Chapter 855 Maintenance

The Smith family was surprised that Samuel not only didn't speak up for them but also turned around to mock them, which made them furious!

Natalie noticed that they seemed eager to try again or make more efforts to persuade her. She felt it was necessary to make them completely give up.

"Maybe I should put it another way." Natalie looked at them one by one, "If I weren't Natalie from the Smith family, not one of the top female supermodels in the country, but just an ordinary college graduate, would you want me to come back?"

With exceptional observation skills, she noticed that several people rolled their eyes, and even a young woman with long curly hair muttered softly, "You must be dreaming."

She probably thought she was speaking quietly. But at this moment, everyone heard it.

Silence filled the room.

"Luna, what did you say! Quickly apologize to Natalie!" A middle-aged man next to Luna reprimanded sternly.

"Luna?" Natalie's smile seemed somewhat indifferent, since having spent a long time with Oliver, some of her emotions and expressions were similar to Oliver's. "Aria is your sister, right? Previously, when I was with the A family's filming team at the Smith family hotel, Luna instigated Mr. Smith Senior to kick me out."

Natalie looked around and was somewhat regretful. "I didn't see Aria today."

She was unaware that Aria had already been sent to Africa by John.

"How do you know? Did you carry out an investigation on me?" Luna's face changed drastically.

Oliver immediately burst into laughter.

The disdainful expression on his face indicated that Luna was not qualified to be investigated by her.

"Shut up!" One of Luna's elders scolded loudly.

It wasn't fun to provoke Oliver, especially now that Natalie was pregnant. What if someone intentionally caused trouble?

Samuel looked at Luna, saying that Luna was even more foolish than Aria!

Foolish people could never understand how someone like Natalie, with a good memory and high intelligence, could remember someone after meeting them once and judge the relationship between people based on their behavior.

"Natalie, come here, I have something to tell you in private." Caleb's voice interrupted this awkward and eerie atmosphere. "James, Helen, you come too."

Caleb looked solemn, as if the recent events and words had stimulated him. So he intended to have a serious and good chat with Natalie.

Natalie stood up, holding her pregnant belly.

Seeing Oliver also slowly standing up, Caleb smiled and said, "Oliver, you don't need to come with us, right? We just want to have a chat with Natalie. Rest assured, Natalie is my granddaughter, and the Smith family will definitely take good care of her!"

Oliver smiled but remained silent, but his eyes were devoid of any warmth.

He was like the most gentlemanly deity, yet exuded a devilish presence.

Everyone knew what Oliver meant. He disagreed.

He disagreed with Natalie going alone, because Oliver was worried about Natalie’s safety.

Oliver was such a domineering and overbearing person.

"Let's go." Samuel glanced at Oliver, indicating that he would go with Natalie.

"Samuel, you stay here with these relatives," James said.

Samuel immediately smiled, "By blood, Natalie is my sister, so why can't I go?"

"Grandpa smith, listen to me!" Samuel smiled and asked, "Natalie just said she doesn't think she belongs to the Smith family. You still invited her for a private chat. Oliver must think the Smith family will mistreat Natalie behind her back. If it were me, I wouldn't feel at ease."

"Samuel!" Caleb scolded sternly. "Listen to what you're saying? You shouldn't say such things."

They couldn’t believe he was helping people outside the Smith family!

"Since Samuel misunderstood the Smith family just now, I'll go with Natalie." Oliver's gaze was very indifferent.

Samuel ignored Caleb's words and said to James, "It should be the parents' job to accompany these relatives. Besides, these relatives are not strangers, there's no need for special attention."

The other members of the Smith family understood. Caleb wanted to talk to Natalie privately, and Samuel was worried that Natalie would be wronged, so he deliberately followed along!

Natalie looked at Samuel in surprise.

“Samuel was actually on her side?’’ To protect her, he was actually in opposition to the elders who raised him?’ she thought.

The Smith family's old mansion was a series of grand buildings.

Caleb had a small courtyard himself. He walked ahead with a serious face, followed by James, Helen, Natalie, Oliver, and Samuel.

"Sit." Caleb went straight to the seat made by the owner of the small courtyard.

The owner's seat had two positions, one on the left and one on the right. Caleb sat in one, leaving the other empty. James didn't sit but took a seat near Caleb.

Natalie instinctively felt that the empty seat was originally Emma's.

Emma had passed away many years ago, yet there was still a chair reserved for her, which showed Caleb's deep feelings.

As for other aspects of Mr. Smith Senior, Natalie didn't think much about it.

"Natalie, seeing this, does it remind you of anything? You used to come here to play when you were young." Caleb asked as Natalie looked around when she entered.

"No." Natalie said without hesitation with indifferent tone and expression.

Caleb stared at Natalie for a few seconds. "Have you made up your mind not to return to the Smith family? Everyone needs a home. If you don't want it now, you'll regret it when you're older."

Natalie couldn't tell if Caleb was sincerely persuading her or if he had other intentions.

Her attitude showed no mercy to the Smith family and Caleb. Oliver stood entirely on Natalie's side, and Caleb had been embarrassed several times. Natalie felt that during the confrontation with the Smith family earlier, Caleb's mindset had changed.

Oliver wasn't afraid of the so-called elder presence. He held Natalie's hand, idly playing with her fingers to show his support for her.

Natalie's gaze passed over Oliver and landed on Samuel.

Perhaps in this vast old mansion of the Smith family, only Samuel, who used to be eager to teach Natalie how to climb trees and pick peaches, had some genuine feelings for her.

Of course, Samuel's initial concealment and deception had irritated Natalie, but Natalie was magnanimous and she had always been gentle with the people around her.

Samuel responded to Natalie with an expression, seeming to say, "Don't look at me, I'm just here to watch."

Samuel was here to prevent the old folks of the Smith family from bullying Natalie, not to influence her judgment and perception.
