Chapter 1036 Buy It for You

If Jane kept rambling about Paykston or Lindwell, Anthony would decide to go where he wanted.

Jane sensed something was off. "You called me out today just to hang out?"

Anthony candidly replied, "Patients need to be in good spirits."

Jane thought to herself, 'Well, you seem to be in good spirits.'

Jane resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "So, where do you want to go to lift your spirits?"

Jane herself didn't have any particular place in mind.

Anthony had always been indifferent to Fae City, or most cities for that matter, except for his hometown Southvale, and Paykston and Lindwell. Paykston and Lindwell had many traces of Jane.

"Amusement park, want to go?" Anthony came up with the idea on the spot, remembering that many college couples often visited amusement parks. Jane started school early, so technically, she was of college age.

Jane gave Anthony a look that said, "Are you kidding, or do you take me for a fool?" Then she said, "Not to mention I'm not interested in places for elementary school kids, do you plan to take your fancy wheelchair on a roller coaster or a log flume?"

Anthony stared at Jane for a moment and gave up on the idea.

"Aquarium?" Anthony suggested another option.

"No." Jane was completely dismissive. "I've been to the Georgia Aquarium, seen whales and dolphins in the Pacific, and gone deep-sea diving at the Great Barrier Reef. Why would I go to an aquarium?"

In short, having seen bigger and more authentic things, she looked down on these small glass-encased exhibits.

Pleasing Jane was a difficult task because Jane had experienced and owned things from a young age that most people never had. What others dreamed of, she could easily reach.

Nowadays, many self-proclaimed socialites flaunted their island vacations on social media, but Jane had a private island named after her by the time she was ten.

Pleasing Jane was as hard as climbing to the sky.

In the end, Anthony booked a famous local resort that combined leisure, entertainment, and shopping, hoping it would make Jane happy.

Jane followed the GPS and drove to the suburbs, giving Anthony a puzzled look at a red light.

"What?" Anthony looked up from his phone at Jane, stopping his typing.

"You're acting weird today." Jane tilted her head, scrutinizing Anthony. "Why do I feel like you're deliberately taking me to the edge of the city?"

Anthony didn't answer Jane's question. When they entered the resort, Anthony gave his name, and all their expenses for the day were charged to his account.

The attendant, upon hearing Anthony's name, immediately understood who they were—Anthony and Jane!

They were the talk of the guests who had been visiting recently.

"Is there a problem?" Jane asked, noticing the attendant's lingering gaze.

The attendant snapped out of it, not daring to think further or discuss Jane and Anthony with others, and apologized with a smile. "You two are such a stunning couple, I was momentarily dazzled. My apologies!"

The resort was vast, covering thousands of acres, and included almost every activity wealthy people could enjoy.

Jane glanced at Anthony, who was in a wheelchair, and asked responsibly, "Want to try shooting?"

After all, one could shoot even while sitting in a wheelchair.

"Didn't get enough on the cruise?" Anthony asked Jane.

Jane thought, 'I want you to play, not me.'

But from Anthony's response, it was clear he wasn't interested in shooting.

Understandably, someone who could easily hit the bullseye every time wouldn't find shooting very exciting.

"Then you'll have to play chess or something." She suggested, since most other activities required movement.

"What do you want to do?"

Jane thought for a moment. "Horseback riding, and a spa."

Both activities would take her out of Anthony's sight.

Jane was excellent at horseback riding and rarely played in riding arenas; she preferred riding on the plains and mountains. The resort had a bio-simulated outdoor riding area.

And for the spa, Anthony couldn't exactly sit by and watch Jane lie there naked.

"Let's go to the mall." Anthony made another decision, pointing Jane in a direction.

The resort's shopping mall was similar to those on luxury cruises, featuring top brands and private studios, with both classic and latest products, and offering custom services, perfect for wealthy people to pass the time.

This time Jane couldn't hold back and rolled her eyes, thinking, 'You had it planned all along, might as well not have asked me!'

"What do you want to buy?" Jane glanced at the sign. "This way is the women's section."

"Something for you," Anthony said.

Jane instinctively looked at her outfit for the day.

Jane's outfit today indeed clashed with the place, but she never believed that clothing defined a person's status.

When Jane was still Ms. Watkins of the Watkins family, even if she wore affordable fast fashion, people would still praise her to the skies.

But in Jane's current situation, even if she wore a dress worth tens of thousands of dollars, there would still be countless mouths gossiping. She might as well dress however she pleased.

Jane was about to refuse, but Anthony seemed to know what she was going to say and cut her off. "Saying you're broke won't work, I'm buying for you."

Jane was about to speak when Anthony added, "Don't say you don't need my money, I'm the client today, I call the shots."

Jane was left speechless.

After a few seconds, she "praised" Anthony with a blank expression. "The client is indeed powerful."

The mall wasn't crowded; besides the salespeople, there were only four or five customers in sight.

People who came here rarely shopped unless they needed something specific.

Jane had brand preferences and headed straight to the Chanel counter. She quickly scanned the items and pointed to one. "That one, let me see it."

Chanel was known for its minimalist style. In recent years, due to work, Jane had started to appreciate this elegant and convenient fashion.

Jane chose a pure black dress with a diamond belt as the only decoration. The A-line skirt made her look tall and imposing, both playful and noble.

Anthony has always recognized Jane as someone who could make any outfit look fantastic. She was so stylish that she could easily make others look dull in comparison.

Even so, when Jane came out of the fitting room, Anthony's eyes still flashed with amazement.

Anthony hadn't thought the dress Jane chose was particularly attractive, but on Jane, it instantly looked worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The sales assistant showered her with praise and then brought over a pair of shoes. "Would you like to see some shoes, miss? These are our new show-stopping models this year, perfect for you!"

The white shoes with black tips matched the black dress perfectly.
