Chapter 1112 Too Noisy, Drag Her Out!

The lights in the operating room were a blinding red.

Sadie supported Ann, while Clint also brought in Aurora.

"Anthony, how's it going?" Ann's hands were trembling.

What had she done wrong? Two pregnant women had been rushed to the ER from her home in just one year!

Anthony seemed not to hear Ann's voice, his eyes fixed on the door of the operating room.

"Anthony..." Ann continued.

"Mrs. Clark." Sadie shook her head at Ann.

Ann's mind kept flashing back to her interactions with Jane during this period and her choices between Jane and Aurora. She sighed and sat down on a bench outside the operating room.

"Anthony, Jane falling down the stairs has nothing to do with me, I swear!" Aurora desperately explained to Anthony.

She knew how much Anthony loved Jane.

The more he loved Jane, the more he would hate her!

She had to prove her innocence!

"Too noisy." Anthony didn't even look at Aurora. "Take her out!"

"Yes." Clint had the bodyguards take Aurora out and lock her in the car.

Anthony recalled a few months ago, waiting in front of the same operating room for another pregnant woman.

But his feelings were completely different.

At that time, he just wanted Aurora to deliver the baby quickly to prove that he had nothing to do with her.

But now, he didn't care about the baby; he just wanted Jane to be safe.

After what seemed like an eternity, the red light above the operating room finally turned off.

The door of the operating room opened, and the doctor came out.

"Doctor, how's the baby?" Ann immediately asked.

The doctor glanced at Ann but finally looked at Anthony. "The baby didn't make it; it was a fully formed male fetus. The mother is still in critical condition and needs to be monitored. You can visit her in the ward in an hour."

A fully formed boy. Ann felt like she had been struck by lightning, stumbling and almost falling to the ground.

Jane was in a VIP single room.

Since they couldn't enter the ward yet, Anthony stood outside, looking in through a short section of transparent glass.

He stood motionless, his eyes unblinking.

It seemed like he was trying hard to suppress some emotion, and any disturbance from the outside world might cause him to explode.

Even Clint didn't dare to speak to Anthony lightly at this moment.

"Mr. Clark, I'm sorry, I failed your trust today," Sadie apologized to Anthony with her head down.

Everyone else watched Anthony cautiously.

Just when everyone thought Anthony wouldn't speak, he asked, "Has Jane been acting strangely lately?"

"Huh?" Sadie was taken aback, not understanding why Anthony suddenly asked this, and quickly recalled. "There wasn't anything particularly strange...Oh, the servant responsible for Ms. Watkins' diet told me that Ms. Watkins specifically asked about the vitamins and calcium tablets she was taking."

"What did she ask? When did she ask?" Anthony asked hurriedly.

"After Ms. Watkins came back from her prenatal checkup, she asked why Mrs. Clark suddenly thought of giving her calcium and vitamin tablets. The servant said Aurora gave them." Sadie felt something was wrong as she finished speaking.

"Aurora?" Anthony narrowed his eyes dangerously.

He knew about Jane taking vitamins and calcium tablets, but he didn't know Aurora gave them!

Anthony immediately called the bodyguards at Clark Manor and asked them to bring the calcium and vitamin tablets to the hospital for testing.

"Mr. Clark, when Mrs. Clark got the calcium and vitamin tablets, she had them tested at the hospital to make sure they were safe before giving them to Ms. Watkins," Sadie explained.

Anthony said nothing; he only trusted tests he conducted himself and the results he saw with his own eyes.

An hour later, after the doctor and nurse checked the ward, they came out.

"You can now visit the patient," the doctor said.

"Thank you." Anthony nodded to the doctor and immediately walked in.

Late at night, Jane lay on the hospital bed, eyes closed, giving Anthony the terrifying illusion that she would never wake up.

Jane had been thin during her pregnancy, and now, with her belly flat, she looked even thinner.

"The patient is out of the critical period, but it will take some time for her to wake up," the attending doctor explained. Seeing that Anthony had no questions, he left the ward.

The VIP ward was on a high floor with plenty of sunlight.

A bright light shone through the window onto the bed.

Anthony knelt on one knee beside Jane's bed, holding her hand tightly.

He said, "Jane, please wake up. Once you do, I'll agree to anything you want."

Anthony was terrified that Jane might choose to sleep forever.

Across from Jane's ward was an empty conference room that Anthony had Clint temporarily rent.

Aurora was brought by the bodyguards from the car to the conference room, where Anthony and Ann were already waiting.

Anthony sat expressionless at the head of the table, like a cold-blooded judge.

Ann looked somewhat haggard, her eyes filled with sadness as she looked at Aurora.

She had thought she was about to have a grandchild twice. The first time, she ended up raising a child for the Hubert family, which felt like a joke. The second time, she saw the child leave with her own eyes.

Comparatively, Jane's situation hit Ann harder. She had finally accepted Jane and was looking forward to the child, only to end up with such a miserable result.

"Ann, please believe me, I really didn't push her!" Aurora began to cry as soon as she entered the room. She knew her current situation; if she didn't prove her innocence, she was done for.

Irritating Anthony completely, she could only save herself now.

Ann couldn't bear Aurora's pitiful appearance, so she turned her eyes away and said harshly, "Aurora, if you want me to take your word for it, provide the proof!"

Anthony said nothing, just coldly scrutinized Aurora. No one knew what he was thinking.

Aurora gripped the edge of the table, trying hard to suppress her inner resentment.

She said, "Jane, Jane resents me for plotting against her before, and this time, she's using the same trick to frame me!"

Old memories resurfaced in Ann's mind.

Ann remembered the accident when Aurora fell while pregnant. She had thought Jane pushed Aurora and even slapped Jane, but it turned out the whole thing was orchestrated by Aurora herself.

Ann closed her eyes in pain, her guilt reaching its peak at that moment.

Realizing that Ann was a dead end, Aurora turned to Anthony.

"Anthony, no, Mr. Clark, I swear to God, I really didn't push her. I swear on my child's life! If I did, let my son face the direst of ends!"

Ann felt that Aurora was more unfamiliar than ever at that moment, her eyes filled with obsession and madness like a lunatic.

How had Aurora become like this?

A woman who swore on her child's life wouldn't hesitate to push a pregnant woman.

Besides, Aurora had once used her child to frame Jane.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
