Chapter 1140 Three Months Later
Ainslee sprawled out lazily and said, "Your taste is way off. With someone like Jovan around, how could you be into Anthony?"
Sure, Jovan was a great role model, but Ainslee's tone was infuriating!
Jane shut her eyes tight, deciding not to argue. "Delete those photos," she demanded.
"Why should I delete my photos?" Ainslee shot back confidently.
"You took pictures of me. Ever heard of portrait rights?" Jane threatened.
"I didn't use them commercially, so no portrait rights issue," Ainslee replied.
This was unbearable!
When Jovan got home, he immediately sensed the tension between Jane and Ainslee.
"What happened?" Jovan asked Jane.
"Jovan, when is he leaving our house?" Jane's face showed she was at her limit.
Ainslee looked up, not worried at all that Jovan would kick him out.
"That's not happening," Jovan said. "Jane, he stays with me. He leaves when I leave."
Ainslee nodded in agreement.
Jane thought this life was too much!
"Then make him delete the photos." After a full minute, Jane conceded.
Jovan had seen this coming and gestured for Ainslee to hand over his phone.
This went smoother than Jane expected. Ainslee reluctantly deleted the photos, muttering, "You actually started drinking because of that, Anthony. Pathetic."
"I didn't do it for him!" Jane's fists clenched. 'How can Ainslee be so annoying?' she thought.
Ainslee seemed not to hear Jane and continued, "Anthony's fine, but I know better guys. Jane, I know princes and noble heirs. I can introduce you."
"I didn't know Mr. Richardson liked playing matchmaker," Jane rolled her eyes.
"Ainslee, my love life has nothing to do with you," Jane tried to reason.
"Of course it does. Once you get married, Jovan will be all mine," Ainslee said.
"No, if I get married, Jovan will also get a wife, and you will get a wife. How will Jovan be with you?" Jane felt that strange feeling again.
Why did it seem like Jovan and Ainslee were particularly close, yet their behavior never suggested any intimacy?
"I'm not planning to get a wife," Ainslee said, unwrapping a lollipop and popping it into his mouth. "No woman is better than Jovan. None look as good, none are as capable at work, and none can hang out with me without annoying me."
"If you don't get a wife, does that mean Jovan won't either?" Jane was so mad she could barely breathe.
Ainslee looked puzzled. "Can you find a woman better than me? Prettier, richer, smarter? You can't."
Jane asked, "Why are you comparing yourself to a woman?"
Ainslee shrugged. "Who says a man can't compare himself to a woman?"
The argument ended with Jane storming upstairs.
Ainslee was just ridiculous!
Soon, it was time for another art exhibition.
Jane had not had any social activities for three months. She took two of her studio assistants to Australia and New Zealand for a photo shoot, spent two months developing the negatives, and spent another month editing the pictures before sending the portfolio to the exhibition.
Once the work was done, Jane immediately booked herself a full-body spa package.
Being a generous boss, Jane also arranged the same spa treatment for her hardworking employees.
A group of them went to the spa, praising her all the way.
"Jane is so nice!"
"This is my first time in such a high-end spa. I feel like I don't belong here."
"If it weren't for Jane, I wouldn't have come here in my lifetime. Half a month's salary gone in a day!"
Jane let them flatter her. Interacting with young people was always more relaxed.
Suddenly, Lester paused.
Lester quietly tugged at Jane's sleeve, lowered his voice, and nervously whispered in her ear, "Jane, over there! Look over there!"
Jane followed Lester's gaze and saw Anthony's back as he exited through another door of the spa.
Clint, still sporting short hair, was right by Anthony's side.
"Jane, that person is..." Lester started.
"Yes." Jane cut him off before he could say Anthony's name. "Let's go in."
Lester swallowed his words. Although Jane appeared calm, Lester could always sense a hint of sadness from her.
This sadness had nothing to do with love, probably just a lament on the unpredictability of life.
Jane hadn't expected to run into Anthony in such a place, nor had she expected that after three months of staying in, the moment she stepped out, Jovan would go to Mexico, and she would immediately encounter Anthony!
This little episode quickly passed.
The results of Jane's photography competition were announced, and once again, she won first place, the gold medal.
