Chapter 873 It's Alive!

Now there was someone making Mr. Windsor care about more than his own life, even becoming his weak spot. It's hard to say whether that was a good thing or a bad thing.

John, who rushed over, was not the usual family doctor at Rosewood Estate but Natalie's obstetrician.

After carefully examining Natalie's condition, John said, "Natalie, it's still early, just the beginning of contractions, not dilated yet. Walk around a bit to promote hormone secretion."

"Okay."

With Oliver's support, Natalie walked around the living room.

Marjorie couldn't sit still, keeping an eye on the preparations for the servants, the hospital supplies, Natalie's needs, the baby's needs. She was disinfecting the postpartum room, nursery, and even the dedicated washer and wardrobe for the bags.

"Is it painful?" Oliver said as he held Natalie's hand with one hand and her waist with the other.

Just as a contraction hit, Natalie squeezed Oliver's hand hard.

"Does it hurt?" Oliver asked with concern.

Oliver didn't feel the pain in his hand, he just thought she would feel pain.

"A little bit." Natalie spoke after recovering from the pain of the previous contraction with a bit pale.

Oliver called John over, frowning, "How long will this pain last?"

Looking like he was about to hold someone accountable.

"Oliver, childbirth is unpredictable. Some women give birth in a few hours, while others take a day. I can't say for sure." John replied cautiously.

Oliver's face darkened instantly.

"Hey!" Natalie tapped Oliver to comfort him.

John: "Natalie is right!"

The maternity hospital was informed that Natalie had gone into labor early, so they were on high alert. The best attending physician, John, was already prepared at the hospital.

Natalie dilated quickly, and she was in the delivery room shortly after arriving at the hospital.

"Oliver, you can't..." A nurse stopped Oliver, originally indicating he couldn't enter.

Seeing his sour face, she changed her tone. "If you want to be present for the birth, you can complete the formalities later, but you need to change and disinfect first."

"I don't want him to enter!” Natalie lay on the bed while being wheeled into the operating room. After hearing a voice behind her, she quickly shouted to Oliver.

The intense contractions made her short of breath. With that shout, she almost ran out of breath, turning pale from the pain.

Oliver had already arranged with the blocking nurse and leaped in front of Natalie.

Oliver tightly held Natalie's hand, "I'm here with you, Honey, don't be afraid."

On the way there, Natalie was in severe pain and whispered that she was scared. She didn't expect Oliver to hear her murmuring.

"Don't come in!" Natalie, sweating profusely from the pain, shook her head and reached out to push him away.

"Why?" Oliver was momentarily puzzled, looking somewhat hurt.

"If you come in, it will...," another contraction hit, "affect John."

Beside him, John almost nodded vigorously.

Yes, once Oliver entered, it will definitely affect our normal operation!

John knew that he was not able to persuade Oliver, and without courage but one word from Natalie outweighed ten from others.

Reluctantly, Oliver stayed outside the operating room with dark and heavy face.

"Natalie, you're amazing!" After entering the sterilized operating room, the assisting nurse couldn't help but praise sincerely.

The other doctors nodded in agreement.

Natalie laughed and cried, weakly saying, "Actually, I don't want Oliver to see me in this state."

‘Giving birth, a physical ordeal, sweating profusely, screaming in pain, it's better not to let Oliver see.’ She pondered.

"Natalie, you're so lovely!" The young nurse was also a fan of Natalie, "You look great, no matter what!"

Marjorie, accompanied by Mr. Liam, arrived at the hospital ten minutes late. Seeing Oliver's expression, her face changed instantly, "Where's Natalie?"

Oliver gestured with his chin towards the direction of the operating room, not saying a word.

"Marjorie, don't worry, Natalie is doing well. She just went in not long ago. Wait for good news!" The accompanying hospital director saw Marjorie seemed to have misunderstood and hurriedly explained.

Marjorie breathed a sigh of relief and couldn't help but pat Oliver's shoulder. "Oliver, with that stern face, I thought something went wrong. Be careful not to scare your son later!"

Full of worry for Natalie, Oliver didn't want to respond at first, but upon hearing that, he decided to correct her. "It's a daughter."

Marjorie glanced at him. "You already know it's a daughter?"

Oliver replied, "I know, do you not prefer daughters?"

Marjorie responded, "Don't talk nonsense, I'll report you to Natalie for bullying me!"

“Hmph, wait until Natalie gives birth to a son and makes you cry!” She muttered.

Marjorie originally felt it didn't matter whether it was a granddaughter or grandson. She herself was a woman. If she hadn't married early, maybe her family would have been under her control. And she almost got mad when she gave birth to a son back then.

‘Is a son really better than a daughter?’

‘Nonsense!’

‘Moreover, the sex of the child is determined by men, not women.’

‘-Men have the Y chromosome that determines male gender.’ Marjorie pondered.

Always thoughtful, Mr. Liam thought it was a bit late, but he still sent a text to Lucas—if he was asleep, he would naturally come to the hospital when he woke up, and if he wasn't, he would see the message soon.

Mr. Liam underestimated Lucas's schedule. It was midnight, the time when nightlife was just beginning, even if he wasn't out partying, it was suitable for catching up on work or playing games.

Lucas quickly called, asking Mr. Liam which hospital he was at.

The red light in the operating room went out.

John, dressed in surgical attire, walked out of the operating room.

‘He's out so soon?’ He contemplated.

Everyone outside the operating room was stunned.

"John, how's Natalie and the baby?" Marjorie hurriedly approached, but before she could finish her sentence, a figure brushed past her and headed straight into the operating room.

"Oliver, you can't come in!" Attending physician John quickly had someone stop Oliver.

A moment of confusion.

Jamie was quick to act, blocking Oliver at the second door.

Oliver, with a dark face, asked the attending physician John, "Where's Natalie?"

Everyone present felt that the complete version of Oliver's sentence was: “If Natalie is in danger, you're finished!”

"Oliver, I'm here to bring you good news!" Attending physician John said, blaming Oliver and Marjorie for being too impatient and not giving him a chance to speak. He had been out for a few minutes and still hadn't delivered the usual opening remarks!

"Oliver, Marjorie, Natalie is safe and the baby boy is also safe, six pounds three ounces. They'll be out with Natalie shortly." Attending physician John said earnestly, "Oliver, you're not disinfected, so you can't enter the delivery room."
