Chapter 328 Oliver's Pride

"Your cousin invited me," Lucas replied, quickly shifting the blame to Lilian.

Lilian did not hesitate and said, "Yes, I invited Lucas here!"

Lilian thought it was suffocating to be a third wheel around Oliver and Natalie, so she invited Lucas here.

Although Lucas liked teasing her, he was quite fun to have around. Moreover, during their last conversation, he had patiently answered all her questions.

Oliver gritted his teeth and rested his arm on Natalie's shoulder.

Lucas laughed happily and asked, “Why? Are you unhappy to meet me? However, I’m very happy to be here!”

Lucas felt a sense of satisfaction seeing Oliver so irritated by his presence. He still had a bone to pick with Oliver concerning the rumors involving him and Susan.

"Alright, go and chat first while I prepare dinner,” Natalie announced, making her way to the kitchen.

"Let me help you!" Lucas volunteered enthusiastically.

Oliver promptly made his way upstairs.

Normally, when Natalie cooked, the staff would help, making the process smoother. However, it was even better with Lucas’ help.

In the kitchen, the siblings busied themselves, working in harmony.

Lilian, feeling somewhat out of place, lingered at the entrance to the kitchen, her gaze flitting about the room. She observed Lucas and Natalie, thinking to herself, ‘Although Lucas is a good cook, he can only help when he’s with Natalie.’

Seizing the moment, Lilian took out her phone and captured a photo of Natalie, sharing it on her Instagram with the caption: [I can’t wait for the final meal of the year!]

Shortly after the post, fans began to comment.

Unknown: [Why do I feel that person looks so familiar.]

Unknown: [I agree.]

Unknown: [Isn’t that Natalie?]

It was a mystery to Lilian how these individuals could identify Natalie from merely her silhouette.

Lilian: [How did you know?]

Unknown: [Your Instagram is filled with Natalie’s picture!]

A fan of Natalie left a comment, asking: [What’s your relationship with Natalie? Jane, is this your secret account?]

Lilian: [I’m her assistant.]

She definitely did not dare to pretend to be Jane, who was too scary!

At this time, Lucas approached to get some eggs. For his height as advantage, he quickly glanced at Lilian's phone and saw the ongoing conversation.

"It’s almost the new year, and you’re going to be a year older, but you’re still so naive. Why did you admit it so honestly? You could’ve denied it,” Lucas said.

“I’m not naive!” Lilian protested.

"Alright, you’ve convinced me; you're not naive," Lucas remarked, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

After getting the eggs, Lucas continued helping Natalie in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, Oliver received a call from Susan, who sounded hopeful as she asked, "Will you join me for the New Year's Eve celebration?"

Oliver declined immediately. "No."

At the same time, his attention drifted toward the kitchen. His attention was all on Natalie at this moment.

Susan said, disappointed, “Is there something pressing you have to do?”

"No, I just have other plans," Oliver replied curtly.

After ending the call, Oliver made his way to the kitchen, positioning himself beside Lilian. He leaned against the doorframe lazily and watched Natalie cook.

"You’re so lucky!" Lilian remarked to Oliver with a hint of envy.

Oliver turned toward her curiously.

Lilian added, "You’re able to enjoy Natalie’s cooking every day."

A subtle smile of satisfaction briefly crossed Oliver's face.

Indeed, he was lucky to have her. It was not surprising that people were envious of him.
