Chapter 153 Married Woman
It did not matter to Natalie if Roger wore the outfits in the dressing room or not. She did not mind if he wore a suit for the shoot later since it also fitted the theme of aristocracy. She was more concerned that Roger, like Oliver, was obsessed with cleanliness and might not want to wear the outfits provided by the crew.
Roger was stunned. He understood her good intentions, and a hint of tenderness flashed in his eyes.
"Who is he?"
"I don't remember such a person in the industry. A newcomer?"
"Hailey, who is he?"
While everyone was discussing fervently among themselves, a man dressed in black exited the Ferrari, carrying an Armani bag. He first handed the director a business card before he handed the bag to Roger.
"Mr. Wild?" The director was shocked by the name on the business card.
Roger did not usually appear in the media, but his name was famous both domestically and internationally. He was a prominent Italian entrepreneur and investor, with rumors suggesting that his background extended far beyond that.
Mr. Evans stood frozen in place, wondering how Natalie knew someone like that.
One of the models asked curiously, "Natalie, is he your husband?"
After all, Roger seemed to be the right age and was wealthy. Moreover, based on his attitude toward Natalie, it made sense.
"No." Natalie firmly denied, shaking her head.
With this, everyone looked at Natalie in a new light.
After all, the famous elite Roger Wild willingly stood in as a male model for Natalie. Moreover, he treated her so gently earlier and even seemed worried that she would refuse him.
Blake was dumbfounded. The person he had belittled and rejected, someone unknown, managed to get the help of someone so extraordinary?
Arwyn clenched her teeth fiercely now that her plan to embarrass Natalie by snatching Blake away had failed. Blake’s presence now only reminded her of her failure.
Hailey quickly hid back, worried that the fierce and envious expression on her face would be caught by the camera. Suddenly, she remembered that two people had rushed to save Natalie during her engagement party, and one of them was Roger! With this, she realized how foolish she had been earlier.
Natalie turned around and noticed Jane clutching her camera, lost in thought.
"Jane, what's on your mind?"
Jane said seriously, "I'm contemplating whether I should remind you that you're a married woman or encourage you to find a new boyfriend."
"What nonsense are you thinking!" Natalie laughed and said, "Roger and I are just friends."
‘Is this how a friend behaves? You might treat him like a friend, but I don’t know I don’t know if that’s the case for him…’ Jane thought to herself, ‘However, Roger should be aware that Natalie is married. With his standing, he wouldn't relentlessly pursue a married woman, right? However, Natalie is not an ordinary married woman. She’s too beautiful for her own good…’
…
Roger wore a suit from his own collection. The custom-made suit was naturally superior to the outfits provided by the crew. He perfectly matched the theme of aristocracy.
"Wow, the suit matches the theme!” Natalie exclaimed.
Roger chuckled softly in response. He had meticulously studied the theme and made sure his outfit was an impeccable match. In fact, he had prepared several suits since he was not sure about the style Natalie wanted to show. Apart from that, he had also come up with ways to replace the male model Natalie had invited. Unexpectedly, everything went so smoothly.
Suddenly, a group of policemen rushed in, disrupting the filming.
"Is Mr. Evans here?"
The director swiftly instructed the cameras to be turned off.
Mr. Evans stood up, bewildered. "I’m here. What's going on?"
"Someone has reported you for bribery, tax evasion, drug use, and sexual assault. They’ve also provided substantial evidence. Please come with us."
"That's not... I didn't... I'm innocent!"
Mr. Evans was truly bewildered. He had indeed engaged in bribery and tax evasion, but he really did not use drugs. Moreover, sexual assault? With his successful career, there was no need for him to do such a thing. All the women he had been with were willing. Clearly, someone was trying to frame him!
Mr. Evans was a prominent figure in the industry. The person who did this was clearly trying to destroy him.
Not only did Mr. Evans understand this, but everyone also knew that he would not emerge unscathed this time.
"Mr. Evans!" Lyra cried out. If Mr. Evans were apprehended, would it not mean that she had sold herself in vain? He had promised to help her enter the top five. She was even planning to accompany him a few more times to secure a spot in the top three.
Lyra's partner had only come for Mr. Evans. After all, he hoped to benefit from Mr. Evans. However, upon seeing this scene, his expression turned somber, and he quietly packed his things. Clearly, he intended to leave.
Upon seeing this, Lyra reached out and grabbed his hand, asking anxiously, “Where are you going?”
"I just remembered I have a magazine shoot tomorrow. I need to rush there tonight. Sorry, I have to go,” he explained. His tone was apologetic yet firm.
Lyra sat on the ground despondently. Her face was pale, as though she had just seen a ghost. Resigned to her fate, she decided to withdraw from the competition. She returned to her room and packed her belongings, preparing to leave. As she did, tears streamed down her cheeks, feeling cheated.
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted Lyra’s tears.
After a brief moment, Hailey entered, gently closing the door behind her. She looked concerned and said as she said, “I didn’t expect you to leave first…”
Lyra disliked Hailey, whom she felt only got so far due to her enviable background and engagement.
Regardless of Lyra's opinion about her, Hailey said, “Clearly, this is part of Natalie’s plan. She’s obviously having an easy time while you’re in such a pitiful state. She’s always been vengeful. Don’t give up. There’ll be other chances in the future.”
Hailey's words reminded Lyra of something. She recalled how Mr. Evans had propositioned Natalie but was refused. Was it a coincidence that he was arrested today? Moreover, she had also mocked Natalie earlier. In her opinion, Natalie did not dare to retaliate against Hailey and Arwyn, so Natalie could only target her.
This revelation fueled the burning hatred in Lyra's eyes.
Upon seeing this, Hailey smiled. Her mission had been accomplished. Although Lyra was no one important, she was very pleased by the thought of Natalie having an extra enemy.
…
Apart from Lyra’s partner, the deputy director, who had signed up for the filming because of Mr. Evans, also left. His departure disrupted the filming greatly, and it took a while for the production team to solve the problem.
At this time, Jane whispered to Natalie "Hey, I just found out that it was someone powerful who ordered people to deal with Mr. Evans. I think it might be Oliver!”
