Chapter 115 Darling, Will You Come?

Adrian had never planned to share news of his engagement to Hailey with the world, nor their wedding details online. He thought it was enough that their close friends knew. This secrecy was important for him to keep seeing other women without getting caught. But he could not tell Hailey the real reason. Instead, he lied that sharing their news could affect the stock market and their business.

Hailey, happy with getting her way, managed to calm Adrian down after the news broke. She promised him a special night outdoors, and it worked.

As summer was ending, the weather started to cool down. It was not terrible, but it was not great either.

Oliver had been out of the country for a week. In two days, it would be Hailey and Adrian's engagement party. Natalie was not sure if she should go alone if Oliver did not come back, or just skip it.

As Natalie carefully measured and sifted the low-gluten flour, blending it meticulously with butter, her mind wandered. She was in the midst of preparing a blueberry pie, a task that usually brought her comfort, but today her thoughts were elsewhere.

In the midst of her baking, the shrill ring of the telephone pierced the quiet of the kitchen. She wiped her hands on her apron as she answered, hearing Jane's voice on the other end.

"Natalie, are you available? I need you to come to All Night Manor!" Jane's voice sounded urgent.

"All Night Manor?" Natalie repeated, a hint of hesitation in her voice.

The name alone stirred a mix of emotions within her. All Night Manor was a place that Natalie associated with less than fond memories. The thought of returning there was not an appealing one.

"Adrian’s having his bachelor party there. It's a wild frenzy with a bunch of people fooling around. The day after tomorrow is his wedding with Hailey. How about we give your sister a little gift?"

Jane clearly wanted Natalie to see firsthand the chaos and deception in Adrian and Hailey's relationship, which added to their already messy relationship.

Natalie was not surprised, considering Adrian and Hailey were not the most upright couple to begin with.

"Darling, will you come?" Jane asked. Then, remembering that Natalie was married, she quickly said, "If you're busy, I can take the photos for you!"

"I’ll come!" Natalie agreed. The thought of exposing any lies in Adrian and Hailey's relationship was satisfying, and she was curious to see what the night would reveal.

It took thirty minutes to drive from the Rosewood Estate to All Night Manor. Natalie quickly removed her gloves and apron, without bothering to tidy up her things. She greeted Liam and mentioned she had something to do.

Seeing her in a hurry, Liam arranged a car for her.

As the fancy car left the main building, Liam finally remembered what he wanted to tell her earlier.

Oliver would be back soon!

Oliver had arrived at the airport an hour ago and had informed Liam but intentionally kept it a secret from Natalie, hoping to surprise her.

‘It seems like that woman finally has feelings for me. She said she missed me…’

"Young Master," Liam greeted and took the coat from Oliver entered the living room.

Not seeing Natalie in the living room, Oliver headed directly for the kitchen. During their earlier phone conversation, Liam had mentioned that Natalie was busy preparing pastries.

The kitchen was in disarray, with the electronic scale, eggbeater, and flour sifter all left out on the counter, and the butter slowly melting into the flour, creating a rather unappealing sight.

Oliver could not help but furrow his brows.

Natalie had always been meticulous when it came to her cooking, making sure to put away ingredients when she was done and promptly washing the utensils. It was the first time he had ever seen it in such a state.

For a fleeting moment, Oliver's mind went blank, and panic began to grip his heart as he hastily exited the kitchen.

"Where's Natalie?"

Worry crept into him as he realized he had not been asking about her whereabouts during his week abroad.

Liam swiftly reassured him, saying, "Don't worry, Young Master. She left the house not long ago."

Finally, Oliver’s anxiety began to dissipate. He could not help but let out a self-deprecating chuckle. It had been a while since he had acted so out of character.
