Chapter 318 No More Jealousy

Oliver ignited the engine, his expression clearly saying, ‘If you said you’re not jealous, then I won’t ask any more questions’.

Natalie was about to speak, driven by curiosity and a desire to understand the nature of Oliver's relationship with Susan, but she found herself at a loss for words. For a brief moment, she felt a surge of irritation.

The others also entered their cars one after another.

Oliver lowered his window and gestured, signaling the others to go ahead. He chose to follow at the rear.

Past ten in the evening, the roads were sparsely populated, with the sports cars in the lead cutting through swiftly.

Oliver, however, drove his Ferrari at a pace comparable to an electric bicycle. It seemed he was biding his time, waiting for something.

Finally, Natalie asked in a low voice, "Oliver, as your wife, don’t you think I have the right to know about your relationship with Susan?”

"Of course," Oliver replied, maneuvering the steering wheel with one hand while casting a brief glance at Natalie before focusing back on the road. "However, I prefer to share it only if my wife is jealous."

"Oliver! You’re unreasonable!" Natalie exclaimed.

Oliver merely clicked his tongue and responded calmly, "And shameless too. Didn’t you already know this?”

Natalie shut her eyes, frustrated.

She thought, ‘How could people think he’s so amazing? Do they have a problem with their eyesight?’

"Alright, I’m jealous! I’m really jealous!" Natalie became angrier the more she spoke. Her jealousy over Susan’s presence was now utterly overshadowed by Oliver's provocations.

Oliver could not help but smirk. Whether her jealousy was genuine mattered little to him; he found satisfaction in her admission. He disclosed, “Susan once helped me. The person she likes is Arthur.”

He reasoned that it was best for Natalie to hear about Susan and Arthur from him directly, rather than hearing about it from Susan later. He hoped she would not find out that he played a role in pushing Arthur and Susan together.

Natalie had not anticipated such a revelation.

If that were true, it made sense for Oliver to take care of Susan. Despite his cold exterior, he was neither heartless nor ungrateful. He did not forget those who had helped him.

However, Natalie recalled the way Susan looked at Oliver...

Susan‘s gaze brimmed with longing and happiness when she looked at him, and it did not quite match the gaze one had when looking at a friend.

Natalie was confused and skeptical, but she did not say anything in the end.

The Ferrari came to a halt outside the racing club.

By the time they arrived, the others were already there, chatting in small groups as they waited for Oliver's arrival.

Oliver took his time before exiting the vehicle, gently pinching Natalie's cheek, he whispered, "No longer feeling jealous?"

Natalie gave a noncommittal hum. She was not exactly jealous, she was perhaps just a little upset.

"Would you like to continue with the evening's plans? We can head home if you're not up for it." Oliver noticed Natalie's lack of enthusiasm for the evening's activities.

"Can we really go home?" Natalie responded promptly.

The prospect of seeing Susan again was unappealing to her. Moreover, she had an interview scheduled for the next day. Staying out late was far from ideal, as it could compromise her mental sharpness and adversely affect her appearance.

However, she suddenly said, “Wait for me. I’ll be back in a while.”

She approached Barrett, requesting a moment of his time for a private conversation.

From a distance, Oliver looked at Barrett, clearly displeased.

"What do you want from me? Let me tell you, there’s no use in trying to flatter me, and I won't accept your apology,” Barrett said arrogantly in the absence of Oliver.

"Why would I flatter you or apologize to you? I earned those chips through my own abilities," Natalie retorted calmly.

Barrett, feeling a surge of irritation, asked skeptically, "Then, what do you want from me?"

“I can guess why you don’t like me. During the poker game, I just wanted to show you that, apart from my background, you have no reason to look down on me at all,” Natalie said seriously.
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
