Chapter 801 Oliver, I'm sorry.
But now, Oliver even allowed Neil to take pictures! How could this have not been intentional?
Oliver chuckled softly.
"Why are you laughing?" Natalie asked.
"I'm laughing because someone is helping us showcase our love. It's a good thing."
At this moment, Oliver's intentions were clear. He was not concerned that Natalie might discover his secret. After all, he was there at someone else’s invitation, was he not?
On the way back, Oliver clutched the mugs he had acquired, admiring them continually.
"You seldom drink coffee. This mug is useless," Natalie remarked, though what she really wanted to say was, 'Don't think too much of this mug. You're reading too much into it.'
Oliver glanced at Natalie and replied, "I'll drink more coffee in the future."
Natalie was rendered speechless by his reply.
"We're not heading back to the Moon Hotel?" Natalie asked. She had been looking at the street view outside the window and quickly realized something was amiss.
"We're not going back there," Oliver confirmed as he finally placed the mugs into the shockproof bag.
"Then where are we going?"
Ten minutes later, the car turned into a prestigious street in the city center and stopped in front of a villa.
The driver opened the door for Oliver.
In the few seconds Natalie was in shock, Oliver had already walked around to the other side of the car and opened the door for her.
Sensing something, Natalie pointed at the villa and asked, "Is this yours?"
Oliver nodded. "I just remembered I bought it previously. It was being cleaned a few days ago."
If Oliver had remembered he owned this villa earlier, he would have brought her here as soon as they landed.
Natalie was momentarily speechless, but ultimately, she raised her thumb in praise.
"I had planned to buy one when I flew here, but I was trying not to be too extravagant," Oliver claimed innocently. He admitted his fondness for spending money but felt like he had been restraining himself.
Natalie said, "I'm amazed that you actually forgot you had a house in such a prime location."
Not only did he own a house, but the decorations inside were also exquisite. The furniture and other furnishings were as costly as the house itself. That thumbs-up she gave him was indeed well-deserved.
…
Feeling exhausted, Natalie took an aromatherapy bath in the evening. She was unsure if it was due to the exhaustion of the day, but the steam made her feel drowsy. In her dream, she returned to the hospital she had secretly visited earlier that day.
"Natalie, your report is here!" the nurse called out, mispronouncing her name.
Then the doctor advised, "Your baby's position is unstable. You need to rest more. How could you go around like this? Do you not understand the responsibilities of being pregnant?"
Natalie stared at the doctor in confusion for a moment, then abruptly lowered her head to look at her protruding belly in shock. She was pregnant? Before she could gather her thoughts, the scene shifted.
She found herself in a dimly lit operating room, lying on a cold table. The doctor held menacing surgical instruments and said, "You're here for an abortion, right? Don't worry, in just a few minutes, the fetus inside your belly will be removed."
"No," she firmly refused.
Natalie felt an overwhelming sense of terror. She shook her head vigorously but could not find her voice.
The doctor approached with the surgical tools and said coldly, "It'll be over soon. Look at these forceps in my right hand. Just one insertion, and it'll end the fetus's life."
'Don't do this! This is too cruel. This can't be happening. Am I really pregnant? What is going on?'
"No, don't!"
"Wake up! Wake up, Natalie!"
Natalie's eyes flew open, and she took deep, frantic breaths. What she saw first was Oliver's anxious and concerned expression.
"Oliver."
She called his name almost instinctively. She looked around and realized she was still in the bathroom, the only difference being that the water in the bathtub had turned cold.
"Natalie, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Oliver's expression darkened as he stared at her intently.
"It's nothing." Natalie swallowed, her throat feeling dry. She looked at him and managed to say, "I need water."
"Let me help you out first," Oliver suggested as he reached out to lift her.
A loud noise startled Natalie. She recoiled like a frightened animal and instinctively pushed Oliver's hand away.
In Oliver's eyes, Natalie saw her own extreme wariness, along with a fleeting look of pain in his eyes.
Oliver furrowed his brows and gazed deeply at her.
"I'm sorry," Natalie licked her lips and repeated, "Oliver, I want water."
It was clear that Oliver did not want to leave her side even for a moment. He was concerned about not having Natalie in his sight, but at the moment, there were no maids available to assist.
He watched her for a few moments, feeling helpless, then finally got up to get her some water. As he took a step, he turned back to restart the bathtub's heating function before hurrying out of the bathroom.
As the water temperature gradually increased, Natalie felt the cold sensation from her dream dissipate, perhaps triggered by the previously cold water. But why would she have such a dream?
Natalie touched her abdomen and closed her eyes, trying to recall the report she had received earlier that day. The test results indeed confirmed that she was not pregnant. Was she losing her mind?
Oliver quickly returned with a half cup of warm water, squatting next to the bathtub. He supported Natalie’s body with one hand and helped her drink with the other, skillfully.
Natalie remembered the early days of her marriage to Oliver, when he was still unfamiliar with these tasks. He had even seemed clumsy when blow-drying her hair, but now he knew exactly how to care for her.
"Oliver, I'm sorry," Natalie said softly, her voice filled with remorse.
Oliver raised an eyebrow, clearly displeased with Natalie's tendency to blame herself. He gently pinched her chin and lifted it, forcing her to meet his gaze.
"Natalie, you should know that I don't want to hear apologies right now."
Oliver was clearly hurt by Natalie's defensive reaction earlier. At that moment, he felt as if a poisoned needle had stabbed into his heart.
"I just had a nightmare," Natalie explained.
"You had a nightmare, so you woke up and targeted me?" Oliver asked, his anger softening into resignation. He sighed and asked, "What did you dream about?"
"Things from the past," Natalie said, ready with an explanation for her nightmare.
Natalie's past did indeed have many unpleasant memories.
However, Oliver did not completely believe her explanation, but seeing her innocent expression, he decided not to press further.
"Are you still planning to take a bath?" Oliver asked as he stood up to fetch a towel.
