Chapter 212 Don't be angry

“Hmm?”

Hailey said, “Oliver isn’t disfigured at all. He’s not as helpless as you believe him to be.”

If a mirror were present, Hailey's reflection would reveal a face contorted in a nearly maniacal expression. She was consumed by a desire for vengeance, determined to exact retribution for the humiliation Natalie and Oliver had caused her. She imagined stripping Oliver of everything, leaving both him and Natalie with nothing.

“Oliver, these are the consequences for humiliating me!”

Emily's prowess in business was undeniable. She promptly presented Natalie with two proposals for her future endeavors. The first suggestion entailed participating in several mid-tier fashion shows to enhance her reputation and competitive edge, with the aim of progressing to more prestigious events. The second option was to attend a supermodel training camp to refine her skills.

Natalie opted for the training camp, recognizing that although it presented a slower route to fame, honing her professional skills was paramount.

Emily was delighted with Natalie's decision, having preferred it herself. Only after Natalie had made her choice did Emily reveal that the camp's trainers were world-renowned show directors and modeling instructors. This training was a coveted opportunity for models globally.

Upon hearing the news, Oliver asked, "For how long?"

"One month," Natalie answered.

"How long?" Oliver repeated, turning toward her with an intense look.

Under his scrutiny, Natalie felt inexplicably uneasy. “I said one month. Didn’t you hear it?”

“You planned to be away for a month and only informed me after everything has been arranged,” Oliver remarked as he settled onto the sofa. His expression seemed to say, ‘No, you can’t go. Stay with me’.

Natalie pursed her lips. The training camp was a rare chance. Given the competition among HHY's models, it was remarkable that Emily had secured a spot for her. She was eager not to miss this exceptional chance for growth.

"Don’t be angry. I just spoke about this matter with Emily not long ago,” Natalie said, attempting to pacify him.

“I don’t want to talk,” Oliver said icily before he went upstairs."

Natalie sighed. Nonetheless, she was puzzled by his reaction. He did not seem as upset as he was when she saw him reprimanding his employee.

That evening, Natalie prepared a special dinner for Oliver to appease him. She prepared an upgraded version of Ravioli. Unbeknownst to her, this gesture would have unintended consequences!

Thinking about the one-month-long training, she felt it was not too much for her to try to coax Oliver.

In the end, not long after dinner, Oliver had his way with her.

Although Oliver was upset, he did not object to Natalie leaving. His silence was a sign of acquiescence. His indulgence toward her grew, and he found it increasingly unbearable to see her unhappy.

Before leaving for the training camp, Natalie packed her belongings. Then, she called Jane about it, planning to meet before she had to leave.

“I have plans for tomorrow,” Jane thought about it for a moment before she said, “But you can join me…”

"What plans?" Natalie asked.

"A blind date," Jane revealed.

She wants me to join her on her blind date?’

Natalie was speechless, thinking that Jane must be joking. However, in the end, she agreed.

The men Jane met were from ordinary middle-class backgrounds, not their usual social circle.

Natalie was dumbfounded when she met those men.

The first, a 27-year-old successful man, mentioned his mother in every other sentence. His sentences usually started with, ‘My mom said’, ‘My mom doesn’t like’, and ‘My mom likes’.

Natalie thought that if she did not know better, she would have thought he was a three-year-old child.

The second was a 28-year-old man who owned his own business. His conditions were not bad, but the first thing he said was, “Jane, you’re beautiful. However, after marriage, I hope you won’t use makeup. Also, no pants and skirts above the knees. You also can’t interact with friends of the opposite sex. In fact, it’s best if you don’t socialize often. I’d prefer it if you focus on me and our future children.”

And the third one was relatively normal and seemed decent. He asked Jane where she wanted to go, and she casually suggested the amusement park.

He agreed with a smile, and when they were at the amusement park, he trailed behind Jane and Natalie, maintaining a respectful distance between them.

"Jane, you don’t like him, right?" Natalie could sense Jane's indifference. She could see that Jane was reluctant to go to the amusement park despite being the one to suggest it.

“What can I do about it? I’ll just give it a try…”

After all, it was not easy to find a decent man. After someone like Anthony, she knew it would be difficult to find someone who could compare to him. With her intense emotions for Anthony, could other men attract her attention?

Unfortunately, Anthony did not love her, and they could not be together.

Upon entering the amusement park, Natalie found an excuse to step aside, allowing the two some privacy. Unexpectedly, after some time, she ran into the man from the blind date, who was currently storming out of the amusement park.

“Excuse me. Where’s Jane?” Natalie asked.

“Natalie, your friend already has a boyfriend, so why did she agree to go on a blind date? Does she plan to trick men into marrying her?”

Natalie was taken aback. "Boyfriend? No, that’s impossible!"

“Earlier, a fierce-looking guy warned me to stay away from Jane. He claimed that Jane is his boss’ girlfriend!”

‘Fierce-looking guy?’

Jane had made many enemies over the years. However, it was not due to a problem with her character, but because she was too outstanding. She attracted many men’s attention, and as a result, many women were jealous of her and hated her. As such, there were many who liked stirring up trouble for her.

Natalie called Jane while searching the amusement park, but to no avail. The park staff's announcement of a missing person also yielded no results.

In the end, she called Oliver, asking for his help. Her voice was tinged with anxiety as she said, "Oliver, Jane is missing. Can you help me find her?”

As for the man from the blind date, he was indifferent. In fact, he was only interested in her appearance, believing that she would boost his image. He found it a little disappointing that she agreed to the blind date despite having no interest in him.

After parting ways with the man, Jane went to the restroom. The public restroom was rather crowded, so she found another one.

She stared at her reflection expressionlessly. The woman in the mirror had lifeless eyes, resembling a soulless doll. It did not feel right to force herself to accept another man; she felt uncomfortable, like something was very wrong.

Jane closed her eyes and laughed derisively. Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching from behind. The sound was heavy and authoritative, not like high heels or leather shoes. More like… military boots.
