Chapter 140 Divorce

After delivering the meal, Natalie met Jane at an exclusive dessert shop in the commercial district.

"Jane, did you injure your lips?" Natalie asked, noticing the cut on Jane's lips.

Jane touched her lips, which were cut when Anthony kissed her as she shrugged and prevaricated, saying, “My lips must have been cracked from dryness…”

"Oh."

"How do you feel? I heard you fell into the sea?" Jane asked worriedly. She had been shocked when she heard the news.

"I drank a few mouthfuls of water, that’s all."

"I heard Oliver went down to save you. At least he has a little conscience," Jane remarked.

‘In fact, Roger was the one who saved me.’

Thinking of this, Natalie looked at her phone. She thought about his message and had his number now. After a beat, seeing that Jane was in good spirits, she brought up the reason for their meeting today. It was none other than to discuss Adrian and Hailey’s engagement party.

Despite Jane no longer being among the elite, her network was still quite wide, so she knew a thing or two.

Hailey had invited her entire social circle to flaunt her engagement, creating a buzz online. However, the engagement party turned disastrous, and that video only served to humiliate her further.

The arrogant and prideful Hailey was now thoroughly embarrassed and humiliated.

Everyone initially thought the Harrington family was very fond of Hailey. Unexpectedly, her future mother-in-law showed that video to everyone. It did not matter to them if Victoria really intended to show that video. All that mattered to them was the video was presented under Victoria’s name.

Most importantly, Adrian’s words and actions showed that he did not like Hailey very much.

"The entire social circle is waiting to see their joke. Surprisingly, both families are maintaining the engagement. Adrian shamelessly claimed that the person in the video was just a lookalike hired to frame him. Hailey also expressed her trust in Adrian,” Jane said mockingly.

Natalie, stirring her latte, had already anticipated such an outcome. "The Watson family managed to secure a connection with the Harringtons, and they will cling to it. Hailey, ambitious as she is, sees no better alternative to Adrian. Breaking off the engagement would mean losing publicity and the Harringtons' support."

Jane marveled, “They’re really shameless!”

Natalie knew her half-sister very well. The latter was opportunistic and selfish.

"When she learns the truth about Oliver, she’ll die of regret,” Jane said with a smirk.

At the mention of this, Natalie thought about her future with Oliver. Despite their current estrangement, she desired clarity rather than conflict.

Sensing Natalie's reluctance to discuss Oliver, Jane tactfully shifted the conversation. As best friends, it was only natural for her to support Natalie.

At this time, Natalie recalled something important and said, "By the way, I discovered that Flora's ex-boyfriend was Arthur, Oliver's younger brother!"

"Arthur Windsor?!" Jane was visibly shocked, having not anticipated such a connection to the famous Windsor family.

"There must be more to the story back then, especially since Arthur has genuine feelings for Flora," Natalie added.

Oliver had fully recovered by the fourth day of his hospitalization.

In the four days he stayed in the hospital, he had not seen Natalie at all.

The young nurse timidly told Rosy that the patient in the VIP room, despite being fully recovered, refused to be discharged and was being difficult.

Rosy speculated on Oliver's mood before she reached out to Natalie, suggesting it was time for him to be discharged.

"Mrs. Windsor, your husband should be discharged."

Natalie was at Rosewood Estate, looking at the message from the production team of Top Avenue. Filming was scheduled to start the day after tomorrow at a luxurious resort in Paykston.

"Charles will go to the hospital today. He should be able to handle the discharge procedures."

Rosy, exasperated, looked at the ward and said helplessly, "Your husband is stubbornly occupying the hospital bed as though he’s rooted there! Mrs. Windsor, he’s wasting hospital resources! Not only that, but do you know what a waste it is for someone like me to tend to someone who’s feigning illness? Are both of you quarreling? Do you not want to be with him anymore? ”

Natalie sighed. How could she simply decide not to be with him when they were married? At the same time, she was stunned. It seemed like at some point, she had already given up on the idea of divorcing Oliver.

In the end, after listening to Rosy, Natalie knew she could not allow Oliver to continue wasting hospital resources.

She had a vague sense that Oliver had been unhappy over the past few days. According to Jamie and Charles, Oliver was staying in the hospital because he wanted her to personally come and pick him up.

After that, Natalie changed into a long autumn dress and left Rosewood Estate.

Charles stood outside the door and when he saw Natalie, he acted as though he had seen his savior. He greeted her and quickly led her to the ward.

Inside the VIP room, Oliver sat on the sofa, reviewing documents. He was vigorously scribbling with his pen, discarding various unsatisfactory plans. If the project manager were present, he would likely have thrown the documents in his face.

His back was turned to the door, but upon hearing it open, he said without turning around, "What sort of rubbish did they send me? Charles, tell them to redo it!"

Seeing that there was no response, Oliver frowned and turned to look.

Natalie held a small package in her hand and said, "Oliver, it’s time for you to leave the hospital."

Natalie felt like he was a sulking child needing to be coaxed at this moment.

Meanwhile, Charles tactfully closed the door after Natalie entered the room.

"Oliver, if you’re not going to leave, then I’m going to leave…”

Oliver raised his head, clearly irritated. "Do you think I’m a child?"

Clearly, she was treating him like a child.

Natalie pursed her lips and muttered under her breath, "Lucas was very well-behaved when he was young. He wasn't as obstinate as you."

"If you’re so unwilling, then leave!”

Oliver could tell she genuinely did not want to be here. Despite her gentle demeanor, she was indifferent inside.

‘You’re absolutely right! I’m really unwilling! I didn’t come voluntarily!’

Natalie had a good temper, but she was stubborn with inherent pride. Since he told her to leave, she would leave.

Natalie picked up the documents on the floor and placed them neatly on the coffee table before turning around and leaving.
