Chapter 1008 Move!

Jane only found it ironic, thinking to herself, 'Anthony still cares so much about Aurora and the child.'

The family doctor rushed in to perform emergency procedures on Aurora. In their haste, they pushed Jane aside, who was standing at the door.

One of them stepped on the broken jade.

Jane blinked numbly at the scene.

Jane instinctively looked at Anthony and noticed that he hadn't spared her a single glance the entire time. He was  anxious to protect Aurora, afraid that something might happen to her and the baby.

The ambulance and Ann, who had rushed back upon hearing the news, arrived at the Clark family villa one after the other.

Aurora was the first to be carried onto the ambulance.

Jane picked up the pieces of jade from the ground one by one. Before she could stand up, a slap hit her face.

"Jane Watkins, how can you be so vicious! Do you have to kill the descendants of the Clark family to be satisfied?" Ann's face was red with anger and she continued, "Jane Watkins, I'm telling you that if anything happens to Aurora and my grandson, I'll make you pay with your life!"

The taste of blood spread through Jane's mouth. It took her a while to recover from the numbness in her cheek.

"It wasn't me!" Jane said, enunciating each word.

"If it wasn't you, then who else could it be? Aurora herself?" Ann's eyes were filled with contempt as she looked at Jane.

'It was Aurora herself who fell,'Jane thought.

Jane clutched the broken jade in her hand, no willing to explain anything further, because it was pointless.

There were no cameras, and Aurora was the victim. Everyone would believe that fragile victim, Aurora.

Even Anthony was protecting Aurora. No one would believe Jane.

So, Jane thought it was better not to explain.

"Where are you going? You think you can escape after hurting Aurora?"

Jane was about to leave with the jade bracelet. She wanted to leave this place forever, but Ann rudely grabbed her.

Ann ordered the servants to stop Jane. "Jane Watkins, your father indirectly caused my daughter's death years ago, and now you've harmed my grandson. Your father ran away, but you think you can escape? Come with me to the hospital! Apologize to Aurora!"

"I said that it wasn't me!" Jane shook off Ann's hand, her eyes full of disgust.

Ann asked the nearby servants, "What did you all see? Wasn't it her who pushed Aurora?"

The servants looked at each other.

Jane stared at them intently.

One of them nodded.

Then the others followed suit. "We heard Ms. Dewar and Ms. Watkins arguing. When we came up, we saw Ms. Watkins push Ms. Dewar."

Jane thought her heart had already turned cold and numb, but now it felt even colder and more painful.

"You saw it with your own eyes?" Jane looked at the servant who spoke.

The servant shivered in fear.

When the servant entered, Aurora was already lying on the ground in pain.

How could she have seen Jane push Aurora? But she had already accused Jane. If she retracted her statement now, she would offend both Jane and Aurora, as well as Ann. Besides, Aurora was the future mistress of the house.

"Yes, I saw it with my own eyes!" The servant insisted, knowing that no one else had seen what happened.

Besides, if it wasn't Jane who pushed her, could it have been Aurora herself who accidentally fell?

If Aurora had indeed fallen accidentally, then all the servants taking care of her would be held accountable.

"Take her away! Bring her to the hospital!" Ann roared, "Jane Watkins, look at the blood on the floor! You indeed hurt a pregnant woman and an unborn child. Let's see if you can sleep peacefully for the rest of your life!"

"Don't touch me!" Jane snapped at the two servants approaching her, her eyes filled with disdain.

Jane laughed indifferently, staring at the bloodstains on the ground, and said to Ann, "Mrs. Clark, do you think someone like me, who can shove a pregnant woman, would be afraid of having nightmares?"

"How vicious you are! You and your damned father and brother are all the same!"

"Don't mention my brother! None of you have the right to mention him!"

Although there were the grudges of the previous generation, Jovan had done nothing wrong.

The red light of the operating room was on.

The Dewar family had already arrived and were waiting outside the operating room. Ann ran over to check on the situation.

Anthony sat on a chair outside the operating room, staring into at the red light, afraid of missing anything. The bloodstains on his shirt hadn't dried yet, the glaring red blotches standing out against the white fabric.

This shirt was the one Jane had picked out for Anthony when they disembarked from the cruise. Because she had accidentally stained his sleeve with coffee. So Anthony had ordered her to buy him another one on the cruise.

It was a shirt worth thousands of dollars. Anthony wore it for just one day, and now it was stained while holding another woman who had framed Jane, Aurora.

Jane felt a wave of sadness and absurdity instantly.

The light of the operating room went out.

The Dewar and Clark families quickly surrounded the doctor who came out.

The doctor removed his mask and smiled reassuringly, "Congratulations, mother and child are safe! It's a 5.51-pound boy. It was a close call, but the baby is premature and weak, so he'll need to stay in an incubator for a while. The mother will also need to stay in the hospital for observation, but there's no life-threatening danger."

'Mother and child are safe,'Jane thought.

Jane unconsciously let out a sigh of relief, then felt ridiculous.

She had been framed, yet she was still worried about whether Aurora and the baby would be safe.

Everyone surrounded the doctor. Jane took one last look at Anthony, who was talking to the doctor, clearly very concerned about his fiancée and son.

Then Jane left without any hesitation.

As she walked downstairs, Jane contacted the number Jovan had given her and informed him of her flight number.

"Jane!" Someone called her from behind.

It was a very unfamiliar male voice, full of youthful energy, with a pure and distinctive tone.

Jane turned to see a seventeen or eighteen-year-old boy, Wade, wearing a white hoodie. His messy hair covered his forehead, revealing a pair of clear, starry eyes.

He was very handsome, clean, and full of vitality.

Wade had probably run to catch up with her because he was still panting.

Seeing Jane's confusion, Wade introduced himself, "My name is Wade Dewar. Do you remember me? What happened to your face?"

Jane's face was swollen and red from Ann's slap, looking quite frightening.

Jane ignored the injury on her face and looked at Wade in front of her.

She seemed to have seen him outside the operating room earlier and sarcastically guessed, "Aurora Dewar's brother?"

Jane remembered that the Dewar family had two children, Aurora being the older one and Wade the younger.

Wade showed a hint of disappointment that Jane really didn't remember him.

Wade had attended Jane's personal concert, though that was three years ago.

"Jane, where are you going?" Wade walked towards Jane.

"None of your business. Move!" Jane coldly looked at Wade blocking her way.

"I have nothing to do with Aurora's accident. If you want to cause trouble, call the police first."

Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
