Chapter 136 Engagement Surprise

Oliver's attention was on Natalie, not the stage. He knew the video that was about to play. He had switched it with Victoria's during the family meeting. That was the only reason he had participated in the meeting.

At the same time, the conversation in the video blared through the speakers.

"Adrian, didn’t I tell you that marriage is like a prison? Why are you in a hurry to imprison yourself?"

"Who says I'm imprisoning myself?"

The party was wild with Adrian, clearly drunk, holding a scantily clad model closely and kissing her passionately.

The model playfully rebuked Adrian with a hint of shyness in her voice, while the affluent young men around them cheered.

Adrian said, "I found myself a wife to raise my children at home and to look after my mother! However, I can still enjoy the company of beautiful women outside!”

"Ha! Adrian, I thought you were in love with Hailey!" the young model teased as her hands moved restlessly around Adrian’s body.

Adrian laughed mischievously and led the model to the couch before he continued to kiss her, ignoring everyone’s presence.

After a moment, Adrian said to the model, “Alas, you’re not my…”

The video abruptly censored Adrian’s last word.

The scene was chaotic and wild, making it difficult to watch.

Natalie's cheeks turned red with embarrassment and rage. She had a feeling that the word that had been censored was ‘aunt’. She glanced at Oliver and saw his piercing and cold eyes glaring at Adrian. Based on his menacing expression, she felt like her suspicion had been confirmed.

The video shocked everyone, and it took a while for the audience to react. In just a moment, the room was filled with murmurs and whispers.

"Stop it! Turn it off now!" Victoria yelled, losing her composure.

"Something is wrong. I can’t turn off the video! Is the video corrupted?”

A few employees scrambled to turn the video off amidst a burst of laughter.

"Adrian..." Hailey burst into tears, looking at Adrian with sadness and reproach.

"It wasn't me! It's fake! Mom, what’s going on?" Adrian panicked. How did the video from that night appear here?

"I know nothing about this video..."

Victoria had checked the video a few times previously. There should have been no errors. She was also at a loss.

The three families were in turmoil near the stage. The Watson family tried comforting Hailey, Victoria sought the cause of the mishap, and Adrian maintained his innocence in the matter.

"I didn’t expect Adrian to be like this! Previously, I really hoped he’d marry my daughter. Thank goodness he ended up marrying Hailey!”

Few people knew that the young master of the Harrington family had such a side to him. They thought he was noble and kind, and only a few people knew he was a hypocrite.

Apart from that, people also wondered what Victoria’s goal was to show her future daughter-in-law such a video. After all, in their circle, many husbands appeared devoted to their wives in public, but many would mess around outside. It was rather bold of Victoria to expose such a thing.

A thought struck Natalie. She whispered to Oliver, "Did you do this?"

Oliver met her questioning gaze and responded with a simple, "Yes."

He had only attended the absurd family meeting to swap the video.

Oliver's action served multiple purposes: it tarnished Adrian's and the Harrington family's reputations, escalated tensions among the families, and embarrassed those involved.

Such a video was even more impactful than a video of Adrian’s intimate moments, which would give him room to come up with excuses. However, in this video, Adrian clearly said those words.

As Natalie observed the turmoil on stage and the discomfort of the attendees, she felt a hint of satisfaction.

The Watson family had forced her into a marriage, and the Watson family had regarded her with disdain. Adrian was heartless, and Victoria was cruel and contemptuous.

This moment felt like justice for her and Oliver.

Having seen enough, Oliver escorted Natalie away.

However, at this time, Henry approached and asked, "Oliver, are you sure you don’t feel unwell?"

Henry’s appearance was slightly disheveled. Now that the commotion had dispersed the festive atmosphere, he came over. He stared at Oliver intently as though he was trying to see through the latter’s thoughts.

Earlier, Oliver had shown his physical strength. He swam in the sea and also carried Natalie effortlessly for a period of time. This was contradictory to his supposed poor health.

Oliver did not bother to hide anything and said, “From the beginning, all of you unilaterally assumed and said that I was unwell.”

Henry froze for a moment, overwhelmed and threatened by his son's formidable presence.

Indeed, the Windsor family had tried to undermine Oliver by spreading rumors about his health.

Over time, Oliver had used these rumors to excuse himself from social events, and the Windsor family also started to believe their own lies, forgetting they had never verified Oliver's health.

Seeing that Oliver was about to leave, Henry lost his temper. He blocked Oliver and Natalie’s way as he demanded, "Where are you going? The family is here."

Oliver's smile and gaze conveyed arrogance as he said, "Who are you to tell me what to do?"

"Natalie!" Robert also arrived, looking embarrassed as he asked, "Shouldn't you comfort your sister?"

This marriage was supposed to elevate the Watson family's status, and the video was like a slap to their faces. Alas, despite the humiliation, they could not confront the Windsor family and the Harrington family.

Robert thought that it was fortunate that Natalie was favored by Oliver. With this, the Watson family would still have some leverage. If Natalie stood on the family’s side, the Watson family could be spared some of the humiliation.

"Why should I do that?" Natalie saw through Robert's intentions but feigned ignorance.

"You’re sisters. It’s only natural for you to comfort her."

Natalie shook her head. "It's best that I stay away from this. I don't want her to think I'm there to gloat or that I have any intentions toward Adrian."
