Chapter 678 Build an Amusement Park

Fortunately, the cashier was a woman in her fifties who didn't recognize Natalie and Oliver. She just thought this couple was exceptionally good-looking and gave them a few extra glances.

As the pair approached the exit, the cashier's attention sharpened, realizing they were both dressed in matching patterns. Their white shirts had similar designs on the back, only the pattern on the woman's shirt was slightly smaller. What a cute and classic couple’s attire!

Intrigued, the woman secretly snapped a photo with her phone and texted it to her daughter, providing her daily nudge toward marriage.

Cashier: [Look at this! Such a sweet couple. You, still a singleton, don’t even get to wear matching outfits!]

Her daughter responded.

Cashier’s daughter: [?]

Realizing her message might have been a bit harsh, the cashier added quickly.

Cashier: [You could still wear matching outfits. Like men's clothes on odd days, women's on even days.]

Not receiving a witty comeback from her daughter, the cashier smiled with satisfaction. Surely her daughter was struck by the photo, now reflecting on why she was content consuming whatever it was online instead of finding a boyfriend.

On the other side of her cell phone, Noah Kensington's daughter was stimulated, but not in the way one might expect. It was not a burgeoning romance of her own, but rather, it seemed she had stumbled across beloved fictional characters dating in real life!

She quickly sent the photo to her close friend, known among their circle as "One Bowl of Noodles," who shared her passion for fandom 'shipping, asking if the featured couple resembled Natalie and Oliver.

Noah, for her part, had never anticipated seeing such a photo in her lifetime.

She had encountered Natalie and Oliver in the flesh at that infernal summer camp where she had covertly observed them every day, familiarizing herself with their silhouettes and the aura they both exuded.

This had to be Natalie and Oliver! It wasn’t hard to recognize them. Few women boasted Natalie’s height and presence, and even fewer men matched Oliver in stature, not to mention the distinctive "Autumn Chill, King’s Demise" aura that one could sense even from Oliver's silhouette.

What was even rarer was finding a duo, meeting those exact descriptions, and walking together hand in hand!

And there it was, they were holding hands!

The reality of her 'ship' had come to life, and even doled out sweetness. Such blisteringly sweet sugar! At that moment, Noah Kensington felt an intense gratification suffusing her life.

As Ethan emerged from his office, he noticed his wife giggling at her phone, a sight he had long since grown accustomed to. Casually, he asked, “What are you laughing about? You look ridiculous.”

“You're the ridiculous one!” retorted Noah Kensington, too immersed in her sugary high to engage in Ethan's teasing. She was even eager to share her joy, “Look at this photo. Doesn’t this couple look like Mr. Windsor and Natalie?”

Ethan, as a man, had a different perspective and approach than Noah. The first thing he noticed was the height difference between the couple in the photo. The woman, not wearing high heels, came just up to the man's shoulder, a match with the height difference between Natalie and Oliver.

Then he took note of the man's wristwatch in the photo. If he wasn't mistaken, it appeared to be a limited edition piece from the ‘D’ brand that he had coveted but had been unable to acquire. Ironically, the only person he knew who owned that certain model was Oliver.

“Where did you get this photo? Don’t go spreading it around; they're probably in a sensitive phase right now,” Ethan cautioned his wife.

Noah waved off the concern, “I know, I know, I won’t tell anyone!”

But then, she quickly shared it with a handful of her closest “fan-friends”.

She wasn't being indiscreet, she reasoned; these were her trusted friends who were loyal fans just like her! After all, joy was something to be shared!

Meanwhile, Oliver frayed his brows ever so slightly in distaste as he glanced at the swarm of people around him, finding the crowd rather oppressive.

Oliver never liked crowded and busy places, except for work parties or gatherings with friends, but right now, he found himself surrounded by a sea of people. Some of them seemed to walk as if they didn’t have eyes, bumping into others and then, almost as an afterthought, muttering an insincere “sorry.” Couldn’t they just watch where they were going?

“It’s probably because tomorrow is Saturday, and the weather today is great,” Natalie commented, pointing to the stars in the evening sky. A gentle breeze blew, a welcome break from the summer heat.

After all, the atmosphere is part of the fun at an amusement park, isn’t it? Not too many people, but not too deserted either.

Oliver glanced at Natalie. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she looked around, clearly delighted and interested in everything here. His irritation and reluctance finally began to subside.

Natalie held Oliver's left hand while navigating the park's layout on her cell phone with the right, taking small steps as she consulted Oliver, "We've come to a fork in the road; should we go left, or right?"

"Either way," Oliver said without much interest, his mind preoccupied with deciding which of his many properties would be suitable for building Natalie her private amusement park, so she wouldn't have to deal with crowds in the future.

"There's no 'either way' choice," Natalie insisted. "To the left, there's a roller coaster, and to the right, there's a Caribbean Pirates show... Oh, it looks like there are more attractions on the left, while the right has more shows and photo opportunities."

"Right," Oliver decided since the phrase "the right has shows…" had just flitted through his mind.

Or perhaps he should build a private theater? Start a theater troupe?

This idea only strengthened and became more resolute after Oliver found himself sitting on wooden floor steps inside a little theater at the park. Thus, it was settled; he would build it!

In the past, Oliver had attended plays, operas, and dance performances. Some in large, national, and international theaters with spacious and quiet seating, which was nothing like now, where everyone was sitting side by side on the wooden floor, not even a designated seat in sight!
Married to an Ugly Husband? No!
