where she was subjected to degrading tasks and abuse. The guards made sure to hit her where the bruises would not show.

"Mom, what did Natalie say? When will she visit me?" Susan asked, her desperation evident. She was oblivious to Helen's words, consumed by her own despair. She pleaded with an expression of urgency on her face, "Mom, I need your help."

"Susan, perhaps it's best to let it go," Helen said, her heart aching for her daughter, "You deserve someone better than Oliver. Look at yourself now."

However, Susan could not give up. She used to be a prominent figure, but now she faced a life of misery and humiliation.

"Mom, please help me," Susan cried, "I did everything I could to secure my release, but now I'm alone. I need you, Mom."

Helen was taken aback by Susan's trust and desperation.

"Susan, how can I help?" she asked, her voice filled with compassion.

"I just need to vent my anger," Susan replied.

Meanwhile, deliveries from the mall arrived at the Rosewood Estate.

When Lucas and Lilian visited Natalie, a customized baby stroller had just been delivered.

"Natalie, is this the stroller for my nephew?" Lucas examined it closely, already thinking of ways to improve it. He asked, "Can I take it back with me and make some modifications?"

"You know how to do that?" Natalie was surprised.

"I do," Lucas replied, "I studied it in college. Don't forget, I have a double major."

"Alright, go ahead." Natalie agreed.

Later, Lilian pulled Natalie aside and asked, "Tina said you are having a boy. Do you think it is true?"

Natalie could not be certain.

Lilian, eager to find out, discreetly tried to touch Natalie's belly, but Oliver stopped her.

"We're just guessing," Lilian said, "Tina is just a child; her guess can't be taken as fact."

Natalie felt helpless, not knowing what to say.

"I thought you had a clear feeling," Lilian sighed in disappointment, saying, "I was hoping to make a profit."

"Make a profit?"

"Yes! We made a bet."

Natalie was curious. "What did you all bet on?"

"Limited edition sports cars, designer handbags, auctioned jewelry, VIP concert tickets, fine wine, company shares, and more. My bet is a lifetime stay at a luxury hotel," Lilian enthusiastically explained, "There are other bets too. Barrett bet that you'll have a daughter, and Emily bet on a son. If you have a son, Barrett will be Emily's servant for three days, and if you have a daughter, Emily will do three things for Barrett."

"What things?"

"She needs to accompany him for meals, drinks, and car racing."

Natalie wondered if these people had nothing better to do.

Oliver, learning that Lucas took the baby stroller to make modifications, called him and said, "Send me the design for the stroller's modification."

He trusted Lucas's abilities but wanted to understand his plans.
