Chapter 949 Showdown
"Private chef?" Jane thought she must have misheard. "How did Billy become your private chef?"
Anthony replied, "I have money."
Anthony had the money to hire Billy as his private chef.
Jane looked at Anthony with a blank expression, "Are you mocking me for not having money?"
Anthony was puzzled by Jane's unusual thoughts.
Although Jane was unhappy that the Billy she liked was now Anthony's private chef, she could only mutter a few words in her heart.
Jane did not have the financial resources to hire Billy as her personal chef. During his time working for the Watkins family, Billy's salary was on par with that of a head chef at a five-star hotel.
"Can you leave now?" Jane issued an eviction order. "I feel stifled living in your house, and I don't want you in the room I paid for."
Anthony had other matters to discuss with Clint ,coming to the hotel just because he was afraid she was feeling wronged.
Even though he was worried about Jane feeling wronged, he couldn't say a single comforting word when he arrived.
At least he made sure Jane had breakfast.
“Jane, remember, I will not marry Aurora, and you are not someone who breaks up families. Do you understand?" Anthony gave his final instructions.
"You got engaged to her but won't marry her. Are you trying to tell me you're a bad man, Anthony?”
"Don't you already know if I'm a bad man or not?"
"You are."
Jane thought Anthony's words were the epitome of a bad man.
Anthony couldn't be bothered to argue with Jane any longer. He walked to the door but was stopped by Jane.
"Anthony!" Jane asked cautiously yet full of hope, "Can you help me find my brother?"
Anthony was already searching for Jovan and was confident that Jovan was safe. As for why he hadn't returned to find Jane, there was likely a valid reason. However, Anthony couldn't disclose it. If he did, Jane might leave the Clark family.
Departing from the Clark family meant moving out of Anthony's jurisdiction, and the protection he offered Jane would be compromised. Considering the murder that had occurred at Jane's apartment, Anthony couldn't allow her to leave.
"No," he said.
"Why not?" Jane's emotions were a bit agitated, "If you help me find my brother, I won't bother you anymore, and you won't lose anything!"
"Jane, don't you get it?" Anthony looked deeply into Jane's eyes, his pupils containing a fierce storm, "I won't let you go."
Jane squinted her eyes.
"When we get back, someone will arrange a new room for you." Anthony hadn't planned to intervene in this matter because it would easily reveal his attitude and provoke Ann to target Jane more strongly.
But now, seeing Jane pitifully staying at a hotel, being called to feed Aurora oatmeal, and getting splashed all over, he couldn't stand it.
"Wait." Jane was a bit confused by Anthony. "You weren't like this even yesterday."
Anthony hadn't shown such a strong possessive desire towards Jane yesterday.
Today, Anthony suddenly laid all his cards on the table.
“Really?" Anthony no longer concealed his true feelings. "From the moment I reappeared in front of you, Jane, I never had any intention of letting you become someone else's woman.
During their time in Paykston, Jane's determination and defiance had led Anthony to leave her out of pride. Now, Anthony felt that pride was meaningless, especially when compared to Jane's worth.
Richard's appearance made Anthony even more certain that he couldn't tolerate Jane marrying another man.
Anthony also couldn't stand marrying a woman who wasn't Jane.
