Chapter 1067 Is Anthony Possessed by a Ghost?

Anthony knew that was exactly what Jane was thinking; otherwise, she wouldn't have wanted to return to Paykston so badly but ended up in Southvale.

She didn't accept him. To be precise, she didn't even accept the child.

The grown-up Jane was more heartless than he had imagined.

"Yes." Jane didn't hide her thoughts. "Anthony, not telling them is also a good thing for you."

"A good thing?" Anthony sneered dismissively.

"If Natalie knew I was accidentally pregnant and didn't want to have this child, then he wouldn't be born," Jane stated the fact.

Natalie could leverage Oliver's power, and Flora had Arthur's support. Anthony alone couldn't stand against the Windsor family brothers.

Anthony remained silent. Jane was right; thinking about it this way, he should indeed be grateful that Jane didn't choose to return to Paykston.

But what he always wanted was Jane, not a child.

Their unhappy conversation last night was like an unpleasant episode. By the next day, neither Jane nor Anthony mentioned it again.

Both were smart people and didn't want to argue excessively over an unpleasant matter.

In Jane's view, the next few months would have to be spent with Anthony, so they had to ensure a peaceful cohabitation atmosphere.

And Anthony purely didn't want Jane to be unhappy.

But the unpleasantness from the previous night somewhat affected Anthony; so the next day, he proactively asked Jane, "Do you want to go out for a walk?"

"Where to?" Jane asked.

"Wherever you want to go," he replied.

Jane didn't want to go anywhere.

Anthony was about to say something when he suddenly received a call from his company secretary, saying that an important foreign partner had suddenly arrived in Southvale and would be at the company in an hour.

The uninvited guest hadn't made an appointment or given prior notice. In such a situation, it wasn't necessary for Anthony to show up, but he had a new idea.

"Do you want to visit the company?" He just wanted to be with Jane.

He wanted to keep Jane in his sight at all times, like hoarding a precious treasure, a treasure that naturally needed to be watched over constantly to feel at ease.

Jane was about to say no, but the words stuck in her mouth, and she changed her mind, saying, "Sure."

'Might as well go and take a look,' she thought.

She wanted to see what the high-paid planning team that specialized in studying her was doing all day.

The driver was momentarily stunned when he saw Jane coming out with Anthony, but quickly and respectfully greeted, "Good day, Ms. Watkins."

Everyone around Anthony knew that Jane, who had no official title or status, was the most precious person in Anthony's heart.

Even if he could be disrespectful to Anthony, he couldn't be disrespectful to Jane.

But why would Jane go to the company with Anthony today? Was she going to declare her status as Anthony's wife?

It didn't seem like it; it looked more like Anthony was pursuing Jane.

The Clark Group was located in the CBD center of Southvale, occupying an entire towering building.

Anthony took Jane through his private passage and quickly reached the top floor's executive office.

"I have to meet a client in a bit. You can walk around the company freely. If you need anything, just find Clint," he said.

As Anthony led Jane to the office, he noticed her shoelace was loose.

The secretarial staff, hearing Anthony's voice, came out to greet him, only to see their always cold and ruthless boss kneeling on one knee in front of a woman, patiently tying her shoelace, his fingertips exuding tenderness.

The secretarial staff was utterly shocked.

'Is this the same Anthony who never ever glanced at women?'

'Has Anthony been possessed?'

'And the woman's reaction is so calm!'

Jane, the person involved, wasn't very shocked.

When she and Anthony were in a relationship before, he not only tied her shoelaces but also fed her meals personally.

At that time, Natalie had joked that Anthony treated Jane like a daughter, caring for her like a father.

Anthony stood up, looked at the stunned secretaries, his gaze returning to its usual coldness, a stark contrast to his demeanor while tying the shoelace, as if he were a different person.

The secretaries snapped back to reality, shivering and stammering, "Good morning, Mr. Clark!"

"When I'm not around, everything goes according to her wishes." The "her" in Anthony's words naturally referred to Jane.

"Everything?" Jane caught the interesting keyword.

"Yes," Anthony replied.

Jane's eyes sparkled. "What if I deliberately cause trouble for you? With one word, I could cost you billions."

Although Jane only ran a personal studio, her strong financial management skills were well-known back then.

She could indeed, with one word, make the Clark Group lose billions in revenue.

"As long as you're happy, go ahead and cause trouble." Anthony was completely indifferent.

The secretaries wondered if they were hearing things.

Why was Anthony suddenly so absurd?

Anthony took two secretaries with him to meet the foreign partner. After a while, Clint, who had been specifically left behind by Anthony, approached Jane.

Seeing the secretaries' puzzled and speculative faces, Clint, knowing they were unaware of Jane's identity, introduced, "This is Jane Watkins."

Just mentioning Jane's name was enough; nothing else needed to be said.

The secretaries suddenly understood, realizing that the distinguished woman before them was Jane. Suddenly, all of Anthony's actions made sense and were completely understandable.

They all knew, everyone around Anthony knew, that he had someone he couldn't let go of in his heart, Jane.

"Ms. Watkins, would you like to see the company? I can show you around." Clint offered.

The secretaries exchanged knowing glances: Anthony's right-hand man was offering to show Anthony's future wife around the company.

"No." Jane wasn't interested. "This company has nothing to do with me."

Clint thought, 'It does! As long as you marry Anthony, this company will be yours!'

But clearly, Jane didn't have that thought.

"Take me to see that planning team." Jane showed a hint of interest.

"Which planning team?" Clint's expression was evasive, clearly knowing but pretending not to.

"The high-paid planning team that gives Anthony ideas," she answered.

Clint wasn't very willing.

He had mentioned the planning team to Jane only to speak well of Anthony, not expecting Jane to come to the company to see it. But since Jane asked, he had to comply.

Jane saw through Clint's thoughts and reassured him. "Don't worry, if there's any embarrassment, it won't be yours."

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
