Chapter 334 Stealing Her Marriage
"It’s not Mrs. Windsor, it’s Oliver's fiancée," Susan corrected Hailey.
Since it was true that Hailey, not Natalie, was the one originally engaged to Oliver, Susan did not think she was framing Natalie.
"Fine." Hailey could not bother to argue with someone as hypocritical as Susan. After a moment, she asked, “Can you get me a few sets of new clothes? I like LV. Also, I’d like some delicious food. It should be from a restaurant with Michelin stars.”
Susan narrowed her eyes and said unhappily and arrogantly, “Do you think you’re out on a holiday? Don’t forget, you’re a murderer!”
“But we share the same objective, don’t we?” Hailey said with a faint smile, “You want to pull Natalie down, and I have no desire to see Natalie happy either. However, if things don’t go well for me, I might act impulsively and turn against you.”
"You... Fine, fine! I’ll get those things for you,” Susan conceded, her face flushing with anger.
Hailey was fearless now that she had accepted that there was no way out for her. Since she was already at the end of her rope, what was there left to fear? The most important thing now was to live as well as she could when she could.
…
The journey to Paris was both efficient and smooth.
Natalie's schedule was filled to the brim, constantly moving from one brand's audition to another's. She was inundated with activities, scarcely having a moment to rest.
Emily also made meticulous preparations. While Natalie's drawback was her lack of extensive qualifications, her advantage lay in her exceptional natural talent. Emily compiled a series of Natalie's past runway shows, photoshoots, and accomplishments as the top student into a compelling video, serving as a unique resume for the judges.
After participating in numerous auditions, apart from a handful of brands that declined to work with Natalie due to her international anonymity, the rest welcomed her with open arms.
Natalie, previously unknown on the international stage, secured contracts for over twenty major shows at Paris Fashion Week, including three as the finale model and five as the opening model. This remarkable achievement swiftly became known back home, sparking widespread excitement.
Her rise to fame was even faster than that of Joseph!
…
Meanwhile, in an apartment in Paykston, Susan watched with clenched teeth as the media lavished Natalie with praise and industry insiders admired her professional skills.
She turned to Hailey, her gaze darkening as she said, "The time has come."
Hailey met Susan's eyes with a smile. "I used to be a model like her, and I’m not even that upset. Why are you so upset?”
‘Why do you think I’m upset?’
Susan sneered, “Haven’t you seen what people are saying online? They’re saying Natalie is extraordinarily talented, possibly even surpassing Joseph! Ha! If it weren’t for Oliver, she wouldn’t even be able to work backstage for those brands, let alone model for them! I simply can’t stand the thought of her abusing Oliver’s power like that!”
Susan completely forgot that Oliver had also used his influence to help her in her career. At that time, she accepted it without any qualms or objections.
Susan looked at Hailey and added, “Natalie used to be far inferior to you. But look at you now, and look at her. I don’t believe that you’re jealous at all!”
"What’s the use of jealousy?" Hailey replied lightly. In the past, she would have undoubtedly been jealous. However, months of dark and wasted prison life made her unable to feel any jealousy at all. What was there to be jealous of?
Natalie's talent was indeed extraordinary. Hailey used to envy Natalie for her exquisite and graceful figure, as well as her unique and noble temperament, all of which were innate qualities. Seeing Susan now was like looking at her past self, both pitiful and ridiculous. Now, she looked at Susan as though she was looking at a clown.
"Alright, don’t talk so much nonsense. Let’s just carry out our plan.”
In Susan’s mind, she was not jealous of Natalie and it was not that she could not stand to see Natalie happy. She just wanted Oliver to see Natalie’s true colors.
…
Not long after, a huge story spread among the upper-class circle in Paykston before it gradually became known to everyone.
…
After a series of auditions and social events, Natalie and the others finally arrived at the airport, preparing to return home.
Just as they arrived at the waiting lounge, Emily, who was reading domestic news on her phone, suddenly had a drastic change in her facial expression. She looked at Natalie in a way that was difficult for Natalie to decipher.
"Emily, w-what's wrong?" Natalie asked when she saw the shock and worry in Emily’s eyes.
"See for yourself."
It was an audio clip, containing a conversation between Hailey and another person.
In the clip, Hailey said, “Natalie married Oliver to climb up the social ladder. Everything was premeditated.”
“There was an engagement between the Watson family and the Windsor family. To be precise, I was engaged to Oliver, but in the end, Natalie ended up marrying him. I didn’t expect Natalie to be this kind of woman. She actually schemed against me and Adrian!”
“Due to her schemes, I became pregnant with Adrian’s child. We had no choice. The Watson family could only let Natalie marry Oliver in my place while I could only be with Adrian. Unfortunately, when I found out that the pregnancy was fake, Natalie had already become Mrs. Windsor. Even if Natalie didn’t tamper with the pregnancy report, how could someone like me, who had already had relations with Adrian, marry Oliver?”
“Think about it. If I had a choice, how could I possibly choose Adrian? Everyone in our circle knows that Adrian has a rotten personality behind that gentlemanly facade. If it weren’t for Natalie’s ruthless scheme, how could I give up on Oliver and marry that scumbag, Adrian? This only happened because Natalie stole my marriage!”
Nearing the end, Hailey even choked up and cried, as if she had suffered a great grievance.
Natalie's face turned ashen, and her strength seemed to drain out of her body, causing her phone to slip out of her hand and fall to the ground with a loud thud.
‘She was the one who forced me to marry in her place, but now, it turned into me stealing her marriage. Just like before, she’s really good at distorting the truth!’
With the entire Harrington family gone, no matter how absurd Hailey’s words were, it would be difficult for people to refute them.
"Natalie, you..." Lilian took a step back in disbelief as she read the news on her phone.
"You..." Natalie's voice trembled, this news was too sudden.
When was this recorded? Was Hailey not in prison? Was this recorded before she went to prison?
Natalie took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. She looked at Emily, Lilian, and Sophia as she asked, "Do you believe Hailey or... do you believe me?"
