Chapter 424 Plagiarism

Flora merely smiled and said cryptically, "Is that so? You should know very well why our styles are identical."

No one understood the meaning, and no one ventured to ask.

Susan's smile froze for a moment before she quickly regained her composure.

'I've attempted to murder her once. Since she's alive, why should I be afraid?'

Everyone looked at each other but did not dare to speak. There was widespread speculation about the two - Susan was entangled in a plagiarism scandal while many criticized Flora for imitating Susan's style.

However, instead of Susan, most of these people looked at Flora with eyes filled with disdain, convinced that Flora was the one guilty of plagiarism.

Meanwhile, Susan left the backstage area to get something.

Seizing the chance, Doris approached Natalie hurriedly, explaining in a desperate tone, "I didn’t know you’d be here! I really didn’t know!”

Natalie, puzzled, asked, "So what? What does it matter that you're here?"

"Your husband prohibited me from sharing the stage with you!" Doris said, both angry, aggrieved, and helpless. She was angry, but she naturally did not dare to express it.

Natalie had been oblivious to Oliver's actions behind the scenes until now. Finally, she reassured, "I don't blame you for this.”

"Then... thank you," Doris replied awkwardly.

Natalie maintained her composure. However, while Flora was styling her, she could not help but ask, "What’s going on with you and Susan?"

Natalie understood her friend well enough. Even a non-professional like her could spot the plagiarism when she saw it, but Flora did not look surprised at all. She was also confident that Flora would not engage in plagiarism.

However, other people did not understand Flora, and with Flora’s lack of surprise coupled with Susan's words and behavior, most people were led to believe that Flora had indeed plagiarized Susan's work.

"She stole my designs," Flora whispered.

Natalie nodded, unsurprised, as Flora continued to style her hair.

"Aren't you worried?' Flora asked as she braided Natalie's hair.

"I have faith in you. There’s nothing to worry about."

Flora momentarily halted her movements, a look of embarrassment crossing her face.

The Flora who was once peaceful and gentle had died.

Flora was suddenly overwhelmed with fear - the fear of seeing disappointment in the eyes of her closest friend.

The grand finale unfolded at a faster pace, adding more excitement to it.

At this juncture, only twenty contestants remained, each one was an elite among the new wave of designers.

In the grand finale, the designers took the stage in reverse order of their prior rankings, and each design received acclaim from the judges and industry professionals. This admiration was especially pronounced when Doris showcased Susan's design.

From behind the curtain, Natalie had the best view of some of the seasoned judges' keen and appreciative expressions.

Doris completed her walk and posed at the end of the runway. Then it was Natalie's moment to step out.

A gasp rang out immediately. Following that, the sounds of whispers filled the room. At the same time, the judges' expression turned into one of clear disdain.

Natalie felt her heart sink.

With Susan having gone first, coupled with her fame, it was easy for people to presume that Flora plagiarized Susan’s design. Needless to say, this would significantly influence the judgment of the matter.
