Chapter 1006 In Case Your Legs Go Weak
"The ship is already heading back." Anthony asked Jane, "Which outfit would you like to wear today?"
"Whatever."
The memories of last night began to surface, and Jane closed her eyes tightly, cursing herself.
Anthony held an outfit Jane had never seen before, with the tags still on, and placed it on the bedside table. It was a new GUCCI release for this year.
'It must have been bought by Anthony on the cruise,' Jane thought.
The cruise had a small shopping mall filled with top luxury clothing and jewelry.
Jane felt that the wine she drank last night didn't go to her stomach but to her head. Otherwise, how could she have finished the remaining red wine alone and then acted foolishly?
Jane tried hard to recall if there was something wrong with her mind at the time.
When Jane's mind was a bit clearer back then, she thought that since Jovan had returned, she could leave Anthony.
'So, I acted this way last night because I am about to leave Anthony,' Jane thought.
Jane found it hard to believe that there must have been something wrong with her mind back then. Now that her mind was clear, she felt extremely and utterly regretful.
Jane came out after changing her clothes, and lunch was already set on the dining table.
Anthony knew that Jane had high standards for food, so he ordered very exquisite and delicious dishes today.
"Why not eat in the restaurant?" Jane asked casually as she sat down at the table.
Then she heard Anthony across from her say, "In case your legs go weak."
Jane realized what Anthony meant by that and coughed awkwardly.
'It is just one night that I slept with Anthony. I actually used to sleep with him before! Although my legs are a bit weak.
'Why did he say such inappropriate things? It's time for lunch!' Jane thought.
Jane glared at Anthony unhappily and ate with head bowed down, muttering, "I must have had something wrong with my head last night!"
"Indeed," Anthony agreed wholeheartedly.
Jane was so angry that she didn't want to look at Anthony.
The cruise docked at dusk.
Guests disembarked one after another. A row of top luxury cars lined the dock.
"What are you looking at?" Anthony noticed that Jane had been glancing around since they got off the ship, as if looking for someone.
"Nothing, not looking at anything." Jane couldn't possibly tell Anthony she was looking for Jovan.
Anthony squinted, suspecting Jane was looking for Ainslee or Richard.
On this ship, besides Ainslee and Richard, Jane clearly had no interest in anyone else.
On the way from the dock to the airport, Jane checked her phone for flights back to Paykston. As she looked, she remembered that she hadn't told Anthony she was leaving.
"Anthony."
"What is it?"
Anthony seemed to be in a good mood and turned his head to look at Jane .
"Next week Natalie is giving birth and I need to go back." Jane thought if she directly said she was going back to Paykston, Anthony might tie her up here.
Anthony looked at Jane deeply for a few seconds and said, "I'll take you next week."
Anthony's meaning was clear that he would personally take Jane with him and personally bring her back.
Jane lowered her eyes and said no more.
Jane felt that Anthony had already figured out her trick.
The return flight was booked for that day. And sleeping on the plane for one night would get her to Southvale.
At the airport, Jane stood under the rolling flight information screen, looking at the information. One of the flights was to Paykston in two hours.
"What are you looking at?" Anthony already had two boarding passes in his hand, one of which was Jane's.
Anthony was expressionless and his eyes were not exactly gentle.
Jane knew that Anthony had already seen through her intentions, so she stopped beating around the bush. "Anthony, I want to go back. I don't want to go to your house."
Jane had initially gone to the Clark family because of Jovan. Now that she had found Jovan and knew he was safe, she naturally had no reason to go back.
"Jane," Anthony's voice turned cold, laced with heavy sarcasm.
Anthony said, "You slept with me last night, and now you want to leave. That was the last fling before breaking up?"
It was too late for Jane to shut Anthony up.
Anthony didn't bother to lower his voice, and several passing travelers gave Jane strange looks.
One even shook his head regretfully, as if to say, "Such a handsome guy getting dumped, how tragic! This beautiful woman is exactly a heartbreaker."
Jane felt she couldn't explain herself clearly, so she took a deep breath and tried to reason with Anthony. "Let's not talk about anything else. I'm not even your girlfriend, so what breakup?"
"Making me cheat," Anthony redefined her.
"I..." Jane felt guilty and quickly glanced around. Fortunately, no one heard this time.
Jane gave up trying to reason with Anthony.
"Yes, last night was my fault," Jane said. "But I don't want to go to your house. The threshold of your home makes me feel oppressed. Do you understand? Anthony, I drank too much last night. Just consider it my fault and pretend it didn't happen, okay? If you feel guilty about it to Aurora, you can confess to her and put all the blame on me. It was my fault originally, I..."
Before Jane could finish her sentence, Anthony grabbed her wrist and started walking out.
Anthony's strides were large and fast, and Jane couldn't keep up. She stumbled a few times and almost fell, having to jog to keep up.
Jane was shoved into a family restroom.
Airport restrooms were generally divided into four categories: men, women, mother and baby, and handicapped. Some large international airports also had family restrooms for the convenience of multiple people assisting with physiological needs.
Perhaps the restroom never expected to be used this way.
Jane was pinned against the wall by Anthony, feeling the cold tiles against her back. Anthony's face was frosty, his eyes filled with suppressed anger.
"Janes, can you not understand my words? Are you so eager to push me away?"
For this question, Jane had to argue with Anthony. "Anthony, there's a fact you need to understand. It's not that I'm pushing you away. It's that you originally belonged to Aurora."
"I originally belonged to you!"
Jane was stunned for a moment by Anthony's shout.
"You said it yourself. That was originally," Jane said. "Who doesn't have an ex? Anthony, I don't want to drag this out any longer. I want to go home."
Jovan was coming back, and she would soon have a home.
"Then let me tell you one more time," Anthony said, gripping Jane's chin obsessively, forcing her to look at him. "You can only be mine. Your home is with me!"
Jane laughed angrily, "Your home is quite big, isn't it? With Aurora, your soon-to-be-born baby, and now me. Am I supposed to help your wife give birth?"
Anthony didn't want to say that he wouldn't marry Aurora anymore.
He had said it too many times, and Jane didn't listen or believe him.
"Give me another month, at most a month and a half, and I will deal with Aurora's situation well," Anthony said.
