Chapter 934 Are You Acting Spoiled?

Eugene was devoted to Natalie and willing to sacrifice everything for her, but he couldn't imagine living without her. However, this was contingent upon Roger not giving up on himself.

In a deal with Eugene, Roger, the dominant personality, agreed, "I will grant you freedom and dignity, and you will ensure Natalie's safety and happiness."

Happiness meant not appearing in front of Natalie as Eugene. Because Natalie knew that Eugene was born for her, his love for her was unabashed and would never fade.

Eugene asked Roger why he did this.

Roger said, "Maybe because I am a coward."

Roger was tormented by his inability to be with Natalie, yet he couldn't bear to disrupt her current happiness. He made the difficult decision to leave, but couldn't shake off the memories of Natalie, who had rescued his childhood and soul. Roger's concern was that if she faced any mistreatment or injustice, there would be no one to defend her. He even feared that he might one day succumb to Eugene's influence and become a hindrance to Natalie, drifting further apart from her.

So, in the end, Roger came up with this solution: he would do one last thing for Natalie, trading his body for the freedom of his soul, and allowing Eugene to protect Natalie for a lifetime.

Apart from the word “coward”, Roger couldn't find anyone that suited himself.

Perhaps, since Eugene's personality appeared, everything was wrong. It was fate.

Oliver looked at Eugene without speaking. This truth was unexpected but not shocking.

"Oliver, my existence is because of Roger's love for Natalie. In the end, I stayed, but I didn't get her."

Not only did he not get her, but Roger also prevented Eugene from having any extreme thoughts about Natalie by his will.

Oliver squinted slightly. Was Eugene really born for Natalie?

No wonder Eugene's gaze towards Natalie was so intense.

However, as a secondary personality that emerged later, Eugene didn't really worry Oliver.

“She's my wife. It makes sense that you can’t get her," Oliver replied to Eugene's previous remark.

Eugene chuckled self-deprecatingly and chose not to argue further with Oliver on the matter.

"Oliver, treat Natalie well. I'll be watching her," Eugene paused, "and I'll be watching you too."

The transfer of Roger's estate was handled solely by a lawyer, and Natalie only needed to sign a few documents. When Eugene officially departed, he didn't inform anyone or leave any messages. The next day, when Natalie went to his place, he had moved.

Natalie felt that something was off, but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

In the dead of night, Natalie suddenly woke up from a deep sleep.

“What's the matter?" Oliver, who was a light sleeper, noticed Natalie's unusual behavior and opened his eyes to observe her with a slight frown on his brow.

"Nothing," replied Natalie, rubbing her forehead.

Oliver sat up, still groggy, but his body instinctively pulled Natalie into his arms. Gently rubbing the back of her neck, he asked soothingly, "Did you have a nightmare?”

"No," Natalie sighed, confused.

Natalie looked at Oliver, "Oliver, don't you think Roger has been weird?"

Oliver's face instantly darkened. "Natalie, did you wake me up in the middle of the night to ask about another man? Did you dream about him?"

"No, I didn't dream of him," Natalie answered truthfully. She had just woken up suddenly, and the image from a few days ago when she saw Roger kept replaying in her mind. Something felt strange, but she couldn't quite figure out what it was..

"You're lying next to your husband, thinking about another man, and asking your husband about him," Oliver remarked. "Natalie, do I look so generous?”

What other things could Oliver be generous with, besides money? "Oliver, don't be annoying!" Natalie playfully tugged on Oliver's little finger and shook it.

"I just can't figure it out.”

Oliver glanced at Natalie's slender fingers, "Natalie, are you acting spoiled? You're a mother now,.”

"So what? Can’t I?" Natalie lifted her chin, feeling justified.

Oliver was momentarily stunned, and then his lips curled slightly. "Of course you can."

With his hand still caressing the back of Natalie's neck, Oliver gently drew her closer and remarked, "Even when you become a grandmother, you can still be a bit spoiled." Natalie instinctively pictured herself with gray hair and wrinkles, being spoiled by Oliver, which was a terrifying thought.

Natalie shivered immediately, "I would not do it!"

"Go to sleep," Oliver said, lightly patting Natalie's head and pushing her back under the covers.

"Wait," Natalie pressed her hands against Oliver's chest. "Don't you really think there's something strange about Roger?"

Oliver took a shallow breath, holding back his temper, asking, "What's strange?"

Natalie couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she had a bold guess.

"Do you think Eugene still exist?" Actually, Natalie had a moment where she wondered if the person she interacted with that day was Eugene or Roger. But the behavior of Roger that day didn't quite match Eugene's style.

Oliver looked at Natalie for a long moment, then raised an eyebrow, "How would I know?"

Natalie sighed, realizing her thoughts might be a bit far-fetched.

“Natalie, cases of split personality are rare. And even rarer are cases where dual personalities coexist for a long time. More often, one personality disappears or goes into a long sleep.”

"I understand."

What Natalie didn't know was that a personality had indeed disappeared. It was Roger who vanished and Eugene who remained.
