Chapter 938 Waiting for You

Susan's case of being taken to court again quickly became known nationwide.

People even joked that it was no surprising to hear Susan committing another crime.

The Hastings family didn't help Susan hire a good lawyer. Although James felt guilty towards Susan because of Isabella and wanted to protect her, he knew that his influence in the Hastings family was not as strong as Caleb's or Samuel's.

James had only money.

Samuel didn’t want to help Susan, and Caleb had completely gave up on her after Leonard canceled the engagement with her.

Susan was sentenced to thirty-eight years in prison.

Many people argued that a thirty-eight-year prison sentence was too lenient for Susan. Despite that she failed this time, she had made multiple attempts. The only reason she failed was because Natalie and Oliver were able to defend themselves. Susan's intentions and methods were exceptionally malicious.

However, some people knew that the surface sentence of thir
ty-eight years didn't necessarily mean Susan would walk out of prison alive.

Even if she did, thirty-eight years later, she would be nearly sixty years old. With no family, power, or money, how would she survive?

A month later.

Susan's case was gradually forgotten by the public.

Only when people saw Natalie appear again at the Spring Fashion Week did they think of Susan.

Susan, who had once tried to take everything from Natalie, could now only look up at Natalie standing on top. Not just Susan, but also people like Hailey. Those who envied Natalie and tried to bring her down all became names from her past.

"Natalie, you are amazing!" Lilian handed Natalie a large bouquet of black roses, both exotic and romantic, without considering whether the occasion or her status was suitable for giving roses.

Lilian only cared about looks.

Natalie understood that Lilian just wanted to give her the most beautiful things.

"Hey, Natalie, do you have a sister?" inquired a fellow model with curiosity. She had only heard about this top model having a brother named Lucas, who was said to be very handsome.

"No," Lilian's big eyes sparkled with a smile. "I'm her brother's wife!" The model raised an eyebrow, clearly delighted to learn this piece of gossip.

Natalie glanced at Lilian with a blend of amusement and affection.

Lilian smiled. Even though they weren't officially married yet, it was certain that they would be, so she started addressing Natalie as "sister" rather than by her name.

"Natalie, someone is looking for you!" a voice called out. "It’s your husband, and he’s carrying an incredibly adorable baby!”

Oliver had appeared in public only a handful of times.

Lilian overheard this and quickly said, "Sis, I'll leave you two alone!" She didn't want to disturb Oliver and Natalie, as Oliver could potentially impede her path to happiness with Lucas. However, now someone else was interrupting Oliver and Natalie, Nathan!

"Mommy!"

From afar, Natalie spotted Oliver, tall and handsome, standing at the door with a teething Nathan in one arm. Nathan, catching sight of his mother, eagerly attempted to bounce in his father's arms, mumbling "Mommy" incoherently.

The sight of the tall Oliver and the adorable Nathan, both incredibly good-looking and strikingly similar, was quite eye-catching.

Oliver had come to pick Natalie up after almost every show. Even though he kept a low profile, his appearance made it impossible for people in the industry not to notice that Natalie had a very loving and incredibly handsome husband.

It was rumored that her husband's background was quite impressive.

"Dummy! Ten months old and you still can't say 'Mommy' properly," Oliver routinely teased Nathan. Then he noticed the expensive bouquet of black roses in Natalie's arms, his face darkening, "Where did those come from?"

"Lilian," Natalie replied.

Oliver's expression soured as he glared at the bouquet, as if he was about to throw it away. His face clearly said, “is she out of her mind? Why did she bring you roses?”

"Don't be mad," Natalie skillfully soothed Oliver. "Lilian is like a sister. She just found the roses pretty."

Oliver thought to himself, 'If she weren't like your sister, someone that brainless wouldn't be allowed to approach you.’

Nathan reached out his little arms towards Natalie, hoping she would pick him up. Oliver glanced at Nathan from the corner of his eye and gently moved him to the side. Then, with his other hand, he wrapped his arm around Natalie's neck and pulled her in for a kiss.

"Go change out of your show clothes first. Nathan and I will wait for you in the car."

"Right!" Natalie suddenly remembered she was still in her costume. The show clothes were the designer's handcrafted masterpieces and couldn't afford any mishaps. She knew she needed to change quickly.

So, Nathan watched Natalie leave with wistful eyes, missing out on a hug or a sweet kiss from her.

Oliver caught Nathan's glare and quipped, "Why are you glaring at me? She's my wife. If you want a kiss, ask your wife for it.”
Oliver carried Nathan to the car with one arm and remarked, "You can start dating in kindergarten, as long as you can."

If Natalie heard this, she would be mad.

Years later, Mr. Windsor would tell his daughter that boys before adulthood were worthless to pay attention to. His attitude towards his son and daughter was noticeably different. Nathan remained silent during the entire journey, sitting in Oliver's arms with a regal posture, displaying his dissatisfaction with Oliver.

Back in the car, Oliver placed Nathan in the front passenger seat, letting him play by himself.

Oliver dialed a number. "Is everything arranged?"

"Rest assured, Mr. Windsor. Everything is in place. Mrs. Windsor would definitely not hear a whisper ."
