Chapter 191 Oliver, Don't Act Recklessly
A group of wealthy heirs, who were not afraid of trouble and were afraid of the lack of entertainment, watched on with anticipation. The feud between two influential families was a mere spectacle. The risk of casualties did little to dampen their spirits. After all, they were there solely to watch the show.
"Oliver!"
Natalie swiftly alighted from her mount and approached. She held Oliver’s arm immediately as she asked worriedly, “What are you doing?”
Oliver, however, remained stoically indifferent to the murmurs and actions of the bystanders. Only to Natalie did he smile and say indifferently, “It appears that my niece has a rather sharp tongue. Perhaps her tongue should be ripped out…”
The crowd's reaction was instantaneous, a surge of cheers erupting as they reveled in the drama.
"Uncle Oliver…"
At his words, Noah's eyes brimmed with tears. She attempted to speak, but her voice seemed to be lost. Her mascara and eyeliner, mixed with tears, painted streaks down her cheeks.
Oliver only sneered in response.
“H-help, help me…” Noah’s pleading gaze flitted about, seeking help from her brother and his fiancée.
After all, Noah was Adrian’s little sister, whom he cherished since childhood. He was on the verge of confronting Oliver when Wyatt, whose presence was unnoticed until now, intervened.
"Consider the consequences, Adrian. Your sister's words were not just offensive to Natalie, but to her elder as well. She deserves to be taught a lesson. It’s not appropriate for you to intervene," Wyatt advised.
Adrian retorted with an incredulous expression on his face, “Did you not hear his threat? He intends to mutilate her!”
Attempting to quell the tension, Natalie intervened, saying gently, "Oliver, don’t be rash."
Then, she lowered her voice before she continued to say, “This isn’t the Windsor family’s mansion.”
After all, if Oliver’s cruel side was exposed to the people in this circle, when he revealed his true identity in the future, it would likely negatively affect RK Group and himself.
Oliver said, dismissive and indifferent, “I’ve stopped caring about what people think a decade ago.”
Natalie was at a loss. In her opinion, one’s reputation was somewhat important as well. It was not pleasant to be misunderstood, after all. Moreover, she did not want others to see him as emotionless and ruthless, especially not for her sake.
“Oliver…” Natalie called out again.
Oliver looked at Natalie for a few seconds. After a moment's consideration, he tossed Noah aside like a piece of trash.
Noah fell to the ground. She was in a miserable state. Oliver had not held back his strength earlier, and when she fell, dirt and grass stuck to her face. When Adrian tried to help her up, she refused, worried that Oliver would attack her, maiming or killing her.
“Useless,” Oliver said disdainfully as he stood next to Natalie. Clearly, he had only let Noah go because of Natalie’s plea.
Adrian looked at Oliver with an unreadable gaze, but when he looked at Oliver, a glimmer of joy could be seen. In his mind, the fact that Natalie saved Noah meant that she still cared about him.
Natalie, however, was not ready to absolve Noah so easily.
“Noah…”
The ordeal left Noah feeling as though she had narrowly escaped death. She sweated profusely, and her body trembled when she heard Natalie calling out.
“Since you managed to keep your tongue, is there anything you want to say?” Natalie asked, looking down at Noah.
“I-I’m sorry…” Noah said tremblingly.
Natalie laughed. “To whom are you apologizing?”
“Aunty Natalie, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have spoken to you in that manner.”
