Chapter 1105 Anthony

"Ann, it's been a while. How have you been? You look younger every day."

Aurora immediately smiled as soon as she saw Ann; the disgust on her face from earlier vanished without a trace. She could switch moods faster than a book could be flipped through.

Ann was delighted by Aurora's flattery and affectionately held Aurora's hand. "You always know what to say, Aurora!"

'hmph! Unlike Aurora, Jane always has a cold face and doesn't know how to please me.' Ann thought to herself.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, Aurora took out a few bottles of supplements from her bag.

"Ann, these are the things my doctor recommended when I was pregnant," Aurora said, introducing each item. "These are vitamin tablets, and these are calcium tablets. They aren't expensive, but they are a token of my goodwill. I hope you don't mind accepting them."

With Aurora saying this, it was hard for Ann to refuse, especially since she and Aurora used to be close. It wouldn't be polite to turn her down.

"Alright, I'll thank you on Jane's behalf," Ann said.

Aurora smiled, but inside, she felt cold and sarcastic.

Listen to Ann's words, thanking her on Jane's behalf—doesn't that mean she's already considering Jane as a family?

After seeing Aurora off, Ann stared at the bottles of vitamins and calcium tablets.

"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Clark?" Sadie asked.

"Aurora used to like Anthony so much; now that Jane is pregnant with Anthony's child, can she really be so kind and generous to give Jane supplements? Could there be something wrong with these vitamins and calcium tablets?" Ann sighed. "Am I being too suspicious?"

Ann was born and raised in a wealthy family, and she was protected by her family all these years. The only malicious thoughts she ever had were probably towards Jane.

Sadie also didn't trust Aurora but didn't want to tell Ann not to use the things Aurora brought.

"Mrs. Clark, if you're worried, you can have these supplements tested."

Ann thought it was a good idea. She opened the seals on the calcium and vitamin bottles, took out two pills from each, and sent them to the hospital for testing.

Jane woke up earlier than usual today because of a leg cramp.

Leg cramps are common for pregnant women, and Jane cursed Anthony in her mind several hundred times.

On her way downstairs, she overheard some servants talking.

"Aurora is already married to Hubert; why is she still coming to see Mr. and Mrs. Clark? She really has thick skin!"

"Well, you can't entirely blame Aurora. I heard she always thought the child was Mr. Clark's. She's a victim, too."

"Aurora and Mrs. Clark are so close. Maybe Mrs. Clark still thinks about her. Otherwise, why would Mrs. Clark entertain her?"

"Poor Jane, she's having Mr. Clark's child, but she doesn't have any status and isn't liked by Mrs. Clark."

"Well, that's Jane's fault. If she didn't want to have a child, who could force her?"

"That's true. There are too many cases of using a child to get married."

"Ms. Watkins," a servant said, helping Jane downstairs.

She was from Emerald Gardens, loyal to Anthony and Jane, naturally thinking of Jane's well-being.

Jane blinked, asking, "What?"

The servant continued, "Don't listen to their nonsense. Aurora came to visit, and Mrs. Clark entertained her out of politeness, right?"

"Indeed," Jane replied.

But Ann wasn't polite to just anyone. At least, the old Ann had no courtesy towards the old her. To put it bluntly, it was because the visitor was Aurora.

"Ms. Watkins." One of the servants downstairs saw Jane turning back upstairs.

Jane said, "Bring me breakfast in the small garden."

She didn't want to go down and see those gossiping servants. They all mocked her behind her back and then smiled obsequiously when she came down. It was really annoying.

She didn't want them to upset her and affect her baby.

With many servants, gossip was inevitable, which was why Jane never liked having servants at home.

Unfortunately, this wasn't her home, and she didn't have the final say.

After seeing Aurora off, Ann returned to the main building and found that Jane hadn't come downstairs yet.

"Jane hasn't gotten up yet?" Ann frowned. Although pregnant women tend to be sleepy, too much sleep isn't good for the body.

The servant looked a bit uncomfortable. "Ms. Watkins woke up but didn't come downstairs. Maybe she knows Ms. Dewar was here."

Someone had brought breakfast to Jane upstairs, and the servants downstairs knew Jane was awake. They didn't think it was because Jane had overheard their conversation but had found another reasonable explanation.

Aurora used to be very favored by the Clark family. Jane's presence was awkward compared to Aurora, so it was normal for Jane to feel uncomfortable, right?

Ann thought so, too. But when she looked up at Jane's room on the second floor through the atrium, she couldn't help but reflect if she had been too harsh.

After all, Jane was now having a child for the Clark family, and Jane's looks and intelligence were so good that many families would be envious.

The hospital test results came back quickly.

The results showed that the calcium and vitamin tablets Aurora brought were fine.

Ann breathed a sigh of relief.

Jane sulked in her room all morning and then found it pointless.

It wasn't like she just found out that Ann had issues with her. What was there to be angry about?

No one would care if she got sick from being angry.

Anyway, once she had this baby, she would leave the Clark family and have nothing to do with Ann. When Jovan returned to the country, everything would be fine.

After figuring it out, Jane went downstairs to eat.

"These are calcium and vitamin tablets, two each day." Ann suppressed her guilt and handed the bottles to Jane, thinking it was a gesture of goodwill.

Jane glanced at her and said, "Oh," then looked at the bottles, confirming the ingredients were fine.

Calcium, vitamins, and folic acid supplements were all things the servants reminded Jane to take daily. Jane didn't have to worry about when to take them or how much.

Recently, Aurora frequently invited Ann out, always under the pretense of preparing for the future child.

Every time Ann came back, she would buy a bunch of baby supplies, which annoyed Jane.

This was her child, not Aurora's. Why should Aurora be involved in buying things for her child?

Anthony was very perceptive and noticed that Jane had been sulking lately.

Although Jane usually had a calm expression, appearing aloof to outsiders, Anthony, who had watched Jane grow up, understood her micro-expressions very well. When she looked indifferent, it meant she was in a good mood. When she was in a bad mood, she would habitually droop her eyes, just like now.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
