Chapter 1116 Jane Didn't Want to See Him

Ann felt a wave of sadness, knowing that some things could never be changed.

When two equally strong individuals were at odds, reconciliation was more difficult as both had the power to stand their ground.

Anthony appeared utterly devoid of emotion. Ann realized that she might have been doing wrong from the start.

Yet, she found herself lacking the courage even to utter Anthony's name.

The families of Kimberly and the Dewar came to "redeem" Aurora. Upon learning of Aurora's schemes and the stillbirth of Anthony's firstborn, both families took a step back.

Aurora had indeed silently stirred up a hornet's nest. How could they placate Anthony and Ann's fury?

"Ann, we didn't instigate Aurora to do such evil deeds. How can we be held responsible?" Kimberly said awkwardly.

"Aurora married into your family, so she's your responsibility. She's the mother of your grandson and the wife of your son. If you don't take responsibility, should the Dewar family do it? What a ridiculous thought!" Linda said, looking away.

"Anthony, what do you think about this matter?" Otis asked.

Anthony gave both families a look of disgust and walked out the door.

He had no desire to exchange even a single word with them.

"Mr. Dewar, we called you here to solve the problem. Do we have to tell you how to solve it, too?!" Clint spoke on behalf of Anthony. "You can take your time figuring out a solution, but if this matter isn't properly handled, no one is leaving today."

For a moment, everyone's faces looked very unpleasant.

"You vile creature! First, you attempted to murder my grandson, and now Ann's as well!" Kimberly pointed at Aurora's nose and scolded. "If you were set on such actions, why involve us?!"

The main point was that they were implicated.

Aurora sat expressionless on the bench from beginning to end. Only now did the resentment and hatred that filled her heart manifest on her face and in her eyes, giving her the visage of a harpy from the underworld.

Had it not been for Jane's presence, Anthony would have married her. If Anthony had married her, she wouldn't have ended up with Hubert, a man always on the prowl for women, and she wouldn't have had to deal with the likes of Kimberly. If she was the person being loved by Anthony, Jane wouldn't have had the chance to plot against her.

In that case, Aurora was supposed to be Anthony's fiancée; Jane was the homewrecker.

'Yes, Jane was the third party who destroyed my family!' she thought.

Aurora, the obsessive woman, fell into a fixation and forgot that it was her idea to bring Jane to the Clark family in the first place.

She also forgot that Jane was forced to come.

Clint quickly caught up with Anthony.

"Mr. Clark, are we going to Paykston?" If so, he would immediately prepare the plane.

"Why go to Paykston?" Anthony's eyes lightly swept over Clint.

'Of course, to find Jane, right?' But Anthony's face looked too grim, and Clint didn't dare to say it.

He was afraid that if he said something he shouldn't, Anthony would challenge him to a duel and beat him until he doubted his life choices.

"Didn't someone from the Richardson family want to discuss the Veridiania mining business with us?" Anthony suddenly asked.

Clint thought for a moment and said, "Yes, a branch of the Richardson family approached us. At that time, you refused because of Mr. Watkins and Ainslee."

"Send someone to negotiate," Anthony said.

"Okay...huh?"

Clint didn't understand what Anthony was thinking. "But Mr. Clark, that branch is Ainslee's rival, which means they're Mr. Watkins' rival. You..."

Anthony gave him a cold look.

Clint immediately nodded. "Okay, I'll arrange it right away!"

The car was parked outside the hospital.

The driver got out and opened the door for Anthony. "Mr. Clark, where to?"

"The office," he replied.

"Mr. Clark, aren't we going...?" Clint retracted his words under Anthony's oppressive aura.

Anthony looked at the scenery speeding past the window. In an instant, the once-familiar city brought him a sense of emptiness and loneliness.

Here, no longer existed the person he loved.

Why not found Jane? That would only work if she were willing to see him.

Jovan didn't specifically hide their whereabouts when he took Jane away. Otherwise, Clint wouldn't have been able to track them down so quickly. Jovan also didn't hide Ainslee's presence, which was a way of telling Anthony that if Jane didn't want to see him, even if he came to Paykston, he wouldn't be able to see her.

Jane probably didn't want to see him now.

He couldn't even protect their child. Initially, Jane rejected the child. But after she finally became deeply attached, she had to let the child go in such a way. The one who suffered the most was Jane, both physically and mentally.

In a manor, Ainslee was complaining non-stop. "Jovan, I don't like that fountain. That sculpture is ugly."

"Get me a chef. I want to eat good food. And the new coffee beans you bought are too acidic."

"The house you bought isn't good. It doesn't even have a private estate."

"Jovan, where's my lab? Did you bring me here to mistreat me?"

A month ago, Jovan bought a new house in Paykston. It was a four-story mansion with three floors below ground. It wasn't very large, but it was more than enough for a dozen people to live in.

Jane and Anthony never liked having servants around the house. In their previous villa, only Billy, the cook, and two regular maids lived there. Other bodyguards or servants were housed in nearby smaller villas. Jovan had adopted the same model now.

But Ainslee was clearly very dissatisfied.

From the moment they arrived at the new house, Ainslee had been complaining all the time.

Jane had just undergone surgery and was in a wheelchair the whole way. She waved Jovan over and whispered in his ear, "Jovan, does he always talk this much? Is he always like this?"

"He is like this in private." Jovan smiled helplessly, as if he was used to Ainslee's behavior.

I got it. In front of most people, Ainslee was still the elegant and noble head of the Richardson family, but his true nature was that of a chatterbox!

"This is the first time I've met someone pickier than me." Jane gave Ainslee a thumbs up.

Some people arrived at the villa after lunch, and by evening, Ainslee had replaced everything from the carpets to the furniture.

"Mr. Richardson, are you planning to live here permanently?" Jane really wanted to remind Ainslee, regardless of his friendship and position with Jovan, that this house was her home, not his!

"Of course not," Ainslee said, hands on his hips, turning in a circle. His soft hair fluttered in the air. He stretched his long, fair neck and told to Jovan, who was directing the bodyguards not far away, "Jovan, I want to change houses, one with mountains."

Jane thought she really had nothing to say to Ainslee.

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
