Chapter 410 Daddy, Hold Me
The company group chat was alive with excitement as candid snapshots of the 'family of three'.
Unaware of the commotion, Natalie concentrated on her immediate responsibilities.
During the ride to Rosewood Estate, Tina had slept, waking only upon their arrival.
Liam was taken aback upon seeing the child. He asked Natalie tentatively, "Is this your daughter?"
She responded with a smile, shaking her head. "No, she's not."
Liam laughed in relief. "I just assumed... She looks quite like Oliver did as a child."
Privately, he thought, 'The resemblance is striking!'
Natalie pondered whether Tina might be related to distant members of the Windsor family, considering their noticeable resemblance.
Now awake, Tina quietly observed her new environment with a sense of curiosity.
As dinner time neared, Natalie adapted the menu to suit Tina's needs, while Liam took care of securing a high chair and utensils suitable for a child.
Watching the dinner preparations, Natalie was struck by a surreal sensation, as if she and Oliver were truly parents to Tina.
Tina dove into her meal energetically, though her attempts at using a spoon were charmingly clumsy, resulting in occasional spills.
Oliver was captivated by Tina's behavior and turned to Natalie before he asked with a puzzled expression, "How's it possible for her to eat so much, considering her size?"
Natalie chuckled. "It remains one of the many small mysteries of life."
Hearing their conversation, Tina frowned. "Why did you say I eat a lot?"
Oliver was amused by her response. "But you did eat a lot!"
At a loss for a comeback, Tina sought comfort from Natalie. "Mama, Daddy is being mean!"
Natalie was slightly surprised when Oliver did not correct Tina's way of addressing him. He seemed to be enjoying the role. Upon reflection, she realized that she also had not corrected Tina's way of addressing her, not wanting to upset Tina.
Oliver continued to ask playfully, “How am I being mean?”
Natalie was familiar with this playful aspect of Oliver; it brought back memories of their initial light-hearted exchanges.
"You said I ate a lot,”"Tina stated.
Oliver smiled. "That’s a compliment."
Tina turned to Natalie, seeking her judgment, her trust in Natalie unwavering.
Natalie concurred, "That's right. It means you have a healthy appetite!"
Tina's face lit up. "That’s what my mommy says!"
Oliver sat back, observing the interaction with an expression of amusement and gentleness on his face. He thought that Natalie would make a great mother.
Liam, observing quietly, was brimming with questions.
'Why does Tina bear such a resemblance to Oliver if she's not related to him? And Natalie seems very close to the child despite only meeting the child today…' he thought.
Liam's thoughts drifted until he was interrupted by a voice.
“Arthur is here.”
Natalie was surprised. She wondered if Arthur's unexpected visit had anything to do with Flora.
Oliver seemed to have expected Arthur’s visit and gestured for Liam to lead Arthur in.
Arthur appeared, impeccably dressed in his business attire, though slightly disheveled from the day's activities.
Upon noticing Tina, Arthur came to a sudden halt. Tina's eyes were familiar, and they reminded him of…
As Natalie's eyes darted between Tina and Arthur, she started connecting the dots.
Tina's facial features, particularly her nose, resembled Flora's, and her eyes mirrored Arthur's.
This revelation caused Natalie's heart to skip a beat.
Earlier, at the company, Tina had commented that Oliver looked a little different from the photo that her mother showed her. As such, Oliver had immediately arranged for a paternity test. The results were yet to be disclosed, but he had a strong suspicion.
Upon hearing Arthur's arrival, Tina turned her head, her expression was one of confusion as she muttered, "Another daddy?"
She frowned in confusion as her eyes darted between Oliver and Arthur.
"Is it a mirror?" she quietly asked Natalie.
Natalie observed the brothers; they bore a resemblance, indeed, but were distinctly different.
”Sweetie, they are two separate people," Natalie explained gently.
Arthur, recovering his poise, moved forward with a hint of eagerness and caution, compelled by the striking resemblance of Flora in Tina's appearance.
As he approached, Tina grew nervous and reached out for Oliver, seeking safety.
"Daddy, hold me! There's a bad man!"
Natalie and Oliver shared a look as Arthur continued to approach; each step laden with the weight of a father's yearning.
